ok so sold the 2TG package, bought KE2# 4AGE engine mounts and bought another ke25 :blush: hahaha just for daily duties, sick of the hiace, stock 1.2 3K toyoglide FTW! to low so will remove lowering blocks and chuck in my stock front springs. looking for some 12" stockies and guess what came with the Ke25.... modified t-series engine mounts to suit k-series crossmember -__- also got a crane cam fireball xr700 ignition thingy, thinking of chucking my elec dizzy into the 3K and hooking this up somehow?

Ill be there in the new KE25 :)

well after thinking about it I have decided to go 4AGE so the 2TG is up for sale Its a 2T-GEU Engine with Celica TA22 T50 Gearbox. Comes with all accessories including twin solex carbs, stock twin carb inlet manifold, genie extractors, ta22 crossmember, radiator, leads, engine mounts and few other bits. Was running great before being pulled out of a TA22 Celica. Bolts in TA22, T-18 and also KE25 with modified or TE27 crossmember. Also will bolt in KE70 with T-18 crossmember They make the same if not more hp then a stock 16V 4AGE and heaps of potential for more power $1500

Might have to raid that wrecking yard here in adelaide with 4-5 KE10s with heaps of parts still on them :hmm:

I know, it never stops does it! The crave for more and more power I know. just something funny, the most powerful/setup car ive owned was my 4K ke70 with ae86 suspension and that was fun az. In this between 100 - 200hp is what I am aiming for that is more then enough in such a small car.

hahaha you think? lmao I know, but things just pop up at the wrong times lol and tempt me and give me ideas of what could be lol... Well to be honest was put off a k-motor because make stuff all power stock and very little aftermarket support thus hard to extract decent power Then seen the 2TG package and thought id jump on it as was a good deal. Now ive found a 4AGE package which is also a good deal. now if I go 4AGE I know it will stop there as that's basically up there as far as RWD Toyota twin-cams go apart from 3SGE's but they never tickled my fancy so thats out the picture lol 2TG's do sound awesome though with the twin solex carbs, was just out in the shed tinkering with them :P

ok I'm at a crossroads. Ive just bought a 2TG package and I'm all set ready to go... but.... Ive found a 4age... now I know it looks like I can't make up my mind but I need some opinions on which way I should head. Basically its a street car, set up for fun times in hills and track... Will be a daily until buy a proper daily... now the question I ask, either stick with the 2TG for period correctness or go 4AGE and take advantage of huge aftermarket support, good prices and all the 4age stuff... ive been eying out yahoo japan and still 2TG stuff available but the 2TG is huge compared to a 4AGE and only 8v compared to 16v. hmmmmm......

Ta22 sway bar will fit around the 2tg :)

ok so the planning begins I'm keen to upgrade my existing ta22 T50 to a A-series T50, as I prefer the further back shifter position, and apparently later T50's are better because the bearings are bigger roller ones and not the plain type. But apparently that's where the problem lies with fitment of t-series bellhousing onto a a-series T50 according to this thread: T-50 22spline in 2T I have already cut out my trans tunnel to fit my KE70 K50 so ive already passed that hurdle. now also I'm wondering about a late model T-18 T50 as they have a 3TC so should bolt up to my 2TG, apparently they are 22 spline so the shifter should be the later further back type... and early T-18 have 20 spline output shaft (I think) but is the shifter still further back or up front ta22 style? can anyone help? shell is only good for scrap, rust in seal panels, doors, boot, bonnet and roof, not to mention chassis rails and engine bay, surprisingly spare tire well is still intact lol not to mention both doors and roof got totally destroyed by the forklift ive stripped most parts and will be selling off bits and pieces...

Thanks for the info mate! Ross, picked if up off a guy called Andrew south of the city, said he bought it off a wrecker decided not to use it for his celica's. Also heard Fours 'n' More / Sleeka Spares closing up? and yea looks like the car hadnt seen the road for some time so the engine is in need of some attention. full rebuild is coming :) new everything... gives me time to get a crossmember sorted and see what I'm going to do about the pedal box.

ok so I bought this parts car this week :blush: time to rock and roll... engine, gearbox and diff all out now, as can be seen I unbolted everything and lifted the car off the drivetrain. car is going to scrap lol totally stuffed rust everywhere... looks to be a late model 2TG engine, not sure what its out of, but the gearbox seems like original ta22 5speed also got the diff with it, any good? t-series...

Why is it a good thing? They fit but they hit the chassis rail, so cbf trying to make them fit. If I run them as is they will just add a heap of vibration to the car. Bit of a pain to put on as there is no room and they are weird design, my engine bay is disgusting at the moment :( Save myself the hassle and get some that fit.

Test fitted the extractors, they fit ok apart from number 2 pipe which hits the chassis rail. They are an unusual design compared to the more common design with the two straight primaries and the outers that follow suit. The collector seems to be in a good position though. Seems to me as they are better suited to a ke3#, ke55 or ke70 engine bay so if anyone is keen on them let me know will put up for sale thread. They are basically used but in brand newish condition Now I'm wishing I never sold my previous set :S haha

bought some extractors today :) just need carbs and I'm set to go :)
