I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying hes downgrading from a 4k to a 18r If your going to the effort to fit a 18r, then go the extra mile to fit a 18rg. He asked for opinions, i gave him mine. ive owned one, its crap for a 2lt. If you do go through then good luck mate!

why would you want to put a 18r in fullstop!!?? I had one in a corona wagon, gutless as hell for a 2lt, heck a 3k is better!!

it could be, i don't know it has been resprayed, then left out in sun, so its all faded in spots, few things that need doing, ding taken out bonnet, all small bits of rust on bonnet, doors and inside the boot need going.. Needs better tyres on rear, they are ont he little bump thingys when i got car., Needs better front seats as these ones are ripped, better rear bumper and rear end straightened near number plate. New carpet, LOL@ rolla boy. Mum always uses that word......PONTENTIAL!!! HaHa

bought this KE30 for $700 about 3 weeks ago. Since then ive replaced the front bumper with a straighter one. Got new balljoints in front, new rear wheel bearings, and a wheel alignment. Replaced the big truck wheel with a not so big one. put in crack free lights, with perfect chrome trimming. Put chrome triming off a KE55 along the window bits. Took the but ugly seat covers off and left standard seats how are. Plan on lowering it 1 1/2 inches, better seats in front, swap out 3k for a 4 or 5k, bigger exhaust, CD player, and a boot install. here is pics as it sits now, sorry for shit pics, camera not working so had to use phone.

have wondered myself how you change the cam over in a 3k!! In a gemini motor its easy, its a SOHC HAHA

id say in long run the 18rg would be better, but harder to get as they where imported into aus as far as i know. Cheaper to find a 18RC, they where in celica's, and coronas around the 76, 77, 78 year or later i think. 21r is very torquey, but still a boat anchor.

18RC is 2lt, same as in my Old corona wagon (78model), pretty sure the 21R fits straight in aswell, sorta like going from a 4 to 5k, the torque is heaps more.. then there is the 18RG, ohh god i wanted this for the rona!!, 2lt, twin cam goodness, fits straight in, just a little things to do,

??? what tha hell?? 3K based race engine, 16 valve twincam head, dry sump, quad throttles, ND mechanical injection? SOmeone tell me what or how or where are these twin cam heads for a 3k???

Hmmmm, I'm so lost, I have the manifold in front of me, there is the side that goes onto the head, then the outlet side one big hole with 3 studs, then on top of the manifold there is a big hole where the inlet manifold sat on it???... DO you mean that bit?

Ok, 1, why do you have remove the 3 studs out of the manifold for?, don't you use it to bolt J pipe onto?. The battery in boot is no problem, ill just come see you when i have everthing for it lol!! where would the best place to position the turbo then?, bit clueless on that..hmmm Also don't ind running all wiring behind guard, was gunna do that anyway, neaten it all up..one day, Will probably be up to 3-4 months before i get a turbo and J pipe, and other bits..

Yeah wikid as, will start looking around. Got the KE70 manifold now, just gotta get J pipe when turbo is chosen. How much will the J pipe set me back, i knwo you got yours for nothen you lucky &%#&! Also, why not put the tubo beside the block like most cars?..cause to much heat or not enough room?, Is there much hassle having it where the battery is?

hahahaha fun as hell i guess.. :( So any recomendations on turbo?, last i seen you ya said the CT12 was running outta puff, even too small for a 3k??? :D can't really do anything till i decide on what turbo to use.. :)
