  1. yeah Roo, i bought your thermo fan.. T50 could possibly be a weak link, but i'll cross that bridge when i get there... might have to get a spare just in case :y:
  2. KE ping it real - very keen for sydney cruises :y: keep me in the loop... when's your project going to be complete? Crispy - PM sent
  3. Crispy - i'm doing my conversion at my mates place on the Gold Coast... will be driving it back down to newcastle after i'm done, so if you want to check it out as i pass Evans Head, let me know KE30_KE35_KE55 - i'll check out the chassis rails as soon as i'm back on the job next week... Unless i find an immaculate body, i'll probably just rust-cut and dent-remove this shell, then get it prepared and painted. probably not in the near future, cos i'm spending my $$$ on the drivetrain first edit: Pictures will be up later this week
  4. good job... sensible choice on the engine for now, but once you get onto your open license i hope you turn it into a raging animal :y: well done mate. pity i didnt buy it, considering the bodywork... but i'm glad it went to a good home
  5. dude i'm VERY impressed glad this went to a good owner - i was so tempted to buy this when it was on ebay... are the panels straight, or do you have to do some tidying up of dings etc? looking forwards to following this buildup. any ideas of what engine package you're going? please keep an eye on my project. it'd be good to get some feedback KE35 4A conversion
  6. Tailshaft is completed Hydraulic Clutch setup is nearly done Exhaust is going to be a bit of a dodgey home job til i can afford to do it proper. any suggestions on how to get a nice balance between quietness and airflow in my exhaust, i'd love to hear it. When i had the GZE in my ae92 hatch, it droned like a mofo at highway speeds, and was generally way louder than i wanted. i want it to be as subtle as possible
  7. Progress so far: 1. T Series Diff from RA23 Celica - spring mounts and torsion bar mounts have been cut off. Leaf Spring Platforms have been welded in place. Leaf Springs are in the process of being reset. Anyone looking to do a T-Series diff conversion into a leaf sprung KExx will need to get larger U-Bolts to fit around the larger diameter diff housing. 2. Original Crossmember modifications and new engine mounts fabricated. Doing this has allowed me to mount the engine lower and further back towards the firewall. Hoping this improves my handling due to lower centre of gravity, and less weight in front on the front axle 3. Intake Modifications - (pics soon) 4. SC14 - strangely enough, the SC14 fits better (pics soon) Still to be done: 1. Tailshaft (from Celica... Celica T50 has different spline, so i need to get the AE86 front end put on so it fits the sprinter T50) 2. Fuel System 3. Wiring 4. Finish Hydraulic Clutch 5. Finish Supercharger Piping 6. Exhaust
  8. did the extra leaf and reset springs cost you much? great looking car mate.. any engine/drivetrain plans?
  9. anyone know of any good exhaust places on the Gold Coast? I want an exhaust made for my new 4AGZE conversion into my ke35 corolla. i'm aiming for as much flow and breathability as possible while still being quiet. if you have any advice on the construction or any advice on where in the Gold Coast to get it done, i'd love to hear from you thanks mark
  10. the body is a bit rougher than i'd like, but cleaning it up is next on the list after getting the drivetrain upgraded alternately, if anyone has a clean ke35 or ke55 hardtop shell that the want to part with, let me know :yak:
  11. Conversion is under way as of today... I'll begin a bit of a diary as soon as i start snapping some pictures
  12. loving it... keep us updated
  13. installed a Pioneer headunit + 4" front spkrs + 6"x9" rear spkrs on monday.... sounds good considering what i spent getting it! Looking for someone who's selling: T50 from sprinter or ae71 Diff from TA22, RA23 etc Celica 4A RWD engine mounts or anything else that might be useful for 4A conversion
  14. reviving an old thread... (split from http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=7353) my 4k just started doing similar things this evening... i heard a popping noise then a bit of a hiss after that, i had troubles accelerating. Basically any time i placed load on the engine i had troubles... free revving seems to be ok, but idle is pretty wierd. when i stopped the car, there were some smoky fumes coming from the engine bay. could i have cracked my exhaust manifold? any ideas what else it could be in my case? head gasket? loss of compression in a cylinder?
  15. they are the wheels off miller's ke35... bought them off ChrisGT when he upgraded his wheels i'm personally a massive fan - they look mad on this car what made you get sick of the ke35? edit: found a missing bracket that allowed me to get the centre console semi-mounted... anyone remember how to attach the front brace to the console to completely secure it? thanks... mark
  16. Installing a stereo Anyone have any suggestions on how to re-install the centre console? can't figure it out
  17. wierd... the car had KPROLN plates

  19. Name: Mark Car: 1978 KE35 Hardtop Motor & Driveline: 4k and 5spd from a KE70 Suspension & Brakes: brakes are stock... lowered king springs on the front Wheels & Tyres: can't remember what the rims are called... used to be on Miller's KE35.
