  1. ct12a steel wheeled and high flowed is a now completely different turbo to a stock one so not surprised they can make that power same as a ct15b on a vvti 1j stock they have full boost at 2500rpm but are restrictive up top once highflowed they can make around 300kw if done right as any upgraded turbo ,which would cost the same as a new turbo anyway so may as well just pick a new one using compressor mapping ect for the engine . not saying ct12a is a bad turbo just think there would be better alternatives
  2. i agree with taz std 1jz turbo's do a good job stock but are restrictive up top like any standard turbocharger setup sizing a turbo right for best power range is far better then just putting on what you can find cheaply
  3. the turbo oiling system would be far from the way it was designed to work with gravity for the oil drain so you would need a oil pump to drain it properly like they do in some low mounted subaru boxer engines like in turbo brz/toyota 86's + oil feed now not dripping onto the shaft as well might be an issue too i think the gains would be outweighed by the negatives/extra effort personally
  4. could have been metal from angle grinder sparks hitting inside of windscreen when grinding inside the car
  5. sounds like you need a hilux diff at least which will need to be shortened,+ axles re-splined and mounts welded on to suit your car ect
  6. yea that would be great but sadly i don't think they are on this forum as they contacted me through gumtree. so car will probably dissappear :(
  7. car is now sold new owner is going to complete the sr20 project
  8. so if you have to remove material off the back of the manifold flange to match thickness how thick are the header flanges on most/all aftermarket headers?
  9. yep so basically the same as any mix/match of aftermarket intake/exhaust parts on non-crossflow engine, modifications may be needed and to OP all you can do is remove what you changed untill you find the non sealing face or parts and then make them fit properly
  10. so whats not made well enough on them please fill me in? considering most aftermarket extractors would have different flanges it can't just fit them all with out some tinkering
  11. what engine /car and power did you have to manage that? good discussion here on the hilux diff where post no4 mention oke20 runs one with just cut down resplined axles http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=201353 surely a ke70 circuit car would have a 4cyl turbo engine ( prob 4agte or sr20det) and never break a hilux diff , any bigger engine would be heavy and not good for track times
  12. go a hilux diff , wouldnt you want a 1 or 1.5 way for circuit racing , 2way for drifting? i'm not sure what lsd's are available for them but they will take 300kw easy
  13. started on intake and cooler pipes , just need to fab up the stainless pipes
  14. looking good man , what size is that front mount/ piping size maybe its just the 20 making it look big ;)
