  1. yeh i realised that today. the guy who i was getting some off rang me n said he was having trouble finding sum. dad did abit of chasing around and found that pedders make reproduction ones, so i'v ordered 2 of those. so i'll see how they go. also, anyone have any tips on releasing balljoints n stuff, like of they are seized in? i haven't got a balljoint cracker handy. I'm replacing the pitman and idler arms. just having difficulty removing the pitman from the thread on the steering box.
  2. yeh thats what I'm deciding too do now. just stuck on taking the brake hose off the bracket, do you actually have to seperate the hose so brake fluid comes out? or is there some other way that i can't see :P, since the bracket is welded onto the strut
  3. ok sweet, ill give that a go tommorow, have to nick some grips from work lol.
  4. i was hoping i wouldn't need to rattle them off. iv got a gun at work, but the car isn't registered so i can't take it there. n havn't got a compressor at home. is ther any other way to loosen them off?
  5. i tried to loosen the top nut just before, the 19mm. but it feels like its flexing or somthin, it doesn't want to loosen. not sure if i should just wrench on it or not?
  6. hey guys, as part of my roadworthy the strut tops need to be replaced as they are all hard and cracking etc. i've got no idea when it comes to corolla's as I'm pretty new too them. do i need to pull the whole strut out? or can i do it in the car? if anyone could give me a walkthrough on replacing these it would be great. i've attached a pic so u know what i mean, in case i've called them the wrong thing, lol.
  7. hey guys, thinking of getting the corolla resprayed in a month or so. its white atm, and would wanna keep it white. just the paint is looking pretty faded and has cracks appearing in places. also has a little bit of surface rust and dints scattered all over it and wavy panels, so i would want to get them straightened. what sort of prices would i be looking at to get the panels straightened and getting the car resprayed? i'd pull all the bits off myself, i'd just need the prep work and spraying done by somebody else. what sort of price gap is there between spraying in acrylic and 2pac? what are some good places around the eastern suburbs i should check out? thanks!
  8. thanks for the help guys :). ill get it all sorted out next week hopefully.
  9. what sort of price am i lookin at for a full set of bushes? if anyone can remember off the top of their heads.
  10. hey guys, I'm in need of some bushes for my corolla. went to get a roadworthy today n got knocked back as basically all my bushes are either perished or are getting there. where abouts can i get bush replacement kits for my rolla? and how much $$ am i looking at to get replacement bushes? cheers.
  11. all good guys, i sorted it out. thanks for the help! now i just need to find another spring contact for the other side as atm its only working on the right hand side.
  12. so how do i do that? i told you i don't kno anythin about electrics, so abit of a walkthrough would be nice.
  13. hey guys, recently aquired a ke20 from adelaide, and found that the horn doesn't work. I'm needing this to work for roadworthy, and since vicroads need to inspect the car themselves since its an interstate car. i pulled off the steering wheel cover and found that the wires for the horn had been cut. I'm not sure where the wires for the horn are, i pulled off the steering column plastic surrounds, but can't really see anything. tried to trace the wires from the horn itself in the engine bay, but they intertwine into the loom and i can't find it. if anyone could give me some pointers that would be great. also are there meant too be 2 spring contact things for the steering wheel buttons? since there is a button on either side, cos i only have 1 contact. i'm pretty useless when it comes to electrics, but any help would be appreciated! cheers.
  14. thanks mate, ill have a look on the weekend n check it out. cheers!
  15. Hey guys, I'm looking for someone in melb that could straighten the front & rear bumpers on my KE20. I'm not sure how much this would cost so if anyone has a ball park figure that would b nice. i would prefer it too be around the eastern suburbs, but i don't mind travelling to the other side of melb or whatever. cheers
  16. Hey guys, I'm Sim, signed up afew weeks ago but thought i'd actually say hi. just recently bought a Ke20 off glenn_87 off this forum to use as a daily, just waiting for it to get sent over from adelaide :S I'm not going to be doing much too it, just gona tidy it up abit, keep it prety much stock. ordered some venetians for it today and am currently on the hunt for the dress trim on the rims, i have the centre hub cap but not the outer ring part. does anyone know of any oldskool toyota wreckers around the eastern suburbs of melb?
