  1. Hi, I was just wondering has anyone on this list done battery relocation to the boot? If they have will it be possible to shed some light on this issue like how and where they run the wire what gauge they used and so on. And if possible some pictures? Cameron
  2. Hi, Was just wondering can't he KE55 door trim fit on a KE30 door? As I believe that the KE55 had the door trim wrap right up to the window so if possible I want to switch them to stop freezing or cooking my arm on the metal door in certain sessions. Also if this is possible does anyone have pictures they could show me just to see how it will look and also for some inspiration? Cameron
  3. Hi, Well it seams this dissy has disapeared..well the insides out of it anyway at the wrecker. So I didnt end up getting it. But I runa 4K motor and really want a electric dissy and toyota parts shop down the road wants $330 for a new one so if anyone sees one or has one for sale let me know Cameron
  4. Personaly I just think you ticked him off driving past his place and now he is out to get you or scare you. I live behind a police officer and in close proximity to all my neighbours and a child care centre out near the RAAF base amberly. And I regulary start my jet engine up that idles at 127dB and I am yet to get a complaint. And I can max the meter out when I throttle it up and I have run it for 20min at a time when tuning. BUT I let my neighbours know ill be starting it and tell them a rough time it will be on for and to live with it for a while and they don't mind so I say you must of done something wrong and now he wants to get you back. Also if you still at school go to the man arts department and borrow there dB meter they all have one I have borrowed it a few times so borrow one do a test and if it is legal don't worry. Cameorn
  5. Hi, I read in a previos post in this forum that a guy has a 12:1 CR in a K motor. I was woundering how does he stop detionation of fuel and what pistons he is now using? Cameron
  6. Hi, Has anyone here done the gauges from the KE30? I want to do a custom job but don't wanna break a needle so I was also wondering Can you scan the speedo with needle on in photo shop delete needle and re do 0Km/h mark? also when placing paper cut out on have ahole in centre for shaft and a straight cut to the bottom so it can slip over the shaft would this work? Also does anyone have a pic of the finished product with an image in the back ground? Cameron
  7. Hi, Its not from KE30 I can tell you that much Cameron
  8. Hi, I have been given a quote for a electric dissy for my 3K at $128 AU. I was woundering is this a good price to pay or should I tell them where to go? Also how rare are these units to come accross? Cameron
  9. Hi, Me and trev the other day got a motor out using motor bike straps that are used on the trailer to tow it withteh two hooks. As it was then lift and pul strap tight and repeat...lol So I would say going in could be easy this way but I would try to get a crane first. Cameron
  10. Hi, The motor sounds nice but rare..lol I think Ill stick with just doing up a standard ?K-C motor..lol Cameron
  11. Hi, I was at the libary today going through the car manuals to find some corolla info. And I see the ?K-B series motor put out more power than the ?K-C series motor. So I was woundering what is different about these two motors and which would be the best one to do up the ?K-B or the ?K-C motor? Thanks Cameron
  12. Hi, My dad and me were toying with water injection and with some infomation we got it said the water does take up space and raise the comp more but it also turns to super heated steam and helps cool the motor and valves giving them more life. But the info also said it is good for high CR motors eg forced induction with pinging as some how it delays the fuel from burning or something some how and inturn gets it to ignite closer to TDC or where it is meant to light. As a few cars ive seen have it and it sdoes make a difference and since it takes up room in the cyclinder it does give slight power increas as it helps the fuel burn. Cameron P.s. google water injection you will find heaps of info. I am thinking of doing it to the corolla as it was an option you could get ona morris and for my 4K motor I'm doing up with a shaved head where ill be upping the CR ratio prob to 11..or 10 ill need water so i can run normal fuel.
  13. Hi, OUCH. Never use oil in cable lines. If you need to lubricate them use grafite powder it can be bough at super cheap and other places. As oil will slowly collect dirt and become worse than before but the grafite has a lubricating effect and doesnt collect and stick to dirt. The brakes are up the right way and everything I just think they were made on a monday..lol Ill look at the mounts this arvo to see if I can retro fit them. As I'm not really into drifting so it isnt a to big a deal but I would like a better performing brakes as on a few hills I have had to take a brick you could say..lol Cameron
  14. Hi, Ever since new the drums have never been good in my car. I have to pull my hand brake on with two hands at times on a steep hill as it is crap. I have cleaed the drums had them re machined new pads tightened the hand brake to no luck still crap?? But when I got in my KE70 the other day when I got it brake worked 10 times better so I wanna know if they will fit? As I wanna remove the whole brake assembly off the KE70 Diff and put it on my KE30. As they work great. Has anyone else had trouble with a KE30 hand brake or done any work one one to improve its performance and can tell me what I can do to mine to increase its breaking power? Cameron
  15. Hi, I was just wondering car the drum brakes from the rear of a KE70 fit on to a KE30? As my KE30 has the jap diff and the KE70 has the other one. I am wondering can I swap the rear drums as my original ones are SHIT they hardly work and had a mechainc or two look at then adn they can't do anything and the ones on my KE70 work great lock after 2 clicks so I want to swap them over. Can I do it witha different diff? Is much involved and what should I look for? cameron
  16. Hi, can't race it yet as I'm having trouble with oil pressure so it has a few minor probs there but soon to be raced again. But I can't race on normal go-kart tracks as it has a power to weight ratio that is to great and it is to loud :jamie: drag strip wont let me race as I have no roll cage or fire system fitted and they want me to comply to jet drag car rules if I want to race there so I have about 1 million mods to do if i wanna use the drage strip. So currently I am finidng it hard to race some where..lol Will get some video up soon been a bit busy lately. Cameron
  17. Hi, Just out of interest I though I would let everyone know when I drained the oil out of my k50 box and weighed it it totaled 25Kg. So just if your interested this is how much they weigh. This weight also included the gear selector. Also I noticed the plug in the g/b sump has a magnet in it. Was this standard in the gear box? and can I get one for the motor? Or will it be easier to late one up? Cameron
  18. Hi, That was not an under statement on the speed. IT DOES 180Km/h at 1/3 throttle. The chassi of the kart is rated for 240Km/h as it is build around a super cart so I can go faster yet and be safe. It also has over sized racing slick tyres so it gets good grip and under the chassi is dead flat to get down force. here is a picture from the rear. Ill post a few up. Ill get some newer ones soon. This kart has been 100% designed and built at home apart from the turbine and compressor unit. From the custom oil pump to the 2500PSI fuel injection system. And if any one can tell me how to post a video clip I can show you it running :lolcry:
  19. hi, Well I got hte KE70 today after a bit of fiddling I go the box off with ease adn motor out and had the car apart in no time. I also got some spare time tonight so I made a jig to allign my clutch out of some spare rod and stainless steel. So Box change will be simple as spline on my KE30 is the same. Just if your interested I have attached a pic of my gokart that I made that can currentyl run 0-100KM/h in 4 flat but yet to install gear box so this will improve. And yet to tune it. Has 80HP in a 125 KG machine and can do 180km/h at 1/3 throttle as the chain has a max of 20,000 RPM and I am reviong hte motor to 60,000 RPM. Also I sit 100mm away from the combustion chamberr and the turbine that runs at a nice cool 1000 degrees C..lol If you stop moving you have to jump out fast as it gets hot fast..lol Enjoy pic. Cameron P.S. this is an old pic I have since re done the power turbine drive side to increase the power output
  20. Hi, Good idea with hose nozzle but I just though of one to broom handle..or really anything circular in shape and same diameter as clutch hole..lol Cameron
  21. Hi, No I know what I'm doing I just what to do it right as I need my car so I wanna know everything that can or could go wrong or hold me up and then go at it so I don't lose time. I have build 2 chev's and build jet engine so I have a fai idea about mechanics. With the gear box input shaft for allignment of the clutch I'm in Ipswich Brisbane if your close. It would be a big help. Cameron
  22. Hi, The gasket I talk about I was meaning isnt there a seal between the motor and the gear box? or do the two metal surface just bolt up together? Also the clutch shudder in the torana was from the original clutch holden put in when we redid it it went away. And we found out holden did it up wrong (when removing some bolts were looser). And the car had it since new the shudder. When you say miss allignment of the clutch could cause shudder how do you over come this? As I don't have an allignment tool (shaft from an old gear box). How do I then allign it? As I though I bolt clutch to fly wheel with plate in centre or as close as possible then I just slide gear box on? Also does anyone have a list o what I should do first to remove the gear box? what is the best way to attack it so I don't undo the wrong things first and then delay my self for hours? Thanks Cameron
  23. Hi, Well fingers crossed ratio is stamped on the diff as it is a blown diff so can't turn it..lol With the fly wheel if you put it on wrong you will get shudder as this happened on the torana when we had the motor out so if possible the torque settings would be great :lolcry: With the flex plate if the one on the KE70 doesnt allign with my 3K motor can I use the one on the KE30 4 speed to adapt it? As I am a bit un sure about how to go about it? Will I be able to use one or do I need a new flex plate? Also with the gasket between the motor and the box is it reusable and if not how much do they cost? Thanks Cameron
  24. Hi, OK back on topic the cross member will have to be drilled if I have to use my original one I got in my KE30. But can I use the one from the KE70 and use it in the KE30 so I don't have to drill holes in the original? Also I have read some diff's in the KE70 5 speeds were different ratios to the diff the 4 speed had. This will mean even if my speedo cable fits in to the box I will have an inaccurate speedo. How can I over come this? Also what can I do to find out what diff my car has to see if it is different or the same ratio as the KE70 and find out if my speedo will be different? Also the clutch I have on my KE30 if it is worn I will use the fly wheel and clutch from the KE70 will this then match the input shaft on the box? And will it all still meet up? And since I will be removing the fly wheel off the motor does anyone have the torque settings for the flywheel bolts on a 3K motor to set my torque wrench to so I don't warp the fly wheel? Also how heavy is on of these K50 boxes could a average man lift one by him self? Thanks Cameron
  25. Hi, If my spedo cable will be different is it a matter of swapping the one from KE70 into my KE30? will it affect speedo reading? Also what clutch and fly wheel will be better one from the KE30 or KE70? Do they both have the same hole pattern? As the KE70 has a racing 6 spring clutch mine has standard KE30 clutch with 375,000km on it..lol Also witht eh cross member will I have to drill any new holes? As I have about 1 week ot do the change and I need the car going so do you guys know any hassels that might come up fixes and anything else I should know? Thanks Cameron
