  1. Looks Awesome!! the motor is going look great sitting in the car also. Can you post more pics of the dash? I'm thinking of putting extra gauges where the original AM radio unit is.
  2. One Day, I'm going to put some bolt-on's on my KE55 Coupe and I'm going to use stainless Nutserts from Profast, stainless Bolts and Loctite These ones But I'm lucky enough to have the installation tool at work.
  3. The lads at the local auto shop used a brand called Mackey Consolidated - Sure Track Automotive Bushes. The article number is A2536U. These worked great Just another option Dallas
  4. Hi all, I had a chat with a fella at work - an ex-engineer and car finatic. He thought it could be a problem with the ABV. I've added some pics below. Basically he thought because the outlet pipe is soo large 3" and the intercooler is much larger than stock, (the amount of volume that needs to be pressurised) is too large for the SC12 to overcome vacuum - therefore the ABV will constantly stay open. SO, I shut off the ABV (with a piece of aluminium and bolted the ABV back on) and took it for a drive today and ... ... it made boost! I didn't think of this as this is the original setup and the guy I bought the car off of said that it made boost. So, now I have to work out how to remedy this problem so the ABV can work properly. I don't want to keep the SC on all the time. 5lovegtz, it was blowing a bit of smoke today. Another problem to overcome. I might have to set up the ECU to look after the SC. Another thing to try and work out. Thanks for the patients and help all!
  5. I have no idea how it would be done but i have stumbled across a pic of a KE55 with quads. Looks alright for something different
  6. The engine doesn't sound like it has any knocking or ticking. I'm sure i did the ABV mod correctly see pic I'm at Upper Coomera, Just off the highway behind St Steven College. Where abouts on the coast are you?
  7. The gauge doesn't move at all, it stays on 20 Vac. When the car is off it goes to 0. When you start it, it goes to 20 Vac. When you rev it, with the SC on or off it stays on 20 Vac??? I've checked the my Vac lines against the ABV mod and they all seem to be in the right place
  8. In neutral, I haven't driven it yet. Does it need to be under load? I didn't think it would have to, as the ECU is not connected to the SC.
  9. I think it's the engine... ... the reason being the silicon joints don't expand under revs.
  10. HI all, As the title says, I have a 4agze, Its in a Ke55, I'm running a FMIC, Microtech ECU, and the Pulley is hooked up to a switch, via a relay and I have completed the ABV Mod. When the motor was out of the car, I played with the SC and it sucked and pushed air through. When I start the engine the Boost gauge runs at 20 In.Hg. When I flick the switch you can see the Clutch pop in, it spins faster BUT when you rev it, the gauge doesn't move. I've disconneded the Gauge and blown air through, and it shows pressure. The Silicone bends and clamps are new and tight. Any Ideas?? Thanks
  11. Another one here! I'm at Upper Coomera.
  12. No way in hell! The fibre-glass is staying. It's off cause the next step is to make a set of moulds and make a clean set of fibre-glass bits.
  13. G'day all, It's been a long time between posts and man, have i been busy. I finally made my mind up and decided on upgrading the engine. I was lucky enough to buy a cheap Sprinter with a 4a-gze, T50, T-Series diff and Microtech. The past 6 months i have completed the Engine, Transmission and Diff transplant, Fuel system, Brake booster & MC upgrade and Engine wiring. Last week i started it for the first time. Here's some pics and a movie I'm over the moon. I just have to mount the 2 piece drive shaft and make an exhaust and the conversion is done
  14. I have heard Cusco sell an adjustable top for the KE55 here
  15. Hi all, I'm in the process of putting a 4agze into a 55 coupe. I've searched and read a lot of posts about custom mounts for a 4a into a Ke. It seemed easy enough. The passenger side mount was too easy, but the drivers side is proving to be difficult. The Sc hits the rubber mount (the middle hole is the one, i would like to use the top left hole but as you can see there's no chance in hell) Are there any pics out there (that i can not find) of a 4agze mount for a KE crossmember?? Can anyone offer advise?? Also, At the moment I'm using rubber mounts from an AE86, they were lying around, very thick. I'm thinking of using a thinner (maybe smaller) rubber mount to bring the face out so i have some room around the Sc. Any recommendations for thin rubber mounts??
  16. Hi All, I'm in the process of putting a 4agze into my KE55 coupe. I've installed a T-series diff and thinking of ways of upgrading the rear suspension (hoping to use it as a road and track car). I found this thread on AE86DC. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=33 I'm wondering if the top mounting cup is different in size to the KE70 or AE86? does anyone know? The idea will be to use the coilovers for the suspension and just the top leef (of the original leef pack) as a locator for the diff rather than setting up the trailing arms. Comments???
  17. Hi Ladies and Gents, As the title suggests, I'm wanting to lower my 55 coupe. Before i start ringing around is there anyone in the club that can steer me towards (or away) from any places on the gold coast (or south bris, i live at Coomera) that can invert the eyes of the leef springs. Thanks
  18. I'm raising the funds for a GZE conversion for my KE55 and have come across Pulley Brothers (http://www.pulleybros.com.au/). Their on the Gold Coast and make a range of pulleys for SC12's and SC14's. If i remember correctly, they might sell some of their stock on eBay?? It might be a start...
  19. The trailer is awesome, i can hardly believe you've built it in a such sort time. I just wished i had the room to build and store something like that. Hope you get it finished in time.
  20. Thanks all for the encouraging words :( . Fingers crossed I should be priming Monday and hopefully I'll have the flare molds made before i go back to work the following Monday. If i have enough Gell Coat and Glass left over i'll take a mold of the Wing also. Here's a pic of the front with the bumper attached. I believe the bumper is off a KE35 (no black rubber ends). I have a set aside to attach later or i might just leave them off
  21. LOVE the rims!! the engine is going to be awesome. Good luck
  22. Good point JiP, i hadn't thought of that. I'll take some pics and post tomorrow
  23. All items were bought from ebay - B&J Vintage Retro Shop. postage time wasn't too bad either
  24. HI JiP, I wasn't planning on making a mold of the wing but anything is possible. We'll see how i go
