  2. yeh i entered this car but not sure if i will make it, steering rack is out getting fixed and its not easy to find bits cause its a chaser rack, gearbox is coming out tomorrow night and getting convertor looked at saturday and getting box built monday/tuesday and will put it back in wednesday/thursday night then maybe dyno thursday/friday night to make sure gearbox works so doesnt leave much time for anything else. plus its my brothers 21st birthday saturday and he is having a party about the same time racing starts. if i do end up racing it will only be pump fuel and street tires so it doesnt run a 10, want to go back in a few weeks to run a good number. then cage goes in if i got any money left :yes:

  5. spent the last couple of days trying to get 1600cc injectors to have some form of idle quality, and its not the easiest of tasks lol but its getting there, microtech with 3 bar map sensor needs more tuning points damnit. when we get it sorted can bring on the e85
  6. the parts i need retail for around $600 (didnt cost me that much as i sell parts for a living), this includes thinner steels aswell so you can fit the extra clutches. so add a mv's stage 1.5 valve body onto that which i think retail for $375 and you have a very strong box for around the $1000 if your able to build it yourself.
  7. went and bought 510 litres of e85 today so should last me and a mate at least a month i hope, also bought most of the parts i need to build my gearbox. standard 1jz a340 boxes have 7 clutches in first, 5 clutches in second and 4 clutches on third, my new box will have 7 in first, 6 in second and 5 in third. which with the mv's stage 1.5 valve body makes it pretty much the same as there 500rwkw box.
  8. yeh definately have to go down one weekend, have a few people that want to come for a watch. I'm going to get 530 litres of e85 tomorrow so should last me a couple of weeks, if my box breaks on dyno will be changing it straight away them going fairly soon to race
  9. i may have to venture down in the next few weeks for some runs aswell if mine lasts the dyno
  10. just fitted another oil cooler to try and be nice to my gearbox before it gets on the dyno and explodes and shiny injectors
  11. his old engine was just a standard 5.7 with t51r it made 646rwhp on pump 15psi ran 10.68 @ 134mph, new one is iron block with L98 heads and aftermarket crank rods and pistons still with t51r turbo. it will be tuned soon but should make some decent power for a daily driver. as long as i beat him into the 9's i will be happy, his diff might not like the drags this time round. 30 spline cressida diff for the win, dodgy 28 spline commodore diff BANG!

  13. not sure how long til 9's but it should go close next time out. would be happy if i can beat 10.17 that puts me up to second fastest 1jz in australia then yes we will show him, this seems to be turning into battle of the fastest daily driven car in toowoomba and i don't like being beaten by holdens
  14. haha i wish it was that easy he has 6.0 litres and boost, but i will give it a go with my 2.5 litres show those pushrod v8's how its done
  15. only one 44 the other one was for a mate, will be getting 2 drums again while I'm there one for a mates turbo vx commodore the only problem is if i get him a drum he will be faster than me

  17. no 2jz going in this car, couldnt bring myself to do it, i much prefer the 1jz. going to take boost to probably around 28-30psi and see what happens, there could possibly be things breaking lol
  18. couldnt help myself so just ordered a set of 1600cc injectors, was going to go 2000cc but there really not needed so 1600cc will do. my motor, gearbox and turbo will all break before i run out of injector now
  19. yeh suspension is ok for now its running ok 60ft so will leave it for now and see what happens yeh would love to of had some more cracks at it, i broke the beam on the first run so got on the brakes early and lined up again and ran the 10.56. with a 1.5 60ft and an extra 3-4mph its got a 10.2 in it with practice, but probably just add some power to make it easier
  20. it still squats but is alot better than before, it used to hit the bump stops and scrub the tires but doesnt anymore
  21. this may answer your question, it is american hp but so is more like 780rwhp in australian terms. 1jz have shorter rods than a 2jz which means they rev alot harder safely and makes them a stronger motor, but 2jz has the extra capacity which helps it make more power so strenght wise they are pretty similar. but if you work on capacity vs power 1jz would come out on top boost cut is because i have a fully sick bleed valve, I'm to tight to buy a boost controller. because of the different altitude between toowoomba and ipswich you always run 1-2 psi more in ipswich than you will in toowoomba because the air is thinner up here so you just have to adjust your boost controller slightly. i turned my bleed valve in half a turn but brobably needed a full turn, when i go to bigger injectors i will just turn boost cut off when i race but because my injectors are maxed didnt want to risk it.
  22. video, now that i have watched it you can hear that it hit boost cut in second gear aswell, theres a couple of poping/miss noises
  23. 2jz hilux is an excellent idea i have a hilux daily and a 2jz in the shed its pretty tempting injectors now are 1000cc i could get a little more out of them as i only have 40psi base pressure, but I'm going to something like 2000cc, and yes bottom end is stock, gearbox is stock except for mv's valve body and diff is stock
  24. didnt rain thankfully, ran 10.560 @ 128.13mph 1.606 60ft. hit boost cut in top gear and it killed a couple of mph, going by half track mph should be running around 132mph either way got told to go home lol. so now time for bigger injectors again and more boost. sucks to only get one run seeing as i have no cage i think i can still leave the line a bit harder so its got a 1.5 60ft in it and 132mph should see 10.3 but might just add another 100hp and go straight for the 9's, sounds easy but never is. also this is still full street trim, driven to the track and driven home, i could pull the interior out and find some lighter front wheels there would be a few tenths there but ruins the street car part for me
  25. just about enough for every day of the week i get bored easy so need a variety 2jz would be nice but need some funds before that happens
