Hahaha yeah no worries brendan, if it runs on the weekend when your here ill do it then lol. umm aircon? no? i want a aircon fav because on a camry (which I'm running a rad from) the main fan and the aircon fan work side by side, plenty of room for both fans and id like to be able to punish the hell out of it at the track on a hot day... Are you a local mate?, and with NT plates on your car we have a lot in common (i moved here from darwin 2 years and a bit ago you may know some of my friends haha). Wait till youve met the local traffic cops and have to deal with them going over the car they are total pricks. I like your idea about the bel, my missus and i go there for dinner when i havent spent the budget on cars for the week lol. ive been referred to a guy on paisley drive as hes a friend of a friend for my mod plates.

Cheers, love chasers, my mate just traded his I'm gonna miss that car. but it got traded in on a nuts RB26 powered S14 so i guess thats a kinda saving grace. also muchly like the number plates. Is the bottom pic a Sigma?

having 4 stud on my new rolla with 4 piston brakes (i have the very easy to do peugeot/hilux/corona setup in that) and in my experience finding wheels to clear big brakes is much more fruitful in 5 stud. ill be going a bigger 4 piston and much bigger discs on the DX and hilux rear end so for me its easier to go 5 stud front end. i wonder if hoppers will make me conversion hubs without buying their brake kits (sorry I'm not a fan either. they work but 2 potters are ugly.)

yeap phil taking reall good care of her! So more done this evening. helicoiled the threads on the exhaust side thats all on now. Struts have springs and camber tops ready to go. one strut in, other not so much in lol. do it tomorrow. exhaust all bolted to head and all the rubber mounts remounted. battery charged, gave it a quick test turn over, does that nicely. the list of shit to do now velly short. Take front wheels to my old work and fit up brand new tires i have sitting here. (may even buy some semis and put these newies on the back) finish bolting in struts file out holes in the Peugeot discs (got new slotted ones) front brakes in, bleedemup coolant in new radiator and new coolant need to source fans (anyone got a SV21/VZV21 fan and AC fan?) mount rad properly. Ash to come hook up the rest of wiring. Wheel alignment Modplate and roady sit back have a beer and admire. Do a skid inside the shed lol.

Ill be there, carless but unless somone has a trailer i can borrow

righto gents, another evening another few hours work put in. firstly got the steering rack bolted in and all set up as per how i wanted it. heres a pic of everything all ready to go... Oh and yes I'm aware both the ball joint and tie rod end have split boots (if you can even see it in the pics), these will both be replaced when i go for wheel alignment, have all these bits plus a new pair of rack boots but no splitter and no press to do this stuff at home. May even go a full remanufactured control arm yet, see if my supplier has a listing for corona. Ok and after all of that i lifted up the back end, fitted the handbrake cables, cleaned/serviced and set the tension on the rear brakes then painted the drums and fitted up the new wheels. Sorry guys as per previous posts I'm no longer interested in crazy pumped guards and huge dish, i have a another car with all of that happening (not that ive touched the dx in weeks lol) as it is these wheels sit nice in the stock guards, show off my nice brakes/front end and more importantly fit over them! You can kind of see the metal flake in this shot too! pictures just don't do this poor cars paint justice!
-
As above, use corolla top.spring hat and strut top. Also use corolla camber top or stock strut top. Are you using corona control arms or steering arms too? If so theres more u need to know about using them. If your in or close to brisbane happy to show you on my cars, both run this system :-)
-
Or maybe through the week if I'm allowed :-)
-
Ok all i did last night was pop in the steering rack and assembly (rack, control arms, caster rods) which took about ten mins. Will get back onto it on the weekend
-
yeahhh ok bits are purchased, will helicoil it soon, way too hung over today to even look at a car, went and spent the day with the missus at the goldy doing random shit for fun... The parts i have awaiting fitment now but still at work cause i didnt have time to pay for them friday are new rack boots And a water temp sensor so those will be done mid week or so. going tomorrow to pick up the wheels I'm going to use on it, sorry guys nothing special, i need brake clearence more than i need dish right now, and considering the mods this car has the last thing i want to do is go too low or too much dish on the wheels and guards as the local cops love that shit. i wanna keep my licence this time round haha. Instead id prefer to concentrate on getting the thing all mechanically the way i want it. Got a few other goodies on the go for it but those ill reveal as I'm finished them.
-
Lol that was a joke i can't even drive for another 3 weeks. So every thread in the exhaust side of the head is f@$ked too... This car is starting to get me down. Helicoils all round.
-
Bursons, 5 port one off some sort of commodore, 37 bucks. Win.
-
Umm for a very long time, the cars still running unless its written off. I have no doubts it didnt run good but it ran and drove
-
Sorry should.have specified I'm after something in the country... usps takes too long i need it running next weekend!
-
Hey guys as per my topic title after a vacuum manifold anyone on here making them or know where i can buy one
-
As above. Ive personally test fitted a dx bar to.a slant front, it didnt work well. Looked weird.
-
Why not? Worked fine in my old ae71, it certainly didn't run the best but it ran.

okkkayy. busy evening! Firstly a extended phonecall to ash (the db king) killed my phone so no pics for you all (tomorrow ok!) but i got a thread tap and retapped all the inlet manifold threads then carefully wound in the bolts one at a time with a little thread tape on them. They went in fine this time but itll be helicoils all round next time the manifolds off for sure. After this stopped doing fiddly stuff to lay another coat of paint on my front end stuff. all looking fine as. might put another layer on tomorrow night, may just bolt the shit in, see how i go lol. Then back to work, fitted the radiator and refitted my hoses. Made up a pair of mounting brackets but didnt feel like welding them in. so left that for tomorrow or when i feel like it. Would really like to get my mitts on a Main thermo off either a 4cyl or 6cyl SV21 Camry and would like a secondary air thermo too if anyone has one? would rather get second hand for these as they aren't hugely important but id like to get them before i go running the motor too much lol. after this i felt the inlet had sat long enough so on went the throttle bodies and the ramtubes. will go looking for a set of filter socks on the weekend unless anyone has a set they want to sell? The last thing i sis was pull the exhaust manifold off properly to get at the head, but having been at it for a bit too long i decided my back was feeling too sore and left it at that so i just gotta scrape that gasket and put the new one in. so now my list is indeed shorter! Just need to do the following for fire up! - clean up mating surfaces and pop in new exhaust manifold gasket and tighten the exctractors up - set base timing and pop dizzy in. - fill radiator and engine up with new coolant - air filters - get mr auto sparky around to sort out the last of my wiring loom - some sort of vacuum manifold to get a line onto the brake booster, the MAP sensor and the fuel regulator. - put front end in - Charge battery lol -skid it. hard. cheers kents
-
Ive had them run.on a stock ecu, just gotta make a vacumn manifold to feed a good signal to the MAP sensor
-
Hell no lol it hasnt got aircon. Got a new Radiator for it today. V6 VZV21 camry. Thanks to parrot for that tip in his rides thread.
-
Discovered last night my inlet-head threads need helicoiling. Its a 4age head not a bigport 3k ffs. Oh well. Ill get it together soon.
-
Got my inlet and exhaust gaskets today, 13.50 ;-)
