ok so should I check the voltage and then change the regulator and check again? Where do I check? lol I'm a total doosh when it comes to electrical :S Thanks for the offer luke, I got a few spare ones here that ill give a go.

external, someone has changed the alternator to a newer looking alternator I think its part of the problem, my dads a electrician get him to have a look and use his multimeter :) thanks for that! Yea well I had to install it with my hands, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't an issue this time... Yes the globe is a Koito Japanese globe straight out of another KE25 so its exactly the same as the globe that was in it. Yea well I replaced the flasher can for another one but it didn't do much but looks like the new can I put in it was crap anyway i think... I think it could be an alternator issue but strange it could develop a problem out out of nowhere? I do have a big heavy duty battery in the car bigger then the stock one a KE2# takes, is that an issue? Well id like to keep it original and use the stock Koito globes, I wonder if you can still buy them brand new?

Hey guys 2-3 weeks ago, my right headlight blew. I found it strange as they were working fine for ages. Now my indicators don't work properly, they work most of the time but sometimes they get stuck illuminated and don't flash. Anyway, so today I decided to replace the front headlight, took out the old one and installed the new one. it worked so I was happy but It was unusually bright and when I first turned it on inside the headlight filled with this white smoke. It worked for 3 minutes and blew-out Not sure whats going on here, but looks like its getting way too much power to the right headlight and something is faulty.... Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe its the switch on the inside drivers radiator support, or maybe the indicator switch mechanism? any help greatly appreciated, don't want to blow another headlight! Also is it possible to fix the stock sealed beam koito headlights once they blow? Thanks Tally

yea will bring the KE25 troy, last cruise that frank organized few months back, meet was at Harbour town and then we cruised up to semaphore and stopped at one of the car parks, was nice and hot weather though. or maybe meet somewhere central and then cruise into the hills to a nice park or something? like maybe up north east road to Gumeracha or birdwood? or nice sunday cruise up gorge rd or something, there are some areas you can stop along the way for some pics with nice backdrops.

Also troy, from my experiance KE2#'s have issues sometimes with the indicator mechanism, both my ke25s have issues similar to what you are describing. Take off the steering wheel and give the indicator mechanism a good clean, dust and crap builds up in there may cause it to malfunction. Also there is a relay I think on the inside of the drivers radiator support panel which I think from memory controls the lights, maybe swap that over to a spare one if you have see if it fixes it...

Hahaha noticed the chaser and straight away thought it was yours, looks and sounds good man!

Bottom of front guards, around the bottom of the windows, underneath the taillights, front of the bonnets, bottom of rear quarter panels, doors etc they are old cars so rust is to be expected, what can ya do? if you have skills then you can do it yourself or are willing to give it a go, otherwise get a panel beater to fix it. Stock they are 3K 1.2L, great strong engines, last forever with just basic service every now and then, but always good to keep up regular services with k motors as they tend to leak/eat oil lol. could swap in a 4K from a KE55/70 or a 5K all bolt in nothing to do if you bolt on the 3K inlet/outlet manifolds. 7K bit of work involved T series engines next on list, in particular the 2TG, will need custom engine mounts or get a TE27 cross member from overseas. Engine and t50 gearbox will then bolt in no worries, but will need hydraulic clutch setup, TE27 have a hydraulic clutch but the pedal box's are not a bolt in process into KE25's, some drilling and custom fab involved. Next is 4AGE, which is same amount of work but all custom, EFI as well so will need wiring done as well... Sky's really the limit though with engine conversions....

let us know and get some pics up! keen to see what it looks like condition wise
-
nah don't get em, just repair the garnishes you have. Paint them the stock grey colour, looks so much better then black. Also Chillin they are late KE25/TE27 corner garnishes, bit different to KE20 ones.

If you have a genuine interest in corollas then yea go for it, KE25's are very nice cars in both looks and performance stock and when modified. They are really rewarding cars with lots of potential. All depends what you want to do with it and how much money you have / willing to spend. Parts can be hard to find, and these days your only hope of sourcing hard to find parts is basically the internet. There are various forums like Rollaclub devoted to old school Toyota's where you will find parts for sale and meet people who have parts or can get parts. looks like you've had heaps of experience with 80s corollas so a ke25 should be a breeze to work with, they are even simpler. only real major difference worth noting is that they are leaf spring rear end and there is not much you can do about it. I own two KE25's I know them in and out any questions just ask :)
