  1. 700kg + 180hp @ 9500rpm = win
  2. oooh SSR-G.... fancy :P And its not burgundy! Sooo many burgundy 130's with failing clearcoat...
  3. 6500 is pretty damn good. If you're getting a new manifold, may I suggest getting a dump pipe made up while you're there. Makes a WORLD of difference. Instant spool up, mountains more torque. 4x4 that chirps 2nd = win :P
  4. Heh... This is pretty much exactly what I do to every movie I watch. http://www.cracked.com/video_18156_a-trail...movie-ever.html I am a bitter, cynical, disenchanted old curmudgeon. Get off my lawn.
  5. You know what's funny? Even the VE's still do that...
  6. Just make sure you don't crack that rear centre garnish when (not if, when) you take it off to clean out all the gunk that is (not might be, is) inside it because the seals are made of fail and assembled by knuckle dragging monkeys. A new one is more than the car is worth. ($300)
  7. Admittedly, my Chaser also has a fantastic auto... It too has the lockup converter and a MECHANICAL linkage between the shifter and the selector, so when you're shifting down the gate it actually goes into the gear you want, without any electronic intervention. Mind you, I don't usually drive it in a spirited manner... Its more of a cruiser. I have other cars with real gears for superhappyfuntime driving :(
  8. Especially THAT particular manual transmission :P
  9. The 2LTE has gotta be one of the worst engines Toyota made. The older, mechanical injected 2LT is infinitely better. Replaceable cyl liners, nitrate hardened crankshafts and bigger rods, main journals, and oil injection under the piston skirts... Mine was running close to 100kw on stock internals and epic boost levels. That said, the KZ (3.0) are light years better than both. MUCH more useable torque. And its only usually the automatics that overheat... Radiator, double row a/c condenser, oil cooler and A/T cooler all shoved up front + Australian heat = Fail I flogged the absolute pisser out of my LN61 on and off road, low range crawling, towing, down the beach... all up here in the sweltering tropics on a stock radiator and never managed to cook it. Moral of the story is don't buy an automatic LN130 Surf... But a manual KZN130 should be relatively safe.
  10. I ain't givin you no tree fiddy you goddamn loch ness monster!
  11. I wouldn't buy one on principle, for the same reason I don't buy cheap knockoff parts from China.
  12. If its a retrofit, its defeatable. I doubt it will be incorporated into the ECU... Still a f*cking stupid idea though. Wasn't it the over-complicated electronics that got them into trouble in the first place? I'm not sure who to despise more. Toyota, or the dumbshit Americans who don't know how to drive them.
  13. Jae has youtube, evidently
  14. 22RE have WAAAY more torque than granny could ever need... I'll just leave it at that
  15. You're brave for even eating something from a servo.... Especially if its the type of food that goes BING when its ready
  16. You'll find most vehicles have a slightly narrower rear track, especially front drivers. Its especially noticeable on Camrys and Magnas. The reason for this is it partially negates understeer and is more directionally stable at highway speeds and under brakes. Not to delve too deeply but it means you can run a bit more caster, toe, dynamic camber etc. on the front... Basically idiot-proofing the car for the lowest common denominator/women/asians (jks :blinks:) As with all factory settings, its a compromise between performance, safety, and comfort. A track/performance car is a different animal entirely, and its more beneficial to run equal or wider rear track and more front camber and toe, bigger swaybars etc. You'll lose some 'road manners' but gain exponentially when driving closer to 10/10ths.
  17. Its not *that* difficult... But to make it easier on yourself, Remove the drivers side wheel and the plastic splash/engine cover. Make sure you have the vehicle properly supported on something other than just a jack, and then you can do most of the job sitting on your arse inside the wheelarch :blinks: Prop the engine up as well and remove the top driver's side engine mount if you need a bit more room to move. Instead of paying a mechanic, buy yourself a decent set of ratcheting spanners and wonder how you ever lived without them :lolcry:
  18. She musta had it on rabbit instead of turtle. Electric torque oversteer is a bitch.
  19. AE86's aren't worth 10k either... But the market dictates what something is worth, based entirely on what someone is willing to pay.
  20. See kids.... This is what happens when you have an unsecured pod filter. *not in picture - Burning orphanage, hundreds of dead kittens, and schoolchildren deciding to take up smoking crack*
  21. Yup. If you had the the 'wrong' front, you could use the 'right' guards for quads... Which are the standard KE70 ones. You'd need a bonnet as well though.
  22. If you have the normal 7x5" rectangular headlights you should be able to fit the quads. Need a pic to confirm.
