  1. Haha, so was I at first. If you prep it really well, and get ALL the crud off, the dye will penetrate through and none should settle on the surface. I took my JZZ30 seats out, put them in the back of the rolla, and took them to a steam cleaner at scrubbers. Worked a treat. Harder than doing vinyl or leather but - all they need is a good scrub with orange hand cleaner :)
  2. If youre not keen on brown bro, try some VHT vinyl dye. Attacked the upper half of my Soarer interior with black to get rid of the god awful Toyota Echo-esque spruce. Worked a treat!
  3. Ive got some spitfire mk1s with freshly painted centres. Selling for $250. In Hobart too man
  4. Its insane man, finding secluded one-way steep roads has proven a challenge too.
  5. Jono Ive been asking around for sheds/booths to no avail. A mate did say he once got a cheap arse second hand plastic portable carport, and there was enough room to walk around with a spraygun. As long as the insides are folded in a little, and weighted with some big rocks or something, then alls good. $50 it cost him. Doesn't have it anymore however as some kent melted it on new years eve hahaha! Josh_04 do you have a ke55 sedan or coupe? Not many other ke55s in Hobes Ive seen
  6. Springidy spring choppy chop :)

  7. Buff, haha, ironic as that's all I've been doing for the past 12 hours and it still looks like $hit :lolcry: Thanks man
  8. Hey all, So I am about to give my KE55 another coat of the stock yellow, but cannot make out the stock paint code, as my build plate is stuffed / scratched to all buggery. If anybody is in the know, perhaps we could use this thread to post up the manufacturer paint codes for KE30s through 55s? To start the ball rolling, I need to know the code for my colour so I can get some mixed up. Add your colours and codes to the list below if you too can help out fellow rollabus owners: KE55: Canary Yellow: --- (note: not to be confused with Mustard)
  9. Hence I need to know if its worth my while with a KE55, and what the differences, if any, are. Its my daily and I don't want to spend a heap of time and dosh on it, so cheap, simple mods are the go. I know a lot of the KSev boys use Sigma LCAs and aside from rebushing its a pretty standard affair, and considering I had KSev gear in my front setup, bar the '55 top hats, Id beg a guess the '55 setups are different to '30s?
  10. Me too, hence the use of a motorbike helmet now too :lolcry: One way roads are the goods - we tackled the Southern Outlet (note, major highway from Kingston into Hobart, 80km/h zone, one way with a massive concrete divider on one side and a run-off pit and massive hill on the other, hahaha). At 3am in the morning however it wasn't as dangerous as it sounds, with only one car passing us and laughing his royal titties off. Not much progress KE-wise - most time has been spent preparing the JZZ30 for sale, and battling through exams. Final semester now, which means another 6 months before I need to stop playing with my toys and find a grad position / start my legal practitioners course. I'm still thinking I could happily take clients to court in a KE55 riding on bumpstops, with a bosozoku-style tailpipe sticking 3 metres up in the air, but I need to get this project moving on. Stay tuned, video build is also in progress and is looking good so far
  11. So this isn't as simple as sourcing some sigma LCAs and rebushing them, then bolting them on? I need mad camber yo. Plus my 7" wide, phat offset spitfires are sitting way too far out from the guards (KE55) with stock camber  Eagerly awaiting to see what else is involved
  12. After an AE82 seca rear wing (plastic type)
  13. I have a set of jellybeans with recently resprayed centres. $280ono, with dunlop sport sp300 rubber, 2 decent, 2 need replace.
  14. depends on the rods, etc. Mine came with a backing plate with a bolt thread, which the main bolt from the inside of the mirror goes through, and a circular ring which the mirror itself (i.e. the plastic) pops into. I borrowed a circle saw set, and drilled 2 holes close to each other of the same size. Make sure you use measuring tape and masking tape, so that the mirrors are consistent/even either side :lolcry: It's easiest taking a wheel off to thread the mirror inside the guard too.
  15. Please do mate, I'm tossing up my options now. I have 3" blocks for the rear, and a set of pedders (only 1" lower) which will see a coil chopped each, allowing a bit for the inevitable sag which will happen over time. Even at that I need to roll my guards to all $hit because of my 7" wide rims + phat offset. Show us how you go, and I'll try and do the same in my build thread when it finally all happens!
  16. I've got some jellybeans man, I'll shoot u a text re. those too
  17. Nardi = porn. Thanks a heap bro, I actually need a fair whack of paint as I am respraying some clean Soarer Guards to put on my JZZ30, and they're the stock metallic green, so thanks for the advice. Looks like it'll be cheap after all, and I'll get cheap access to a spray booth :laff: As mentioned, I'll be using the KE as a guinea pig first to test my spray skills (or lack thereof) before I potentially ruin a ride such as the Soarer. If you want a slider yourself, they can be had cheap on EBay right now, someone actually has stock
  18. Sweet as man. I'd be keen for a mission up, but work/Uni is keeping me down here for the moment. I've added you to my friends list man, let me know what comes of it yeah  Need another diff to weld for good slideage
  19. Hahaha. Just bought a full-faced motorbike helmet (note, not moto helmet, full on race helmet!). I anticipate crashing into a rock wall at the springs, or sliding off the edge of the organ pipes :lolcry: You from Launnie yeah? I'll let you know if something happens man, it'll be worth the trip down!
  20. I'll let my new tyres be the guinea pigs first man, haha. Be a few months away at this rate, but should look the goods when its done. And yeah, I couldn't stand the late model '55 squaries, KE30 front end is much cleaner. Now some serious lowerage and some oldschool roofracks are on the cards (just so I can take my huffy slider to the top of Mt Wellington of course  Keep us updated with how you go painting - I am considering doing the same soon!
  21. If you do Brad, would you be able to pick up a Borgie for me too? I will give BOTH of you a 6 pack each for the trouble if so
  22. This thread is slowly becoming car porn. I am about to make up a whitewall rack, which you can use if interested. Basically an old hub on a wooden stand, a horizontal guide, a few clamps for razors, and once masked - voila - a perfect circle for the application of rubber paint  Can't wait to see this thing evolve and make its way onto the streets. Seems as though progress is being made quickly considering what you started with bro.
  23. Nice Rolla bro, think I saw it around Hobart recently

  24. Man why do you Launnie boys always have the cheap/free parts??? Very keen for a diff for my '55. Let me know if you head down to Hobart in the near future, and a 6 pack would def be on the cards
