  1. Hi, HAHAH yeah 1500 degress umm yes it was well kinda scary as the GT was spooling to :ninja: But it did go highter in that run till i shut it off. So mmm really scary hobbie I must say as well mmm really gets ur heart going..lol I aslo see EX-MR2FREAK you had a pic of a SC12 I belive blower..lol mmm is it being used..lol? I might be getting a blower on XMAS day my cousin has her blower off her old V8 dunny door so mmm if all goes well..lol So ill keep you posted but if anyone hears one at a decent price well let me know:) Also on jumping castel blowers they are good BUT finding one..lol looked into this a bit also minimal pressure from them really there a massive LB. As so much air in the castle when you jump well can't go far so it stays up so they can't actually supply much pressure belive it or not. And the fan design on them is really poor so it would be hopeless efficency from it :hmm: Cameron
  2. hehehe Yeah leaf blower was doing great for a while till I decided to add back pressure as I used to run 0PSI and not the LB just can't do it :ninja: As mmm starting with a leaf blower now is umm exciting to say the least..lol starts take ages temps woo well lets not say so mmm need a big source of air..lol And belive it or not my BRAND new huge air comp is the biggest before it goes to 3 phase power motors and umm full pressure on the jet nozzle. It can't even make the compressor move so it is also out as many people have said use an aircompressor..lol But heres some numbers for some light reading..lol My jet kart at idle will be flowing ~200 cubic ft per minute ( 0.25 lbs/sec ). If I used a supercharger supplying that 200 cu ft/m and running at a poor 50% efficiency and say 2 psi output pressure , I'd have a 20 deg C temp rise through the blower and would need ~13 bhp to drive it . But I'll only be needing <1psi (lowest possible will be about 0.5 PSI), that will cut the power requirement to ~6 bhp and say a 10 deg rise , and at such low pressures hopefully the leakages and efficiency would be better so maybe only a 7or 8 deg C rise and only ~4 bhp needed . So I'm thinking a decent sized truck starter motor driving my supercharger for starts which will be measured in seconds , and your trusty leafblower for those longer cooldowns of the engine as when they are sut off jets need to becooled :-)) Cameron
  3. Thanks Ill google MR2's and see what I can get. Ben with the leaf blower lets just say my GT idles at 5PSI with an extra 2PSI in the exhaust so I run about 7 PSI total pressure at start up. I can start the jet with the leaf blower BUT it is a slow spool up and it wet starts adn temps get up to about 1500 degrees + so I well risk melting shit then. So if I had a source of air and at pressure it will be better and a faster spool as my leaf blower only gets the compressor spinning to about 5,000 RPM and the jet idles at 30,000 RPM so they just can't cut it. Also my leaf blower I tested it for pressure and it make 0.3PSI so there a bit low. And the biggest sthil leaf blower on there market only makes 0.6 PSI with mods so I think a supercharger setup will be better. Cameron
  4. HAHAH you are right raven this will probably be like trying to find a compressor map for a turbo. MMM hard as most companies don't release them as it is there secret on how there turbo works so they are rare. Makes life hard when building jets with no compressor map..lol Cameron
  5. Hi, I'm just wanting information on the super charges that were straped to the 4agze motor or any other toyota super charger. The purpose is that I need about 200 CFM at about 1-2 PSI to start my jet engine minimum. I have researched some SC and found they will do this easily but I want something compact so I instantly though about the toyota one. So if anyone can shed some light on how much air one of these babies can push what is the max pressure etc it would be much appreciated. Thanks Cameron
  6. MRMOPARMAN: Yes I have considered doing what you said where you get all VN, camira etc sensors and a haltech ecu as I saw one on ebay for $200. And then adapting this to a ford TBI purely because the ford TBI bolts onto a K manifold. I just htough the ford ecu was reprogramable so figured id get it with the TBI when I sourced one but if it isnt reprogramable with my lap top i will no longer be using one..lol And yes on old motors where TBI will bolt on it is a good idea. As fast easy injection with some not all the benifets of TBI and it can save a bit more fuel over a carby as they have fixed jets and injectors can vary the speed at which they open thus saving fuel. Thanks Cameron
  7. The reason for wanting a CFI, TBI system or what ever you want to call it is to turbo a K motor. I have parts here for a turbo adn well been offered a mmm CHEAP shal we say T28 working turbo so it will be a fun projecct and if I can geta cheap un used TBI system off a car with a manifold patternt that will fit on or with an adaptor plate like any ford system I will be happy as it will save me having to fiddle around with a carby. And yes EA sorry I had the wrong model I'm my head I will use an EA ECU. Also the TBI system was designed to just get rid of a carby and use old factory parts till a better solution was made this is why chev ford and that did this. So it is better than a carby if setup good as at idle you have better fuel flow cold starts are easier adn so on. But I can see faults in it as well it is usually about 2 injectors jsut firing away and fuel just finds its own way to a cyclinder. But in all factory records I have dug up in the day all chev adn fords TBI systems ran better usually gave more torque and improved economy so for a turbo setup it should be a good choice. And as Raven said a lot of people are gettign rid of there TBI setups for another injection type so I should source one for cheap. Also the reason for looking this way is a K injection setup is hard to source adn hard to get power out of as I said in a past post some mods they need to get them going. And the VL turbo EFI fuel pump I have hear I belive can push the K injectors open as they like lower pressure so I would again have to source new injectors for a K setup. So it is the only reason for looking into TBI. Cheers Cameron
  8. Hi, Ok ill go searching on the XE as I had you tell me they don't have TBI but a mechanic from denmac ford tell me they do and a info page i found on one so ill take you word for it and go for a newer model. As even if the XE had TBI I would still prefer the newer one as they had a better computer. JUst if you plan this be careful the last Ford TBI system had security in it like smart lock and I was told I will have trouble wireing this up and if I don't the computer wont start the car as it will think it was stolen so. Cameron
  9. Hi, Yes earlie EB was TBI. But the XE was alos optional TBI if you didnt want a webber. But ford no longer make spare part for this TBI anymore so I will prefer the newer EB one. If it has aweber pattern. As if you have a webber adapter for a rolla you can bolt on TBI and have injection for about $100 if you get parts and do it your self cheap. Then it is easy turbo. The mazda is on Ausrotary.com at: http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/vi...69dbc39bb774626 You will haev to sign up to see it but if you can't be bothered here are a few pics. So yes it is turboed..lol But can you change the injectors in a TBI system for ford? but ill look at a local wrecker for a few different TBI systems. Cameron
  10. Oh I though the TBI came out ont eh XE as it was optional and it had the same stud pattern as a webber so it can bolt to a rolla. As I have pictures and info on a 1.4L mazda running TBI off a ford so it is just a webber adaptor plate and u can have TBI. So same as a webber. Also thanks for other car ideas eg pulsar N13 , early camiras never knew they had them. Do you know anymore that have them? In hte small engine market? Also in the TBI ford system can you changethe injector? Cameorn
  11. Hi, Well I have found spark when ever we were trying the HT lead near a bolt so no good. As on the side of a K dissy where the earth lead goes to earth the points and condenser I replaced it as I found a crack that went through the ceramic insulator and this was probably causign the coil to earht and no spark and then car would just die. But I have got this problem to the dizzy at least so if it happens again I will know where to look. ALso how hot willa resistor get while the car is well running for say 5min and you feel it as well mine was warm to hot so might be problem as resistance goes up but ill keep this in mind. But I just replaced my points in the dizzy when I got a full cheak over from a mechanic freind at his shop he spent all day on it about 2 weeks ago after doing the 4K swap so it isnt my points. But on a side note a holden 6 dizzy is well pretty much the same so I got dads out and found there insulator block is rubber and fits a corolla so probably better than having a weak breakable ceramic insulator there so might be a future change. Cameron
  12. Hi, Belive it or not I had this same prblem 2 times today RACQ saving me both times. Well here goes the story: I was driving dad to mechanic going along nicely not a sound of problem and all of a sudden motor dies stereo off so knew it wasnt that so rolled to side of the road and tried stuff to get it going again no go!!! So I called my sister to drive up with fuel fuel incase i was empty as fuel gauge in hte KE30 is dicky (oh I also did a 4K-c swap out of a KE70 with K50 box about 2 weeks ag) but wasnt the fuel so I rang RACQ So he fiddled around a bit and reconed it was my new tacho I installed which I swapped off too_quick was well he thinks shorting or spark jumpign throught the signal lead on to body. So with tacho removed it ran so drove home all good so first problem it was the tacho but when I got ome I plugged it back in and it ran so probably not it...... then driving home tonight from an outing car dies again so i got out played for 30min with stuff on electrics like RACQ did earlier no go. So Il ran home as car stopped on return trip so jogged home drove honda back rang RACQ AGAIN. they came out AGAIN and it was the same guy. So he went straight ot eh electrics again. Started playing with it took dissy cap off as he said coil was fine so he moved the points ( brand new just had car major service after doign motor swap). After a bit he said to crank it over NOTHING..... So then he moved wires in the dizzy that goes to the earth block and has the wire running out of the dizzy which is an earth. Then he said crank it again. Cranked it walla it went so fault this time was.............. A small bakerlight insulator on the dissy housing which this wire runs through. As it has broken apart with age so the spark when it the wire slightly moves jumps through there instead so motor has no spark all of a sudden and causing the motor to die so cheak ALL THE EARTHS in the dizzy as it will be a electrical fault as man K motors can be flogged to the shit hosue and still run so will be a small minor problem Cameron
  13. Des, My uncles LX torana race car has a fuel pump wired into a manual switch to turn it on and off but for a road car as mike said just hook it ingo your oil pump sender. But with this way if you need some fuel pressure to get good fuel atomisation to get hte motor going and it takes a while to get oil pressure you will crank for a while till you get A) oil pressure B) then fuel pressure C)then car will go so a good battery a must. But in your new honda the parentals bought when you turn the key to on the pump runs till pressure is reached then you can hear it stop. If you then start the car it starts to run again. Maybe rig the pump up like this? Cameron
  14. Is all the oil pump housing tight like it not pumping but cover of pump lose so oil coming out there? Or internaly is it all meeting up eg oil holes so it can flow? Also when you ran the motor with no oil pressure did it make any noises or a bearing hitting from low oil pressure etc? Cameron
  15. Just a quick note on the Toyota TBI system the return spring in it can fatigue so badly that the sensor won't return to its normal closed-- throttle position when you release the throttle. Apparently there known for this so if you get a 2nd hand unit cautious of this. Cameron
  16. Hi, Is the carby pattern on the suziki manifold the same as a corolal K motor? also can you get pics up of the toyota TBI and what 1.3L is the TBI off of? Cameron
  17. Hi, So with a TBI do you HAVE to run an electronic dizzy? I currently run a MSI CDI kit on the car that the points flick as the sensor then the little computer of the MSI does the rest so ill have to look into this a bit there. Also so the last model of the falcon TBI is the saem pattern? As this is my plan to run TBI on a K motor as well the standard K fuel injection isnt that great and to get power out of it is hard like eg fitting 13B rotary injectors adn a VL turbo throttle body to the front of it but it will still lack from what I am told so I was thinking a TBI ona 3K big port manifold might be the go. Also anyone know the shape of the injector that fits into the TBI off the falcon? Also the aftermarket computer that would fit eg what type you said fuel only type but what features are these missing from a new modern computer? Also is the falcon one useable liek can I re-program it as I was told the EA falcon one was better had more control of the TBI so if possible info on the EA falcon computer would be appreciated. Cameron
  18. Hi, Just collecting information on a project I plan to start one day involving a K motor and ford fuel injection. So my main question is. The model that came out with the webber on it the XE I think it was also was optional with TBI fuel injection. Now ford ran a similar fuel injection system right up to the EA falcon. So I was woundering are they the same TBI unit or aiflow meter is the SAME mount pattern to the intake manifold there bolted to? Or after the XE with the manifold did it change to big bannana runners etc? Pics appreciated if anyone has a good under bonnet pic of a EA and down falcon fuel injection system. If they own a falcon Cameron
  19. MMM well inital idea out the windown. Did you pull the oil pump apart? As the main rotor that spins to pump oil could be slipping on the shaft as I have seen some wiht a pin in it or a press fit so maybe it is slipping? Cameron
  20. Hi, If the piston in the oil pump is jamed in it is the pressure relief valve so I would imagine you would havve to MUCH pressure. But wwhat could of happened is the piston jammed and then over pressured the motor and pushed all the oil out or it got burnt. So while driving was there much smoke? Also the small piston with oil on it some can be hard ot remove so have you tried so wire and pushing it from the other side where oil touches it? as the oil can stick it in a bit sometimes? Cameron
  21. Hi, Was just looking at the heads off a K motor and I know the 4K-E head had smaller ports than the normal 4K head (this is for any K motor just using 4K as example as it the heads I have). And was reading about the 4age motor that said the small port made more power due to increased velocity through the ports. So researching the 4K-E setup I saw that the 4K-E had more torque. Is this due to smaller ports and for a hotted up K motro would a smaller 4K-E head be better to use so we can get increased air velocity into the K motor? Thanks Cameron
  22. Me and Trev lifted a K motor out of my KE30 and used motor bike trailer straps to hold it to the roof so one lifted and one tightened the straps easy..lol Just going in a crane would be good so to save cost of crane hire remove it by your self. Cameron
  23. Hi, I made those plans as I did a 4K swap in my car and couldnt aford to buy a crane but had spare metal and a RAM at home. But I was able to loan a crane so it saved me making it still. Crane hire is about $50 a day here in QLD so probably about the same for Tas. But the plans might come in handy on the forum for someone one day so though I should post them up. Cameron
  24. Hi, can't help you on crane bt got some scrap metal? As I did this one day at super cheap..lol Got one of there tape mesures and one of there cranes so I made plans for it and added a pic so enjoy. Cameorn P.S. sorry about it being in inches.
