  1. Ok so early this morning (Sneaky time when it was still dark) I drove to my local Exhaust Work Shop, walked around the back, opened the large bin to find a 6" long 3" diameter straight Exhaust Cutoff, and two 6" long 3" Diameter curved Exhaust Cutoff's.. And my plans are to make my own twin drift pipes.. My Ke70 is already running a 3" exhaust - Single pipe, but I want to cut it off about 8" from the rear of the car - Leaving me with a 3" exhaust running almost to the end of my keto without an exhaust tip.. I was wandering how I would go about making my own pipes though (How would I cut and weld them to fit) My plan is just to cut the left curved pipe at roughly a 60 degree angle, going from the rear centre position of the pipe, across 60degrees to face the right hand pipe, which I would do the exact same cut to but on the opposite side, leaving the cuts facing each other, and leaving two 1.5' halfs at the end, and a full pipe at the beginning.. Then I want to weld the two cuts together, so that the pipes are joined leaving me with a 3" tip, running to two twin 3" pipes.. And then welding the single 3" end, to my 3" Straight pipe, and then my 3" straight pipe to my 3" cut off exhaust. Looking something like this I guess.... Obviously there wouldnt be a gap in the end of the two pipes facing the exhaust, I just drew it like that, so you could see what my plan was for the angles... Would this work? Has anyone done anything similar, and does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks.
  2. So yesterday I trekked down to Brisbane and picked up a full set of 15x10" 0 Offset wheels for $500 with Tyres - Pretty stoked with them. And on the way back I also picked up a Twin cam 4age 16v Small Port - Which is in good condition out of an ae82. Not bad hey? Now I just need to find a T.Series Diff, a T50 Gearbox, Wiring loom, ae71 Pedal box and slave, ae71 Cross member Rack, Water pump, oil pump, aluminum radiator and Radiator Hose's, Surge Tank, Fly wheel, Extractors, Clutch and Engine Mounts.. SO MUCH STUFF TO GET!! Going to be an Expensive Conversion... :'( Here's how the wheels look on Cop Bait - Need to flair the guards a fair bit more, and remove the Mercedes hub caps, that have been pop riveted on.. Decided to install my Mirrors, and cable tie my front bumpers on just to see what she looks like.. Shes almost ready for paint (Y) Just got to sand her all back, and fix some little rust spots, and a few little dents here and there, use some yummy body filler, spray her with rust protection and BAM! Paint time... Oh my bolt on guards are on their way aswell.. And I'm finally ordering my Quad lights tonight!! Heres what she looks like with the mirrors and bumpers etc.. These two photos don't do her much justice :( These ones make her look a little more dangerous ;) OH AND DOES ANYONE WANT A GREAT CONDITION HEADLIGHT AND GRILL SETUP??
  3. you should just take the exhaust from cop bait ;) and leave me with your exhaust and leave with some money :)
  4. You should full on paint this bobcat spec haha for the simple fact that its a F*cking MACHINE!! And then get two massive Caution stickers made up for the sides of the car! Not the best idea ive ever had, but it would be pretty cool! When I say bob cat spec I mean Black and yellow!
  5. by the time its n the road, it will no longer be army green :)
  6. Heres the finished product, not bad for a 17 year old with no idea about upholstury.. Ill upload some photos of what it looks like in the car tomorrow :) I also carpeted the wooden backing that sits behind the rear seats, so now when you look in the boot all you can see is carpety goodness  Oh and today I began making my door cards today out of aluminum checker plate, about an hour of angle grinding these, and about 4 1/2 hours of ringing ears they were done (with exception of the non cut out door handle holes and window winders.)
  7. When you come down eventually we shall go for a spin :) my entire suburb is a racetrack haha!
  8. How about we race when my 4age arives next week, and I fit/lower mount my turbo for maximum cop bait!
  9. Ive been so busy lately due to work, havent had time to update this beautiful thread of mine ;) Although I haven't got that much done recently.. My brand new lights and window wipers arrived about two weeks ago, thanks to ebay... Only took a month and a half for them to get here.. So last week I decided that I wanted a nice floor in my boot, so I began building one, and came up with this bad boy.. Started by taking some random paper from the old mans office, figured he must not use it as there was thousands of sheets of the shit! Then I placed that onto my sheet of ply that I was originally going to make door cards out of and then moved onto cutting the floor out. So I soon realized that attempting to put the floor in the boot was just far to difficult, I decided to cut the floor in half, once getting it in the boot I just couldn't get it to fit properly so after trimming parts of the floor I finally popped it into the boot and bam, she fits! Then I picked up 2sqm of black carpet from my local foam and rubber store and began to trace the floor out onto the back, remembering to trace the lines about an inch to wide for the floor so I could glue the ply onto the carpet neatly. After some thinking, I decided that using glue to stick the carpet onto the ply would be stupid as heat would cause the glue to expand and contract, eventually allowing the carpet to come loose, instead I decided to purchase a staple gun and this is the finished product of one side the floor
  10. What a shame some genius 17 year old realized what was up for grabs and snapped at it when he could ;)
  11. Quadlights look absolutely terrible... You should sell them to me ;)
  12. This is the colour I will be spraying my Keto..
  13. Does anyone know the colour code for this matte grey, or could anyone help me to find it? HELP?? Any help is greatly apreciated!!
  14. You sir, I like  ^ Good to see you have done your home work, any ways it all comes down to the owners choice and what you say in the matter of your own car goes, so do what ever works for you I say.. (With in reason that is - don't want to see none of you idiots with slinkys sitting where your springs used to be  )
  15. Didnt get any work done today apart from cutting a rubber mat to fit into the section of the boot where the spare tyre sits.. All I had to do for this was turn the rubber mat upside down, trace my spare tyre with a coloured paint pen in this case a lovely Homosexual shade of Pink(So you can see the circle on the black) then I just followed the circle with my stanley knife and wallah! Done, all that I had to do was clean both sides of the mat, and place it in the boot right way up! I did this just to make my boot look a bit neater, and to stop my tyre from rubbing the paint off the bottom section of the spare tyre area.. Some pictures of the process. I'm going to have a crack at fitting my chrome bumpers tonight and my plastic Kamei Front Lip..
  16. Nope! Straight into it when ever I can be :)
  17. Tuesday afternoon, got my 4 speakers, headunit, subwoofer, amplifier and mono amp installed, it took about 3 1/2 hours as it was the first time ive ever installed speakers, but with the help of a mate I got it all done.. The sub and amp are in the boot (Still need to find somewhere in the boot to bolt them down permanently, but waiting to get boot carpeted first) The mono amp is on my rear parcel shelf with my 6" speakers, and my two 4" speakers fit in the front behind the original speaker housings! heres what it all looks like roughly.. Oh and did i mention how good it sounds!
  18. Looking good reed, Ive done a bit on Cop bait, check out the thread "Steezy little Ke70"
  19. The best thing about this car is before purchasing either of the Ke70's I honestly had almost no knowledge about cars at all, like yeah I knew the basic stuff like what a radiator and stuff was and I new what most of the main components to a car where and how they worked but other than that I knew nothing about vehicle restoration and modification. And now I'm slowly learning neat things which is sick, and after being pissed off and angry about Jail Bait, things are finally starting to progress and look promising !
  20. Looking good man, keep up the good work !
  21. Oh and the original Sony sub box is for sale... Its in alright condition, I just didnt like the size of it.. The black wooden sony side panels could do with some touch up paint, or just a respray.. And the carpet could do with a clean.. But there isn't any damage and the box is in good condition.. Someone make an offer?
  22. Got some minor work done last night at 11 due to not being able to sleep.. Began the attempt to fit a large "FULLY SICK" subwoofer into a little sub box :blinks: - This was actually kinda fun!! Started off with this... So after removing the sub from the original sony sub box housing I drew a rough circular shape that I thought was roughly the size of the sub, haha then I jammed my dustpan into the original housing hoping it would catch most of the saw dust and stuff but ummm..... That failed  Then I cut the circle that I had drawn out with a Jigsaw and after a little bit of sanding and filing, oh and vacuuming out the sub box, the sub fit!! Doesnt it look good? :wootjump: Oh yeah I decided to put the sub in upside down if you noticed above ^ well technically the sub is the right way up and the sub box is upside down but you get what I mean.. Why you ask? :hmm: Well, if you look in the boot of your ke70/ae71 to the left hand side you will notice that there is a large opening where from what I can tell your jack is meant to sit in.. Yeah turns out that when this sub box is upside down it fits in the opening and blocks the opening completely, leaving my sub taking up less room in my boot and making my boot look neater :) getting the sub box to fit in the gap was like attempting to put a condom on a watermelon but hey, its done now... :2thumbs:

  24. Got a heap of work done yesterday, I was pretty pleased with myself  Started out the day by installing my new grill and brand new headlights and corner lights, didnt take too long.. Car is starting to look pretty fierce.. After that I found out that Cop Bait was missing the springs and rods in the boot that kept the boot lid open, so I had to take them out of Jail Bait and install them, didnt take very long but it was a bit of a mission to get them into position when they want to spring and bend back the other way.. Now I have a boot that stays open! I also found out that Cop bait was missing the spring and mechanism to open and close the fuel bay door so it just flopped about... After a bit of switch and swap I removed the boot release and fuel door release from Jail Bait, and installed them into Cop bait, this was actually so easy to do, I was shocked. After all of that I moved on to removing the gear stick from Jail bait, and then removed the gear stick from cop bait and performed the old switcharoo, as the gear stick in Cop bait had been cut down and was kinda sketchy to drive with.. Also took the full dash and glove box out of cop bait and replaced it with the dash from jail bait all re painted and fresh, which means Cop bait now has a tacho dash!! Oh and I got a brand new dash mat online :) Now I need to install my gauges properly and throw in my momo steering-wheel and sparco boss kit.. I sent the FUGLY looking monza buckets away to be re-upholstured today... $700 later... Oh well they will look so sexy when they come back! Then off to supercheap I went to get an amp wiring kit, while I was out and about I picked up this cadence amp... It was $399 - Got it for $150 brand new! WINNING! Cop bait was looking sweet at the end of the day..
  25. $300 for the dragways - $400 with Bridgestone Potenza tyres - 75% Tread.
