Basically I bought a replacement bumper & grille shipped up from Adelaide, then the guard and apron from the local wreckers. The bumper gill costed me like around $100 shipped up to Brisbane while the guard/apron I think was around $60/$70. The panel work tho was around $500 as they had to charge to remove the bumper, panels, grille, light, straighten the radiator support panel, straighten the bonnet then put everything back on.

Its not too bad. Your lucky to find yourself a car with a overrated dash pad. Those license plate lights always rust but luckily you can buy them brand new from ebay. That "Speed hole" that you have is common, I have one at the moment in my KE30, I'm yet to have it repaired. Not a too bad find, look forward to seeing the progress.

Hey, sad to hear it was stolen but great to see you have it back. I'd say keep it. These cars are too rare to chuck away and once done up can be a real head turner. As for the damage on the bonnet, try getting it repaired. That's an early bonnet and they are extremely rare. I've had mine repaired after my crash and the damage was far worse than yours. Before... TELSTRA SUX :( Its an acquired taste and once you own one, you love it!! :( Besides, I remember seeing a Top Gear episode once. The presenter said if your going to collect a car, go for a car that wasn't seen as attractive and didn't sell well. Cause now, if restored, that car should be able to fetch a fairly good price as they aren't as common. You see ugly, I see $$

Similar like the bitching thread, this one focuses on amazing and lucky things that just happened to you. Like... Today I went to the Department Of Transport to change my engine number. I changed my 4K over to 5K probably around a year ago and since we might be taking my car on this road trip, I just wanted to be safe. As I pulled into a park, a man was pulling into the park next to mine. He was there to de-register his daughters old car. It just happends it is a 1981 Toyota Corolla. He said he hasn't been able to sell it but wanted to see it go to a good home. (Been sitting in front of the house with a for sale sign.) It has a reconditioned engine in it and all he wants is ... $50.00 :( Then as I was changing my engine number over, I lifted the bonnet and saw I was missing my air filter. It had popped off and fallen out of the engine bay while I was driving and the lady didn't notice. :( That's it, just had to share :D

I feel that if I stick to a routine it helps and it keeps me motivated. If I miss a session it gets harder to get back into. You have to really want it and stick to it.

I'm not sure but did the AE71 come in a panno, if so that would be the last one. Otherwise the KE70 was the last one.

That doesn't look right. The vin should start with xE##. Should be either, KE16, KE18, KE26, KE36, KE38 KE70 or AE71.

I know its a bit random, but my parents had a Mitsubishi Canter and its rear window would be the size that you would want.
