  1. pretty sure I spotted Luke yesterday on West Tce in the Mazda....(ps nice holding up traffic there!!)
  2. I think Clint has the RC banner, and last year I entered with T4S (cause RC wasn't doing anything) and we met up down the road and then cruised in and got assigned a spot where we set up the display...Oh, and BTW I'm in :y: and I might be bringing a couple of other cars with me :)
  3. umm have you checked your filters? cause if you have problems with both your phone AND your modem, you might want to start there....
  4. would you guys recommend replacing the gasket when he's removing/replacing it...and will he have to torque it up when he replaces it?? *have I just made things more confusing?*
  5. $8500?? wow that's a cool pick-up!!!
  6. I saw another sportivo across the road while I was there...my daughter was at the service station and almost got into it (got into a panic because she thought I'd left without her), then realised it wasn't my car!!!
  7. ok, WELL.... the raa wouldn't fit the battery because the car was IN the workshop (cause it's SO much safer to fit it on the road!) then they said that the RAA battery that was IN the car was the wrong one, and we needed a different one, so the crash repairers put the new one in, and then discovered that the posts were in the wrong spot, so the RAA man gave us a different battery, the crash repairers fitted it, and it seemed to fit, we started the car all was well, so turned it off and as I was rummaging around looking for the rego sticker, they were putting the tyre back in and doing up the bracket, the bracket screw touched the battery bracket and it arced...and it caught fire/smouldered...I ran out to the rolla to get the fire extinguisher, then realised I didn't have the rolla, and the crash repairers were trying to get the bag off their fire extinguisher and then it stopped....um catching fire? meanwhile I'd run outside again to get the RAA man, (he ran REALLY fast) by the time we got back in, there was only smoke.....he replaced the battery with the exact same battery that originally came out of the car :) Is it true that if we had have used the fire extinguisher on the battery that the car would have been a write off? because of the contents of the fire extinguisher?
  8. the battery arced and there was smoke, but no flames, it was scary...
  9. I have a Question.... is it a fire if there's smoke and no flames?
  10. awww thank you :P I sometimes think how much money I would have saved if ... no I really don't, I love my car!!!!
  11. I have a Question.... is it a fire if there's smoke and no flames? Because when I picked up the car today (the deuce) when the new battery was being installed, it arced and filled the frunk with smoke...so is it a fire if there's smoke and no flames? which leads me to WGMG: hubby had a bit of a hissy with me because I forgot to ask a question of the crash repairers THE CAR WAS ON FIRE FFS!!!! I was slightly distracted!!!!!

  13. oh my :D what a waste of a well, a reliable? vehicle, it's a shame when something you own is trashed by someone you know. However I hope everyone in the car was/is safe and not too badly injured. And I hope you're brother has learnt a lesson and you can get recompensed. L :|

  15. Hi Driftpig was the avatar/screen name of Ben Simpson, who died in a car accident/suicide. His parents were quite obviously devastated by the loss, I think he was an apprentice mechanic at holden, there was no sense to the loss. Soon after his death the NS club as a whole rallied around them and offered them support, one of the ways to show respect for Ben, his family and youth suicide in general is to have the sticker, which raised funds towards a not for profit youth suicide support centre (I believe) each year there's a memorial cruise, and you have to take a teddy bear for a donation. His parents use the user name "Olds 32" I think or something similar and are active in the Car club scene and are there for the young kids at risk, they put A LOT into the Adelaide Car Scene. You can find out more at nissansilvia . com . au or I think Hard Tuned . net
  16. that's AWESOME packaging....and really thoughtful :y: well done! lol you spelt rollaclub with only one L...you know what happens, where you go with only one L :y: lol I hope they realised the mistake
  17. i spotted "SECA" the car like mine today, near Urbrae
  18. WGMG: three weeks ago our air conditioner died, so I ordered a new one (as I could get it cheaper through one of my suppliers) so I rang the installed and told him it would take about a week to come in, so could he pencil me in somewhere this week, and I'll call him when the AC comes in (because I wasn't sure if it would be in on Thursday or Friday). He said yes, I said can you please put it in writing and email it to me. He did. The air conditioner unit came in on Friday, so I called the installer to let him know it was here and to confirm the booking, four times. He finally rang me back and said he's fully booked until the 1st December, when I asked why he didn't pencil me in like we'd discussed, he said I never called back to confirm. So I told him I'd find someone else to do it. about 1/2 hour later, he emailed me a bill for $180.00 ... WTF? (I know that I have to pay the bill, but I feel ripped off that I had a pretty clear arrangement with him, and I didn't really care WHEN this week it was installed, all he had to do was pencil in a time, and as soon as the ac arrived (which I was told was Thurs/Fri on the absolute latest Monday AM which he knew) I was to call him, expecting the install on Wed/Thurs/Fri this week. So now I have to find a new installer that can do it for me sooner :)
  19. there was a fiscal reason I was at subaru..... hows this... the exhaust gasket for Karllos's car from toyota is a three week delay and i think $185 bucks from Toyota. At subaru (it's the gasket of a B4) they got it in overnight and it's only cost $15 (fifteen dollars) I'm sick to death of the extreme prices of parts from Toyota so I think a $170 saving is reason enough to go to Subaru. Oh, and I had to park way over to the right because there was a parked car behind the park on the left, and to get out in an itty bitty space would have been difficult otherwise.
  20. my first reaction was "no f*kin way" that is certainly a very, VERY fine example of a well looked after original spec car it's bloody beautiful :) what a pick-up, well done
