  1. Would a blown globe cause it? I think it may be a bad earth will see how I go... Thanks for the help guys!
  2. that white ke70 thrash box you got was my first car, sure wasnt a thrash box when i had it, was overrated. I built that car. Had AE86 suspension all round with new shocks and brand new re001 tires when i sold it... Also put the chrome bumpers and fender mirrors on it, chucked a 3k head on it aswell... Also had no dents or rust :( had 150K on it when i sold it in early 09
  3. only advantage of a borgy 55 diff is 4x114.3 stud pattern the 55 diff is longer the a stock ke20 one and judging by the pics looks like your wheels stick out the rear guards, could we get a side on view of the rear wheels? wouldnt want to wreck those nice quarter panels going over a bump fast I did the KE30 axle trick in my ke25 jap banjo diff and works well
  4. Hey guys my indicators on my KE25 Corolla are acting weird. Ill tell you the symptoms and maybe we can diagnose the problem. 1. When headlights on left indicators stays on but don't flash 2. When headlights off and indicating left brake lights flash 2. Dash lights other then the indicator light flashes 3. Right indicators don't work. as well as few other weird things but that's the main stuff flasher unit gone? wiring messed up? the indicators and headlights and taillights all used to work perfectly but after I stripped it and put it back together after paint it was working only for a little while then it all went haywire... Any help greatly appreciated...
  5. overrated!!! Love it! Good work nick!
  6. Thought id put a pic up of how car is looking :)
  7. Awsome build man car looks tops!!!!!!!!!!
  8. can anyone post up pics of their linkages they came up with to adapt the weber to a KE25 KE30 55 and KE70 throttle cable.
  9. I'm assuming its a 32/36 off a ford. I recently chucked one on my 4k KE25. What you need is: weber weber adapter (redline brand) ramflo airfilter is also good to get for it If its been sitting around probably dusty, give it a good clean with some compressed air. Chuck adapter on and they bolt straight on to a 4K You will have issues connecting the accelerator cable and will need the appropriate linkage for the accelerator cable on the carb (if it doesn't have the right one already) Will need a return spring on the linkage. Also not sure about KE30 but KE25 don't have much pedal travel so only one throat opens up when you get it connected. Not an issue with KE70s. Can be rectified by making a custom linkage mechanism. Many people say a 32/36 is just that bit too big for a stock 4k, and ive noticed why, when you rev it it slows down for a sec and then picks up, but when it does its real nice. you will notice the engine will run a lot smoother. You will use more fuel but shouldn't be too much of an issue they are small engines.
  10. Car looks great man! That grill is super-duper cool!
  11. KE35 honeycomb grill, early KE35 grill is my guess, seen a few around, keep an eye on here and ebay and wrecking yards should find one...
  12. did the same thing on my head not long ago, got head reconditioned and got them to take the bolt out and weld up the head so got rid of the plate. Much nicer and don't have to worry about any leaks in that area now :)

  14. very sad news mate, main thing your ok, I'm sure youll find another one these things happen....
  15. I'm sure you know lowering blocks wont give you a smoother ride, will increase it in harshness, given a bit of time your leaf springs will cop a beating and deform ive heard....

  17. Skd30 spot on was valve clearences. Got it running sweet! Just in time for ae86 annual 2moro! Just need gearbox oil now :D
  18. electronic dizzy, yea from front to back. its seriously doing my head in everything is working fine, valves opening getting fuel and spark, got battery power, its cranking over fine, when I pump the gas it picks up but doesn't keep going, it only runs on one cylinder at the moment...
  19. Ok I've just about had it with this car ahhhhh!!!! The engine won't start! Ive got fuel, and ive got spark on all four leads and plugs. Number one is firing good but the rest are not, when i take the plugs out the first is dry and the rest are wet. Not sure f it's flooded there is fuel in the bottom of intake but no fuel puddles in the cylinders... I've had it think I should do an engine conversion instead -__- Took carby apart last night cleaned it all up seems fine, bolted it back on and everything... Just don't know why it won't start and why the last three cylinders won't fire... I've swapped leads around they seem correct, firing order is 1342 right so I dunno..
  20. overrated!!! great pic too!!!
  21. Ok guys so got head back from just heads they did an awesome job really happy with what they did for me... no pics just imagine a overrated cylinder head lol... ok so installed it tonight. cleaned up block surface best i could with some petrol and also cleaned top of pistons came up shiny like new :) Then proceeded to put new gasket on and fit cylinder head. cleaned up head bolts with a wire wheel, coated the threads lightly with oil and inserted them in order. Torque them in sequence, first to 25, then to 50 then to 65. Thing is only a couple would click when I got to 65, some of the were either too hard for me to do or felt as if they were spinning just so very slightly... hmmmmm Chucked pushrods in and rocker gear, ended up threading a bolt and screwing up the thread in the head for the bolt, is for the rocker pedastal, second bolt on the right... Will need to get a new bolt see if it will fix it, if not will have to fix thread in the head... the joys of working on cars -__-

    My Ke25

Hey Neil Nice to have you on the forums! sweet KE25 mate looks the goods! more pics please :)
  23. KE20 and KE25 use a single tube with two separate bolts one left hand thread and the other right hand thread. Not like KE30 style with the clamps on the tie rod tube which i swapped over to using... Yea I thought id try and seal up the plate save me taking the head off but it was pretty bad leak...
  24. That looks awesome man great work on the build! Best looking KE35 by far man! great work!
  25. Thanks guys... ran into couple problems yesterday... on the rear of the head on the engine there is a plate held by 4 bolts, its just to block up a hole that is is used for 4k engines in other vehicles other then corollas... anyways it was leaking so had to change the gasket, anyway snapped one of the bolts and there was no way to get it out there is like 5cm between head and firewall.. so off came the head, figured id get it reconditioned while it was off, turns out the head was in very good condition and the engine looks pretty good so I'm happy... dropped the head off at Just Heads on port rd, they going to weld up the rear of the head so wont need a plate and wont have any leaks anymore, and also full head recon... so yea... also had a couple of issues with the stock tie rod tubes, ended up using KE30 inner tie rods with the ke30 tie rod tubes, problem is they are very close to the pitman and idler arm... Was missing one reverse thread bolt thats why couldn't use stock tie rods, and no one can seem to get a reverse thread bolt in 14X1.5 pitch -__-
