  1. nah never had glass orignally.
  2. got a couple new pictures, slowly getting the car back to metal, theres so many layers of paint its been abit of a trial to get it all off n theres been massive areas of bog which hav't needed to be there in the first place which i had to grind off as it was so thick. the body isn't all that bad really. only found 1 little rust hole so far from my stripping. haven't done anymore this w/e as i went away with the gf but mite get back into it tonight.
  3. ey guys sorry bout the lack of updates. nothing has been happening lately, car has been sitting around getting dust and full of cob webs. was meant to go get painted last december but the painter was jerking me around and i ended up hearing too many bad stories about him so iv backed out. currently stripping the paint off myself n planning to attempt some of the prep work myself, will be handing it over to a proper panel shop to do the colour work/rust repairs etc. will get some pics once its all back to metal etc.
  4. thanks guys :P. i bolted all the hanging panels back onto it today so its ready to goto the panel beaters. just need to put my shitty stockers back on it which ill do later on. almost looks like a car now!
  5. farkkk scott, seeing the pics of your ke26 all painted up n lookin hot makes me miss my 4 door! interested in selling? lol. i need another ke26 to keep the pano company!
  6. felt like chucking on the convo's front n back to see how it looks, only on one side cos i cbf doing the other lol. looks tuff as i reckon :P, can't wait too see how it looks once its all painted etc. the brake kit cost me roughly $800 complete.
  7. got my front brake setup today finally, dummy fitted everything up and it looks sweet, stripped everything off bar the hubs so i could chuck my shitty stock rims on etc so its prety much ready to goto the panel shop now. its nice n snug but everything fits sweet, the kit consists of polished VE commo calipers, BA rotors and gemi hubs with ford 5 stud convo. heres some pics.
  8. wicked thats all i needed to know, thanks mate .
  9. hey guys just wondering if anyone knows the length of ke26 panelvan front doors and ke20 coupe front doors? are they the same doors? if they are ill be very happy as i need a replacement drivers door for my pano. if anyone could help me out that would be great.
  10. i use just as much fuel in my carby 13b then i did with my efi 5L in my old stato, i agree with Taz_Rx, depends on ur driving style.
  11. if you worry about fuel comsumption, don't buy a rotary.
  12. new brake and clutch masters are fitted up now, the brake master was a piece of piss to fit, the clutch master however needed afew holes redrilled n abit of cutting etc to fit nicely, dunno what the previous owner had done to it lol. still need to clean it up abit but it all fits so I'm happy.
  13. thanks for the advice, i ended up going to a local brake joint yesterday during work to have a chat, ended up getting a new ae71 clutch master, cost $45 which is good enough. just need to clean up the butcher job the previous owner did to the firewall to mount the old clutch master!
  14. got my new brake and clutch master cylinders today, all nice n new! the brake master pretty much fits straight into the original mounting for the old master cylinder, just need to open up the hole in the firewall a lil bit n it will be sweet. just need to switch the pedal rod from the old cylinder to the new one then i can trial fit them :bash:
  15. I have an Aisin clutch master cylinder from a late 70's model celica ill be using on my panelvan, it was already in the car when i got it but had been leaking at some stage so the firewall etc is a lil bit eaten around the clutch master. anyway I'm wanting to know of any places in melbourne that can re-seal/re-sleeve my clutch master. i found a place in the US that can supply me with a brand new one but with the aus $$ the way it is atm it wuld cost me $110 just in postage to get it here, so rebuilding the master seems to be the better option. any help would be great! cheers.
  16. i had a good chat to a brake bloke today, told him what brakes I'm running and was asking about boosters n all that, he prety much said that with the big brakes I'm running at the front + installing a larger master (1"), the addition of a booster wouldn't really be required unless i really want that nice soft pedal feel, which I'm not too fussed about really. so for the time being I'm gona stick with the upgraded master and see how it goes braking wise, if its not upto scratch for me ill get a booster for it. but as long as it brakes adequetly for the engineer without the booster, there won't be a problem.
  17. thanks for the comments guys :y:. its gonna be a shade of blue Jono, me n my mate ar gonna mix up a custom shade for it. not really gonna be many more pics for the time being, just trying to sort out afew things while ive got it at home before it goes to get the panel work done. hoping to get my struts finished soon from getting my brake upgrade done so i can dummy fit them. finally decided on what brake system i want to run, i'll be keeping the clutch master what it is now as it works fine however. ill be running a nissan patrol 1" master, dual circuit with a VH44 remote booster mounted on the passenger side of the firewall, will be nice n tight but i have no where else to put it. gonna hopefully sort out some parts this week n try have them for the weekend so i can get them all fitted up.
  18. got the car home today :). dad n i managed to push it up the driveway, can't believ how much heavier it is now with the cage n all that shit in it lol. its safely sitting under the carport atm. will be doing afew bits n pieces over time while I'm waiting to beable to take the car to my mate to paint it. heres some pics!
  19. car will be home tommorow, hoping to have my struts n stuff back this weekend so i can chuck them in, need to sort out intercooler and radiator mounting etc and afew other little things like that then it goes to get sprayed next month and completely rewired then it will be coming back home to have the motor/box dropped in/wired up etc and ill be ready for the first starting, i can't wait to hear it come to life for the first time |blink|. hoping to have everything all done n it on the road mid next year some time, fingers crossed! will take some pics tommorow once its home as the diff and rear wheels will be on :(
  20. thanks scott :jamie:. all race rung on friday sayin the car was all done, diff is in etc so it will be ready to pick up on wednesday, so hopefully i can get the day off work so i can go down there, hand over the $$$ and get it towed home. i was hoping to get it towed directly to my mates that is doing the paint work but he is full up until the start of december, so ill be taking the car to him then. it will give me a chance to do afew fiddly things at home which is good. my front brakes should be done soon so ill be able to whack my front struts back in and put the front wheels on so i can see how it looks :D. its all very exciting. will get pics once i have the car home etc.
  21. you haven't got a boot thingo you can sell me do you scott? with the number plate light assembly also? went back to peter robinsons this morning, the one he sold to my dad was the only tailgate thingo he had, hasn't got any ke26's :jamie:.
  22. ye scott if you could chuck some pics up that wuld b ace. i tried to chuck on the new emblem thingo but its too long and isn't even the right shape for my tail gate, i think i'v been given a ke36 emblem instead, so shitty now :). now i have to darn around trying to go back to see peter about getting the right one :/.
  23. thanks mate :). my dad got some new pics today, showing the fuel cell fitted up and the front seats mounted, aswell as the trans tunnel shown from the engine bay. the seats still had the plastic on them n my dad didn't wanna take it off but u get the idea anyways lol. they are hoping to have the diff there tommorow so they can chuck it in so it will be all done for my too collect next week (hopefully). also, managed to track down a proper boot emblem thingo for the pano due to my other one being f@$ked. peter robinson to the rescue lol.
  24. thanks for the comments guys :) oke020, 4-point cages are legal as is in vic, 6-point cages require removable side intrusion bars n shit like that too be legal n i didn't want a full cage extending into the cabin anyway, its more for stiffness than anything anyway.
  25. the boys at all race rang today saying they've finished everything on the car, thats cage, tubs, leaf spring mounts, trans tunnel, 40L fuel cell fitment and seat mounts for my velo seats. only thing they are waiting on is for the diff to come back from being shortened so they can chuck it in, then it goes on a truck to b taken to my mates for the body work/painting :D.
