Would this somehow contribute to high fuel usage?

Pretty sure there is no exhaust leak, i've been checking underneath the car recently and no fuel seems to be on the ground, nor in the engine bay. I haven't got the carbon canister? i think it is (the black circular thing) connected, should i put that back in? and yes i've got an air filter on the carby. Thanks for your reply Evan! edit: and ae82! Hopefully putting the canister back in will fix it, thanks for your help guys!

Hey guys. Lately while driving, i've been smelling fuel inside my car. I've had a look in the engine bay and all the fuel lines look alright and i can't work out where it's coming from. I'm pretty sure it only happens when i accelerate heavily.. anyway, any help and suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Hayden.

According to the boost gauge, 10-11psi. Would there be much of a power difference with the 2 different pistons? dish shape i think it is? Once i have finished everything on it at the moment, might look into another dyno run and hopefully a lot better result lol.

Seems like a decent goal. Well before i changed the oil to thicker to get rid of a flat spot, i had it dyno'd, but i forgot to put the choke back in haha! I'm pretty sure it made 68rwkw so hopefully with some adjustments mine could make 80. I was under the impression i could get 100, must of been dreaming haha. Good luck mate!

drove alongside a very clean willowy green early model corona from glenelg to hallet cove, with p plates and venetians. looked very nice!

Hey guys, I've done a fair amount of research but haven't found anything definitive of what i'd like to know. Note: I'm doing this on a budget haha I'm looking at doing a coilover conversion to the front of my ke30 with the HSD coilover sleeve kit. I'd like the sleeve to be going on XT130/AE86 struts. What inserts should i be looking for to replace the existing ones? i have read short stroke camry? or celica ones, not quite sure what i should be looking for.. once again, i'd like the inserts to be cheap (lol) If i can't get a hold of XT130/AE86 struts, would ke55 struts/breaks be suitable for use of the coilover sleeve? Would S13 coilovers be cheaper to put in? Once again, sorry if this has been covered but i couldn't find the answers i was looking for.. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers, Hayden :happy:

Ended up paying rego for it so ill be keeping it for the time being. I got some work for the holidays so i got some money which will be spent on it! Hopefully on the cards is HSD coilover kit, XT130 LCA's and hopefully suspension setup aswell/brakes and reset leaf springs. Dad said he would pay for a bit of that, so with the left over money and my other savings, i plan to buy some new rims. Honestly don't know what to look at, but i want it to be different. I was thinking widened steelies but for the price I'm paying, there isn't much point getting them widened to 7" 0 offset. I was interested in sunraysias and found a supplier for 4 stud (unsure of PCD) but once again, 15x7 -12 will be too much work for my guards and i don't want to screw them up haha. So i'm assuming i'll be looking for 14x7 -0 or 15x7 -0 but doesn't bother me. Looking on ebay, i've seen some Work Equip 03 knockoffs (15x8 +25) from 'OG' brand, for about 800? i think, probably will need a lot of guard work being 8" wide. Just trying to find what suits my car and my taste i guess.. suggestions appreciated! Stay tuned!

Thanks for the info Altezza :) Yeh getting bored of it, never really get to drive it cos its always at my dads house being tinkered with. At the end of the year i was planning to get another 180sx so instead of spending more money on this and probably not getting it back, id rather sell it and have the money available so when a cheap one comes up for sale i'll be able to buy it. Haven't really got much interest in it, thinking of painting the pannels that aren't painted and put 3 months rego on it, then lower the price a little. Not fussed if it doesn't go, but i'd rather someone enjoy it more then what i have cos it never gets driven :(

Due to the cold weather, i haven't been driving it lately because the carby is just toooo cold! always have to run with the choke out and is very thirsty on fuel. Once the weather warmed up a bit, we headed down to u-pull-it and got a ke55 heater core. After relocating the battery to the other side of the engine bay, we mounted the heater core infront of the carby so it heats up. There has definately been an improvement as i don't need the choke out while driving now, but the carby still is a bit cold. Made a quick video of a walk around incase anyone was interested :) Not sure what i want to do with this car yet, finishing high school and not have a job limit the amount of money spent on it :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q3FdVyANy0

Haha no worries :) Recorded my exhaust last night, thought it sounded somewhat like a rotary (well thats what the kids at school tell me), don't really know why walked to the front of the car haha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDEbGOm2QAE Seems to be running extremely rich and using more fuel, i think its from the cold weather and the carby not heating up properly. When my dad gets back from holiday, we will try and build a "Carby Heater" so to speak haha. The plan is to put hoses from the heater and get them to blow out on the carby heating it up, not too sure if my dad was planning on enclosing it lol. After that, going to adjust the air/fuel ratio maybe a rejet? of the carby and then chuck it on the dyno. I'd like to get about 100rwkw, is that too much? how much do other people make with a supercharged 5k? Cheers :)
