the back seat and all is perfect under all that junk this also will go in the other car, this will be more stuff going into the flamed one. heres a exterior shot of the other one... its a pity it was crashed its in SUCH good condition anyways thats about all i have for now, if anone can help with my noisy motor issues please let me know before i pull the motor out... cheers for reading guys, Luke.

here she is shortly before i ran it again... pity it was still noisy :y: heres the rest of here in my back yard, still needs a wash. the flames are starting to grow on me but ill probaby paint the car soon. bet they make me cop bait.

Heres the new head gasket. just after this painted the extractors too no more rusty yuckyness just shiny silver :y: heres some useful info lol

Hey guys, since i got to brisbane (recently moved here from darwin NT) ive been looking to fill the void that is not owning a rolla... On the lookout, good old rolla club delivered. Picked up this rolla the other day and the white one for spares the one with flames and the 5k in it needs some work, it had some serious noises inside the head when i went to look at it. Got it home and found the last rocker had come off, to fix that i stole the retainer c clip and spring shim out of the other engine. while i had it apart i pulled the head and checked out the pistons and everything and replaced the head gasket. With everything back together it started first piston up (woo) but alas it still has noises :lolcry: Having never had to pull one of these motors down i have no idea where to start... my grandad and uncle who know a bit about old pushrod stuff reckon that its probably my lifters making the racket, and something about them not filling up with oil. on monday when my stuff arrvies on the truck from darwin i have a oil pressure guage and a timing light so I'm going to check pressure (in case its non lubed parts making the noise :o ) and also going to check my ignition timing in case its a nasty as ping doing the honours.... If anyone with experience with noisy 5k's has any suggestions id be well open to them or better still if your in the redcliffe, brisbane area id be glad to make it worth your while to come have a look at it for me :y: Anyways now for the piccies sorry bout the size but i have no idea how to fix them :P heres one from when i first went to see her heres the underside of the head... lookin good :P

Um yeah? that'd be sick as hey... Pulled the head down last night and replaced the bits that were loose (last rocker arm had come off and the clip and spring shim that hold it on are MIA lol. bit worried they might be in my sump but ah wells. Anyways got her all back together all nice like and she started first piston up, but it still has serious amounts of noise inside the motor... but worried that somethings up with it still... anyone got any ideas? its a 5k with big cam and flat top pistons, brand new reco head and supposedly (haven't had the sump off to check) brand new bottom end gear. Anyone who knows these motors real good want to come have a listen? hrmm if not ill pull it and drop in the good 4k i have here to get it running and send the 5k to the engine re conditioners for a look inside it. can anyone do this work too? or recommend someone to pull it down and check it out? Also would like to have the bottom end balanced while its all out and maybe have the head shaved a bit for some extra compression.

Hi guys, First things first... My names Luke, i'm 24 and nuts for rolla's especially KE70s had heaps of rolla's including a track spec AE82, a AE86 with big port and a locker and choppy commodore springs, A ex speedway motored KE70 (65 kw atw yo!) and a Ae71 with a locker and lairy home done paint job... I decided recently i needed a lifestyle change so i moved to Brisbane :y: living on the north side in Redcliffe (OK deep north lol). When i was living in Darwin my house mate was none other than Ancullen (whom most of you may know as the mod for the nt section) he will vouch for my awesomeness when he discovers this thread... Anyways Ive gotten myself another rolla which later on tonight ill put up in the my rides section (been too lazy to ever do one till now) so you can all see it, in the meantime its HERE IN THE FORSALE SECTION Also i have a Ex Victorian police VL turbo I'm busting my balls to fix (its brokened) and save the coin to bring down but you guys prolly arent interested in stuff like that haha... As any of you who have surfed it know the NT section is dead az but i see this section is much more happening! Will be doing my best to get my arse out on some of this stuffs you guys get up to (if i'm invited lol) and meet you all! I live out in Redcliffe (well Clontarf but everybody knows where when you say reddy) The rolla i bought needs a bit of work but i have a Haynes manual on the way from repco (should arrive wed) for the stuff i don't know about (head torque specs and order of torquing). The car also needs rego and therefore a roadworthy, anyone out this way know someone who's going to be easy on the old girl? (tires are close and a couple of bubbles here and there in the paint from rusty spots...) Lol that's like the biggest mouthful ever, so ill shut up and give you lot a chance to reply yo! Andy them wheels look great... do they hit on anything tho? wonder where you got em from :y: fark danno i could use the k motor and box as spares at that price, ah well too far away... umm seeing as i cbfed putting them anywhere else ill chuck up somepics of my new ride... Started on it (obviously) pulled the head in less than an hour tho but only just (like 59 mins) found the noise inside the head so no need to put the motor in out of the wrecked white one... tho I'm taking everything inside out out, it has to be THE MOST IMMACULATE corolla ive ever seen... if it wasnt for the wrecked front id be fixing that up instead, the entire car is like it rolled off the showroom floor, ill take pics of the inside of it tomorrow!

hrmm well i know I'm not there anymore but this sections kinda dead yo Car: KE70 corolla sedan :y: Problem: has a "hot 5k motor" when i went to look at it i got the guy to run it... had a serious sound inside the head. Fixor: well i just pulled the head and manifolds off in an hour (little bit eager lol).... found the last rocker had no retainer and had fallen off, the knocking noise must have been something to do with that, though everything seems to be in order man if it wasnt oily you could eat off the inside of this motor... everythings brand new including bigger valves, better valve springs and recoed head... Will turn it over tomorrow and listen to the bottom end to be safe then its all going back together and off for rego :P let yous i know how i goes y'all

danno, try unplug it and see if anything changes, or try a ECU diagnostic? failing that, burn the f@$ker lol ready to do that with the AEsev

Car: 1989 nissan silvia engine: CA powah baby + 20psi Problem: the tread seems to disappear off the tyres at an alarming rate, with the amount i get pulled over this is worrying... any one got any suggestions? seriously though. i DO have a blown head gasket, also have an entire CA18 in good nick with no blown gasket, want to swap motors but alas! no where decent to work on the car.... anyone want to rent their shed or carport for a weekend? Also have me a AE71 with no motor lol need to get a 4AC if anyone knows where i can get one see guys i feel the rolla love still ;)

lol nice work birdy, beats 56kw atw :bash: as most of you may know by now ive swapped all my corolla bits for a silvia... for those who don't know, i swapped all my stuff for the "drift ready" silvia that was for sale on boostcruising for a while. Has a CA18det and a fair few tasty mods with more to come I'm sure... Ill make an effort to get josh or ranga as hes known on here.
