  1. So apart from running gear they are the same car. Cosmetically I mean?
  2. I'm was pretty sure GTI-r's were all 2 doors. Unless ya count the hatch as a 3rd!
  3. The Celica build up on the same site is also interesting... http://www.mat.fi/project1984toyotacelicaturbo.htm
  4. Thats cool! Even by opening the bonnet you would have no idea it was capable of 250BHP. It looks more like it would develop about 20BHP. I'm not sure how well it would handle however! Also the wheels and the wood look is a nice touch.
  5. Hey guys n gals. Just something that has sparked my interest. Other than the engine being a 2ac 1.3l in the AE80 and a 4ac or g 1.6l in the AE82 is there any other differences between the two models. From what I can tell they are exactly the same car. Also were the AE80's produced in smaller numbers also as I don't remember seeing much in the way of AE80's around for sale in the trading post, car sales ect. Thanks....
  6. Depending on the day/time ill be in. Unfortunately weekends are few and far between at the moment. Just another one of the perks of shift work.
  7. Brilliant.... Absolutely brilliant. Nice find...
  8. Here is one of my favourite photos from a recent Sydney trip. The other is from my old twin cam coming into a sharp right hander. I like it cause of the speedo and where the needle is sitting!
  9. Thought this was worth posting up.
  10. :D /\ It does help to be a girl in some of these situations but at the end of the day if you don't do anything stupid you shouldnt get pulled over. If you do get pulled over all you need to do is act nice and play dumb if they are picking on you to do with something illegal on your car. I have been let off with my exhaust being too loud and also my tyres hanging too wide out the guards. Both times I played stupid and they let me off with a warning. The exhaust incident was a funny one though. Cruising through town one night i pulled into rundle st. It was about 2am and they had a defect station setup right in the middle of the st. They pulled me over and checked out my car. I had only put new treads on the car that day so I knew they couldnt hasstle me for that so I wasn't too worried. The officer then came up to my window and asked me to start my car up so they could check the exhaust. I had been driving a bit that night so the exhaust and engine was warm and that quietens the car down a fair bit. I advised the cop that the car was actually running and he didnt beleive me till i gave it a small rev. He then proceeded to check the exhaust and asked me to bring revs up to about 3000rpm. I couldnt get it to sit exactly on 3k and the exhaust started to pop and crackle when I let the accelerator go. The cop came up to me and advised me the car was about 95db and the legal limit is 90db (or something thereabouts... it was a while ago now). He then advised me they were about to pack up and he couldnt be bothered with writing up a defect this late so told me to have the exhaust fixed as soon as possible and let me go. :fuzz: Woot.... Needless to say the car is still running the same exhaust to this day!
  11. I have Dunlop Direzza DZ101's and I have been very happy with their performance. Havent lasted me too long however but thats probably due to my driving but wet grip is good. They also come in a large range of sizes.
  12. :P I'm one...Sorry guys..... I should still be able to meet at the drive in though. I will see how the day pans out. I unfortunately have a relly bash that afternoon / evening.
  13. Its probably too early to tell but any idea what movies will be on?
  14. I'm sure there will be a few people there with crankin stereos. Just park next to one of them and you wil be ok.
