Is it a saturday night special/weekend racer or a daily driver? If it is a daily you'd be better of with an appropriately sized downdraft weber.

You are going to notice front brake fade way before the rears. Front brakes do about 70% of the braking effort.

Is their really any advantage for going upright k series performance wise?
Straighter better flowing intake manifold.

Always pays to boil a suspect thermostat in a pot of water with a thermometer to check it opens properly.
Also cutting the centre out of a thermostat (ie. only the moving piston part) , and temporarily reinstalling is a good way to rule out thermostat problems. Keep the main body part for the flow restriction to slow down the water flow.

Welsch plugs?
You using an early 4afe head?

You might still be able to buy the individual parts (pressure plate, clutch disc, throwout bearing) at Walkers to make up your own kit.

ke2x has shifter position in same place as ke3/5x boxes. No idea if extension housings would swap over.
Just thinking that with a lightweight flywheel and a heavier duty clutch, gearchanges may become more of a precise art.
-
Have you got spare gearboxes for if you break the orig ke1x 4 speed?
You should just put in a ke70 5 speed. Better shift position (I know you'd have to do something with your console), spare boxes easier to find, plus overdrive.

Liking the E30 (minus rims).

If you have a DCD, just try it.
I'd hunt around for a 24-25mm primary venturi on your 4k. Once you get the jetting optimised they are set and forget carbs.
Really cool the way you can change the idle and main jets in them without having to take the top off (you need a rag to soak up the fuel from the float bowl when doing the mains).
-
Really you are just better off using a better quality single 12" sub. Saves heaps of room and will pump way harder than 2 cheapies.
I've gone down the cheap route before and wish I'd just saved up a bit and put the extra towards a better sub right from the start.
This will run your subs if they are 4 ohm. You'll need another amp for your 6x9's, last time I was in Jaycar they had 2x50w RMS amps for $60-70 on sale.

Our '90 AE92 seca (4afc) sits on about 2900 at 100kays in 5th.

Can someone locate for me the idle cutoff solenoid?
It is on the carb and has a wire hanging off it. If you forget to plug it in the carb will not supply any fuel on the idle circuit.

idle cutoff solenoid?

It should have a number stamped in it and you should be able to search for it on google.
Nup. Just says Lynx and Corona on it.
I have searched lynx listings and the only corona listing I have found says 1600cc. Also after posting I had a good look through the ACL gasket catalog, and yes it does look to be for a 2R going by the manifold gasket pictures.
Anyway cheers guys. Was thinking of putting them up for sale soon, was just trying to get a definite fitment. Very nice clean setup that was rebuilt 12 years or so ago and has been sitting wrapped up ever since.

Probably just the cannon to blame.
Reverse flow mufflers are the way to go, don't even need a resonator.

Actually it is a 34ADM.
Got the ADF part mixed up from the 32ADFA I used to have. :P
-
Didn't the carbed falcons have 34ADF's?

1 x KE30
1 x KE55
2 x KE36
1 x KE25
Thats it for me.
Wont go into other cars, but they had a Blue Oval as the badge :P
Thought you had 2 ke25's. The red one?
-
How much does it owe you Taz?
I'd be doing a conversion in anything later than a ke1x. Later cars all have plenty of room under the bonnet to take a bigger motor. Plus they are heavier so could do with a capacity upgrade to improve power to weight. Look at ford and their Escort, they had an optional 2L SOHC Xflow motor in the same sized car as the ke30's.

Worst thing is that the old 911's have two oil lines running just inside the sill and dickheads jack it there and crush the 600 buck oil lines!!
Ouch! That would suck.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. WGMG's is the cost of some parts locally. The power steering pump shat the front seal. Rang around for a second hand unit... Looking at $200 (or more) if you can find one, mine is a harder to find early one with hydraulic brake boost. Too scared to ring up BMW. Ended up getting a rebuild kit from the states for $45 AUD delivered to my door. :P

and does anyone know what brand of rim they are
Cheviot Armalite?

Missus brought 6 bales of hay home in the back of the ke16 when it was on the road. LOL, we used to call it the Tardis, amazing how much stuff you could fit in such a little car.
4k Weird Problems??

Adding extractors and an exhaust make a motor run leaner.
Has the motor got any other mods? A 2" system is to big for a standard 4k.
