thanks for the comments. I'm still unsure as to what to do with the front struts . I'm not doing much to the rear, just gonna replace the shockers n replace the bushes on the leaves etc. but i dunno the best way to upgrade the front struts. I'm gonna be using a Hoppers Stoppers brake upgrade, being VZ twin piston brakes. just confused on what would be the best option and how to go about it :bash:. can anyone offer any assistance?

thanks man. yeh no worries, i won't be going over to c the car until after christmas but ill get sum pics for u then.
-
thanks for the comments guys, n yeh its a genuine garrett, i would never trust one of those dodgy cheap asian variants. yeh the front housing has been altered to resemble the HKS version moreso. the holes in the front are meant to allow it to spool up faster or whatever they reckon lol. n yeh iv always wanted a bridgy, whether it be a rough as guts oldskool webber type or injected turbo. i just love the brap lol. ordered plates for it last week, just got them in the mail today, can't wait to chuck em on now lol
-
got some new pics. went to check out the motor yesterday, looks ***en nuts now that its all painted up n rebuilt. my mate took pics during the rebuild process so i could see, so ill chuck afew up aswell showing the port etc. heres how it looks now n just some progress shots my mate took <- shows the bridge port gave all my bits i want chromed/polished to my mate, like the alternator, pulleys, inlet manifold etc so he can get it all done for me n then we'll bolt eveything back up, can't wait! changed my mind on the turbo aswell, the GT35/40 wuldn't have been suitable enough to run with a bridgy as it would'v ran out of puff too soon, changed to a TO4Z instead. heres the turbo
-
cool i thought so, just wasn't 100% sure. haha yeh they look pretty deceiving, theres bugger all too them though when u think about it!
-
stripped the motor down to a bare block today, gonna try take it to my engine builder either today or tommorow, even tho the motor is pretty damn small, its still got a fair bit of weight in it, couldn't lift it up myself to put it in the boot of my car lol. also a pic of the turbo that came off it, not sure exactly what it is, looks like the factory unit, gonna chuck it up for sale anyways as i don't need it.
-
yeh dude, bellhousing is off an RX4, bolts straight upto the 13b that way.
-
heres the supra box, the dude chucked in a spare one aswell, same gearbox, which is sweet. just need to buy a new clutch for it etc. gonna give it a good clean n a coat of paint just so it doesn't look so scummy.
-
lol tell me about it! found and will b picking up a supra 5 speed tommorow including everything to bolt it upto the 13B, which should make it abit more fun :(.
-
i just havta do some homework, find out what the best option would be. ripped out most of the interior today, only thing left in the car is the dash and abit of wiring lol. finding afew dodgey repair jobs/things that the previous owner did so I'm glad that I'm stripping it back n starting from scratch so i know everything is gonna be sweet. heres sum pics, lots of cleaning ahead! <- dodgiest trans tunnel enlargement job iv ever seen, fken held on by tape and a couple rivets.
-
thanks scott ill have to suss it out. n yeh iv pretty much made my mind up on wanting 5 gears n since I'm gonna be fixing up the trans tunnel anyway due to it being rooted i wanna slot a bigger trans in there. tracked down a Supra box from a 2000 model which I'm tempted to nab. having dramas finding shocks to suit the wags so I'm tempted to get coil overs made up for the fronts and going with pedders or whatever for the rear shocks. anyone hav any advice?
-
does anyone know the widest rim i can fit under the rear of these things? is it possible to fit an 8.5" rim or would i need to resort to mini tubbing it?
-
yeh its pretty f@$ked. the previous owner must'v done a dodgy job on it, considering getting it all cut out and getting new metal welded in place, considering I'm changing to an RX7 box which is larger then the Corona box it has atm.
-
got some new piccies, ripped the motor/box and diff out today, only thing left in the body is the interior which ill take out whenever i can be ****ed. taking out the motor myself was abit harder then i thought, but it came out pretty smoothy in the end. now comes the cleaning! I'm running out of space for all my ****! lol.

i havn't spoken to any engineers yet, theres one afew streets away from me, mite go hav a chat over the weekend. n yeh scott it'll be on the road again for sure. i wanna have it all up n running for Easternats next year, even if its not registered etc i can atleast enter it and cut sick out on the track . didn't get a decent chance to give it a run before i started stripping it, was being a c**t of a thing to start, got it afew times but kept dying before i'd get out the driveway lol, so i gave up, damn thing was too flooded.
-
thanks guys. lol the first thing i did was remove the top mount, its so horribly restrictive the way it was. since the corolla bonnet doesn't hav any vents/scoops like RX7's, it would overheat like a bastard in no time. and I'm not a fan of vents n shit n i don't wanna cut up my bonnet so I'm going to a front mount.
-
a mate seems to think they are Starion seats. either way there coming out lol.
-
did a little bit more too it today, all the steering bits are out, front struts, ripped the exhaust out (fken huge), pulled the tailshaft out. only things left underneath are the diff/trans and motor. gonna drop the diff down sometime during the week, once i've sussed it out. while I'm typing stuff, the rear jack stands are supported by the diff axles atm, once the diff is out, what would be a suitable place to put jack stands? as there'll be nothing left underneath.
-
ill see how i go with the existing rad support, might just beable to weld up the existing support. haha cheers mate, won't b on the road for awhile though :P.
-
u mean where its all cut to shit? the previous owner did that to fit the oil cooler piping, dodgiest install iv ever seen lol.
-
thanks for the compliments guys, it should be something different :P, u don't see many ke26 vans around, let alone rotaries. started pulling bits n pieces off of it today, engine is almost ready to pull out, just need to get a crane and I'm sweet. hoping to pull out the motor/box in one hit. most likely end up doing it tommorow. took afew pics of how its sitting atm, starting to look abit bare! yeh i have to look n see what strut would suit me better, I'm definately ditching the ke55 struts, their pretty shagged anyway haha. heres a pic of the seats that are in it, for whoever want to see them.
-
thanks for the comments! I'm gonna talk to afew engineers about it, iv seen standard 13bt setups managing to get engineers in similar car sizes/weight etc too mine. haha yeh i love the transporter badge, I'm keeping that for sure. ill most likely put the seats up for sale here, would b a straight bolt up jobbie in another ke20 or similar :D. it has 215/40/15 Yokohama's on the 15s, they are a mad looking tyre i reckon. gonna get a couple more to replace the skyline stockies on the rear.
-
I'm gonna get some better pics this weekend, including some proper pics showing the rest of the interior so ill get one showing the whole seat. after seeing it get off the truck yesterday i realised why all the transport companies kept complaining about it being too low, its tucking tyre on a 15" rim at the front :D. looks tough like that though haha.
-
thanks guys. i have no idea what the seats came out of, neither does the previous owner. they look similar to oldskool 300ZX seats, their nice and firm though. prolly end up ditching them for something different :D.

after a few weeks of pulling my hair out trying to get my car down from sydney, it finally arrived yesterday. its a ke26 panel van, mostly standard body wise, running a 13bt from a series 4 rx7. getting stuck into it this weekend, hoping to hav the motor/box out so i can start stripping it to get painted. basically replacing everything on the car, to an extent. getting the motor rebuilt, just bought a larger turbo for it, gonna get it bridge ported etc. its running an R31 diff in it atm which should handle the power for a little while, so i won't be touching that much. its running standard r31 disc brakes at the rear, and ke55 disc brakes at the front with ke55 struts. deciding whether to leave the ke55 struts in or get some ta22 struts. upgrading the front brakes to a Hoppers Stoppers commodore brake set up including bigger master cylinder and fitting a booster as the brakes on it now are appalling. the first thing ill be doing though is turfing that top mount, its god awful and doesn't do anything ot reduce heat, considering theres no vents in the bonnet and its basicallly touching the bonnet when its closed anyway. ill be taking pictures all through out so ill hopefully have something worth while to show soon. heres just a couple of quick pics of what it looks like. let me know what you think.
