  1. OMFG it flies yo! and then down to its final resting place till it gets shipped off to frawleys  will start pulling the 4k later on i think, depends how our other little project goes (installing a fail assed reversing camera into my grandads AU falcoon) if i don't have enough time for that ill get some done on the interior swap... looking at painting it asap too hey, looking into my options ATM but satin black is looking like a winner for me.
  2. righto then more was done yesterday arvo.. here it is with everything else disconnected ready to liftizze out and heeerrrreee say hello to my little friend, thats a air operated block and tackle, fark man made things so easy haha.
  3. thats the price repco quoted me for new hydraulic ones till they found out they dun do em haha... lol as for the friends bit I'm usually too busy working away to go and bloody drink too much i forget i even have abeer sometimes then when i go to drink it its bloody hot ;) gotta get me a new stubby cooler, lost my one and only one in the big move, id say i left it at ancullens place so hes claimed it
  4. cheers for your advice philbey, ive always had MSD's cause i seem to come across them cheap for some reason. will look into a crane jobbie though. also been looking into the jaycar DIY CDI kit, anyone have any input into what they are like?
  5. awesome ill go see him on monday arvo :P cheers mate. any ideas what sort of money id be looking at for all of the above?
  6. sorry the sticker with the part number is only half there.... but here the pics anyways... there ya go :P
  7. maan that guy is a old mate of my grandads... hes not in his old shed at kippa ring we actually went there today to seek info on the rebuild, its less than 2 mins drive from where i live... any ideas where i might find the son nowadays?might let my fingers do the walking... PS love your avatar bro haha.
  8. so far this build has been sponsored by two of my little friends, both are amber colored fluids, both help immensely with working on old corollas... hehehe.
  9. righto then, started stripping the manifolds and other pus off the 4k in the other car cause it looks like I'm going to have to swap it in to get mobile... the 5ks going to take too long to get bits for and I'm going to go all out on it now hey. see my thread in the general mechanical section for that bit) here's the donor motor with the carby off! and here it is with the manifolds off, just gotta get the eleecy bits off tomorrow and bellhousing and torque converter woo
  10. whoops i forgot all about this will get onto it as soon as my phones charged up lol.
  11. hrmm been doing some talking to a local engine builder and hes echoed you lots suggestions. going to do it all once and properly. out comes the 5k, in goes the 4k (:P ) amd will farm the build out a bit. can anyone suggest someone good in the brisbane (prefer northside but will make the trek if someone on the southside has a rep for k motors) area that will make this bad boy sing?? It already has brand new everything and flat top pistons and a reco head but was assembled by previous owner, after the failed lifter and lack of any real thought put into a lot of the rest of the motor/car id like the lot at least pulled down and looked at by a pro. the work i want done is: new everything, any suggestions on what brands of bearings and gaskets? wouls like a thin as metal one if ACL or the like do one. source and install camshaft (any suggestions on size guys i want big and lumpy) source and install 202 solid lifters, a12 pushrods and 3k rocker gear (unless theres a alternative combo i havent read of that works better) maybe bigger valves if you guys think its worth it? balance and blueprint bottom end so it revs like a c**t source and install electronic dizzy and MSD might need someone to retune my weber to suit too if anyone knows a good carby dyno guy??? would it be worth going new higher comp pistons (maybe oversize for a little more capacity?) like i said has flat tops in it already... cheers for any advice you guys can give... Luke.
  12. i firgue if ALL of repcos suppliers don't have em then a engine rebuilder (who would likely get his bits from repco anyways) probably wouldnt either... currently weighing up my options for the conversion... now i know a solid cam will wreck hydraulic lifters... but will my hydraulic cam wreck my solid lifters if i change? considering the possibility that my cam is to suit solid lifters hence the lifter or two being stuffed :D i didnt build this motor so i wouldnt know tho. short of removing the cam i guess i wont know, and thats a lot more wok than i really wanna bother with.
  13. duuuuuude! good to hear your still coming! id better get my rolla regoed asap then so i can come see you... hows things at home yo? filled the void yet? more importantly now I'm gone have you stopped saying kent yet? LOL yeah dinner and cruise on the 14th is a great idea :D where at and where to cruise to?
  14. Hi guys, my 5k has suffered a failed lifter... i want to replace all 8 of them but without the hassle of changing to a solid lifter setup. can't anyone tell me where i can get a set in a hurry? the repco store thats local to me says no one has any in the country... If anyone can help that would be awesome as. Oh and for whats its worth I'm in the northside of brisbane.
  15. got covered in oil pretty fast so the idea of handling my camera (a 1000 dollar nokia N95 8 gig) didnt really appeal to me... but imagine similar photos to last time i took the head off, only minus the bloody lifters, tho that bit was like childs play with the lifter removal tool...
  16. well ive just come back home from repco... new lifters on the way at 3.80 each I'm doing the lot. about to go pull the head off and remove them, got the tool i need from a mate of grandads :y: will post up pics of the epic fixorness :D
  17. lol i bought it like that not much of a fan myself hey... plans: fix lifters get rego probably convert the diff from the other car over (its auto) paint the f@$ker (yeah i really am over them flames) and some new wheels (the widest 15" challengers i can gets my hands on) then it will be my daily while i save to bring my VL turbo down from darwin :P
  18. well now i've cleaned out the floorpan so well you could probably eat from it :P now to start transferring the interior over
  19. 2nd the above post i was going to wind mine right in too till i read that
  20. umm i have a ke70 with a 5k... will that do? going to work on its shit now... will take a piccie for ya  i think it has the part number still on it too :2thumbs:
  21. where/when? would like to go watch hey... was right into the drifting thing before i left darwin... had to sell my S13 to move to brissie tho! will be there with bells on if i get my finger out and get my rolla regoed lol.
  22. *bigport guru enters the room* hrmm the only difference in the two is the tune on the ECU... seriously JDM ECu is the win, but youll ned premium unleaded on hot days... as for upgrades... id be looking more into rebuilding such a old motor before i even considered upgrading anything for extra power hey. but thats just my take on it, better off rebuilding it now while its still going than crying at your machining bill cause youve put a ricer exhaust on it and flogged it till it died LOL... BTW i know ive said it before but FUUUUUCK nice ride man  love the FX's tho id be keeping the AE92 and driving that to work, no way id leave it anywhere, imagine the price if someone crashes into it or breaks a window.... birdie whatd i tells you before? do you no listen??? one jetted for adams bigger motors is going to make a zook 1.3l run like a pig bro, go get a new one hey otherwise youll be kicking yourself when the bill for buying it, then rejetting it and rebuilding it to suit your zook becomes more than a brand new one would have been...
  23. two more pics, the interior is now stripped ready for the bits from the nice one! the rear bit and front floor will post again when its all vacuumed and clean! does anyone know where i can get two Very good condition door handles? (from the inside, the bits you use to pull the door shut) the only bits neither car has, will kind of let it down having such a overrated interior and no bloody handles lol.
  24. haha looks like you guys had a phat time! nice looking place to go too, tho its no litchfield (andrew will know what i mean lol)
  25. andy down here smick ones are everywhere... yall need to come down here for a holiday and get one!
