But ont he high pressure pump if it picks fuel up from the ottom wont the fuel run pass the pump anyway just get through it and crap? I But if I think about it to even if fuel gets seeps throught eh vanes in the pump into the fuel rail the rail has the pressure reg on one end so it will hold the fuel there so...but I woudl still like a timer to make the car more spiffy adn just to have it..lol As a 555timer circuit piss easy to do for any application.. Cameron

With a tank being in the engine bay the lift pump will get fuel there BUT.... It will take a while to initally prime. When you key flicks the ignition ont eh car the high pressure pump starts and lift pump. So the added delay in fuel getting to the main pump could fry it faster. I would have the lift pump close to the main pump but lifter has to be in main tank so.... Unless you can fit a 555 time circuit so the lift pump comes on the say 5 seconds later the main pump comes on thus fuel should be at the main pump and reduce wear. Cameron

I'm with Jon. KE30 looks sweet and by what I mean by pannel work as you can see it is thinner so you can see the ridge in KE70 body and locators for hte bumper spend soem $$ and get it smother and put on a KE30 bumper it look overrated as. better than a cut down knee knocker..lol As there ok but even in the photo too_quick provided umm when it shorter you can start to see the ugly bits on the body that hides under it so why not use a KE30 one save cutting one straight. Cameorn

A chrome one off a 55/30 fits on the back I belive just a bit thinner so bit of body work to look "better" but they fit not sure about front but. Cameron

HAHAH Des u seen the old coffee machine they have in the local cop shop all they need is $100 more to get a new one..lol So that is the reason for letting you have your license still. as they heard u were making a AE70..lol But I wouldn't complain to much that they have let you keep you license. A drift day at QR would beok-ish. Even if people werent into it they will be talking and other stuff so meh can use it as a meeting point for a day or all go karting there etc so not a bad idea. And there is a drift meet on the 7th of dec and the 21st i belive this month so just some dates. As heat nah doesnt worry me to much..lol So I'm fine spectating at QR in summer..lol Cameron

Gravity feed might work but a high pressure EFI pump run dry for a second or 2 cooks em I have killed abotu 2 VL turbo EFI pumps now due to this..lol . The vanes on the rotor ar rubber and well at there max pressure bend a bit and act like an internal by pass so when dry you melt rubber so I would run a lift pump to be safe. Will you need baffels installed into your fuel tank? Cameron

Ke30 Brake Upgrade To Ae71 Brakes
camerondownunder88 replied to camerondownunder88's topic in General Mechanical
I am wanting to do a AE71/KE70 brake upgrade on the KE30 just so I have less brake fade and so I can use dunnydoor pads and they have a larger surface area on there brakes so a small cheap upgrade as mm I don't think a stock 4K really needs celica vented discs..lol Maybe my 5K if I get one..lol Cameron -
Ben thanks for giving me a space on the FAQ for this. I have a few more head numbers coming my way hopefully a 5K one to so will up date it soon and get it to the FAQ Thanks Cameron

Hi, Was just wanting to find out some information about AE71 brakes. Are they the same as KE70 brakes eg diameter width calipers? As I know KE70 disc brakes and calipers will bolt onto a KE30 with no modifications and then I can use dunnydoor brake pads and have less brake fade and a bigger pad area to increase stopping power by a fraction. As I have a KE30 and want to put the wider disc on the car to decrease brake fade and I am able to get some AE71 brakes and caliper to suit cheap so can anyone tell me if they are a straight bolt on swap for the whole unit? eg there same as KE70 one so they will or did there bolt pattern on the caliper change mount spot etc? Once upon a time.... There was a KE30 corolla that was about to get given away to a car yard on trade for the parents new car so I couldn't have that so the next day I went and got the car for FREE  can't beat that. So this is the car. This was after I had it for about a week and the first thing needed doing was lighting as standard head lights poor. So I just got some good spot lights and put them on. As earlier this car had a crash and the bumper bar was killed so the new one from the wrecker after being re-chromed had spot light holes in it all ready so in they went. But on my list of to do is new head light so I can use some better globes. But just for the hell of it here is another pic. But the car is currently sporting a 3K-C with 475,000KM on the motor. The rest of the car is pretty standard for a Aus spec KE30 like a BW diff 4 speed gear box and a nana weather sheild. But over the years my car has had a few hits so below are a few pics. But after every crash parts were replaced repainted and it got a few better bits like a KE55 bonnet :) This hit below got me my new bonnet so opted for a KE55 one  Next hit got me a new front guard and the old one was rusted out to so new panels here we come. This was also when I got a new bumper re dipped to :)BLOODY COMMODOORS Next a limo hit me at round about coming off Brisbane international airport. So again new rear bumper and light :hmm: Then a 4x4 decided to back into the side of car. lifter it half off ground to was impressed also pissed. New door :y: Well that is some hits others have happened and been fixed usually minor ones like a trolley so insurance just resprayed so if I ever wash my car it looks pretty clean and is very straight and rust free. Currently only rust is under the fuel cap and on that guard. Well enough of crashes. But after looking around on what I can do with this car I decided to just do some minor mods I can do to get a bit more omph out of it and keep it economical as this car will be getting me to Brisbane and back to Ippy every day for a year and well ill have no money for fuel as is so nothing to crazy is planned as I really want a KE20 so save it for that. But about a month after owning it the starter died :( Turns out the rear engine seal is leaking and oil killed it. So out with the old in with the new one from my KE70 parts car. You will notice in pics below the old KE30 original starter is bigger and it had less power. So car now starts easier :) Oh old startor you can see is also black with oil muck. So after a while I decided to do a whole engine swap instead of getting the 3K rebuilt. So I bought a KE70 for $50 :) Was a running car but diff was screwed (blown was run dry and through a creek) and this cause it to lock the wheels ever 50 meters so it was going to be my parts car. It was sporting a 4K-C and a 5 speed gear box and a NEW heavy duty clutch and had new valves just put in and had the head shaved a fraction. So this is the car below. And removed in a day was 1 4K and a 5 speed box. Pics of inside 5 speed box just for ooo factor. Well enough for one night will update later. Cameron

Why a 4K head but wouldnt that drop CR? Or was it shaved? And I knew mine had some left in it when I was aproching factory red line doing 70 in second..lol Cameron
