MH, being another of my groomsmen at my wedding, would have been under the impression that there was a time limit. Back in the day, if you hadn't scored VMS point in the preceding six (ten?) years, you would be eligible for novice again. I'm working on the same premise in my previous comment. They must have changed it to prevent people like Col, Maurie and myself coming back and "burgalling" the class. :)
I have accumulated the odd VMS point in the past.

I still remember the first time I met any of the guys at a "tech" session at Chateau Dwarf. Not much tech got done, but a lot of stories told!
I also found a photo of two of the earlier members at Willowback Autocross. :)

How much money do you have and how handy with the tools are you?

I have a steel Armstrong jack that I've now had for nearly 15 years.
Great in the workshop, but a heavy shit of a thing going racing. When I go racing again in a serious way, I'll get an alloy one for that purpose.
That said, great workshop jack that is still going strong with no leaks.

Correct. You scallop the sides of the bores. Also the sump needs a bit of massaging too.

Nav's also appreciate a bit of advanced warning before you go in, too. Last one I had I gave the Nav 120m of warning!

5k crank won't swing in a 3k block. The big ends hit the sides.

Work out what you've spent on it and ask around a third to a half of that value.

Deni Autocross is to this day the best autocross track I've driven, and I've driven a few.
Do yourself a favour and go up early Saturday and have a run. You wont be disappointed. :)

For the right price I can supply the jet engine. No, I wont swap for a fish tank and a VL commodore.

I take motorsport photos.
I'm not a Pro's arsehole.
I don't watermark them.
Anybody whos car I take a photo of is welcome to the shots, because I race too, and I like photos of my car to come back to me. :)

I was around when Brian Shanahan was at the height of his powers. I came second in class to him at least three times, possibly as many as five times. A couple of years it was only by a point. :(
Got more than one round trophy, but never took home the season.
