Probably the easiest solution to your problem

Run a line from the battery through another fuse, and add a switch. Similar sort of thing to when you're installing an aftermarket tacho.

Have you thought about using the AJPS coilovers with camber tops? Probably use super low king springs for the rear.

I can't find much info about the dragway. Are the CAMS rules required there? Fire extinguisher, ankle to neck clothing, appropriate shoes and helmet right?

AE82 to AE92 is a pretty broad category, and a pretty long time line as well.

Hasn't this been discussed many times before in many places? Suzuki Swift GTi seats bolt in also. AE86 match up but miss a bolt so not a hard one to get in aswell. Also just other seats from different *E7*'s. Or reupholster, but depends what look/style/feel you're going for. :wink:

That's it, so long as the body is relatively straight and is rust free that's the main thing. As has been said many times before, you can often get the stock K motors for free, and you'll be replacing a lot of the other components anyway in the mid to long term.

Yeah but every time you say 4AGE someone says CA18DET or SR20, then someone says Rotor, and so on and so forth. So it would be nice to do something a little different. I concede, I will probably end up just working the 4-K or going 4AGE, but it's nice to look at all the options available I think. Especially seeing as you can pick up Suzuki Swift's for next to nothing. I know, I know, you can get old FWD Corolla's with 4AGs in them for next to nothing aswell but still. :bash:

Okay so I RTFM and obviously yes I can and should use the GTI gearbox aswell. So in theory the plan would be to get maybe a wrecking Swift GTI and pull apart aswell as try to find a G16B block to merge with it a la: http://www.redlinegti.com/forum/viewtopic....f=7&t=34636 Might be easier to just thoroughly work the G13B like this guy even: http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=40259 With either option though, I'd be using the Suzuki engine, gearbox, all those bits and pieces. Would I still be able to use other Toyota components like the TA22 differential and such, or would the Suzuki engine dramatically affect all the other component options? Or would it just be a matter of custom fitting everything to work with the Suzuki engine?

So both being G series and very similar I could put the DOHC G13B head on the G16B block?

So I am still thinking about different engine conversions. Want to keep it in the 1300cc range, but something a bit different. Dreamed about Hayabusa conversion, then woke up and noticed someone mentioned using a G13B. They said the biggest problem would be mating the gearbox. Does anyone have any ideas on getting around this? I love the idea of a powerful little 1300cc DOHC in my KE70! :bash:

Does anyone know where you buy TOM'S parts? I can't see anything on their website, and I would have thought they sold to the public. Most of the stuff on eBay is just imitation stuff from Hong Kong and China.

Due to the shape of the bottom, I would concur. Perfect starting point for amphibious car.
