Hey guys I'm needing some help figuring out what this mount thingo is, i dunno if its just for the stabiliser bars on either side or whatever. basically i need to know as i need to ditch mine on my ke26 and get some better condition ones as when the dude that owned the car before me made up the engine mounts for the rotary he welded the absolute shit out of those 2 mounts and blew holes n warped em etc n my panel beater can't fix them n would b easier to start fresh, since i need to have my engine mounts relocated anyway. heres what I'm talking about as I'm not great at explaining myself. also if anyone would know where i could track them down, if anyone knows of any ke20s being wrecked etc. as i need both left and right mounts. this is very urgent as my panel beater can't really do anything more until i find suitable mounts. cheers.

every corolla i've owned i used to get offers from random people wanting to buy them off me afew times a week, even just while sitting at traffic lights etc. i got alot more attention in my rollas than i ever did my rx7/v8 statesman/calais etc. except when i stupidly drove my 5ltr vk calais down to an exhaust shop afew suburbs away with only extractors on, ive never had that many people staring at me at one time (and blocking their ears lol).

new pictures, engine bay is basically done, just been put in polyester so i can dick around with it without stressing about scratching it etc. also messing around with fitting up the rad/cooler/oil cooler, as iv been thinking about it for ages n found a good way to set them out so just gotta get brackets etc made up. also moving the engine mounts back 100mm due to clearance issues, should b interesting. before, nasty as f@$k now, much tidier and smoother

even tho that blue is prety similar to the ford blueprint colour i really didn't wanna go for that ford colour as its been so overused now its crazy. i mite change it abit to make it darker, add pearls etc.

yeh it should look sweet once its all smoothed back, not gonna take anymore pics of the bay until its all done/primed up :P. my painter hasn't started on the body yet, just sorting out the bay first. heres pretty much the colour i want my car to be sprayed, changed around abit.

few new pictures, went n checkd the car out 2nite, has done abit more smoothing/seam welding of the drivers side of the bay, got a pic showing the difference between the smooth side n untouched side. let me know what you think :).

thought i'd chuck up a couple pics of the pano, my painter sent me them just before. they are abit small but ill b taking some bigger sized pics once i go see it for myself. doesn't look like much but its something lol. standard firewall firewall cut out new firewall welded in (had to be done in 2 pieces to clear the struts) smoothing one of the strut towers also anyone got a good condition front valance for a ke20? mine is all mangled n wuldn't mind tracking one down.

pano got put on a truck today n taken to my mates to do the bodywork, quite extensive work is being done n i should have it back in a month or so, just in primer, can't wait! will get photos during the process when i can. heres the pano on the truck anyways lol

panelvan's are classed as a commercial vehicle in the same vein as a small truck or what have you, so even if you have an escort van or a mini panelvan they are still classed the same, as technically its classed as a heavy vehicle, even if its as small as a ke26 etc. they have different emission laws aswell i believe aswell as what jono said with the engine swap thing. it makes me all happy inside.

well the car is all ready to goto the beaters, emptied all the shit n bits i had lying around in the car, n put the old shitty steering bits back in roughly so it can be steered, but its gonna be fun getting the bastard out of my carport n onto the tow truck. can't wait :jamie:.

haha fair enough mate, well i won't be ready to start putting the car back together for a long while yet so i won't be needing the parts for awhile, so let me know if and when you decide on what to do and if u are gona strip your other 26. the way the car is atm it won't be much of a street sleeper, but i hadn't really planned it that way. with the power/setup I'm running it'll dip into the low 10's/high 9's with bigger rubber without too much trouble. i love this thing, and its pretty unique imo. I'm running ta22 struts and modified the original 26 steering knuckles so they could be used with the ta22 struts. I'm using modified gemini hubs at the front converted to ford stud pattern with VE commodore calipers n massive discs. they fill the convo's perfectly. only problem is once u chuck wider stockies like 195/205 tyres on the front they stick out the guards like a mofo lol, cos its been made to suit the 145's.

mind if i pinch some parts off it while you decide? lol. namely the rear bar and tailgate handle/number plate light jobbie? *begs*

jeez if the '26 is complete ill carry it home across bass straight back to victoria, finding parts for these things is a nightmare lol.

slight update, the pano is finally going to get some pampering in the form of bodywork/rust removal/seam welding/priming etc which will be happening as soon as i take hte car to the beaters next sunday. should have it back within 3 or so weeks so i can dummy up the motor, rad/cooler/turbo/zorst manifold etc basically assemble everything making sure everything is sweet before i rip it all out again so the car can be painted, then it all goes back in again. will get some pics once its home, can't wait too see how it looks :dance:. after seeing an SR20 powered ke20 coupe at Easternats today I'm hangin to get the pano on the road!

Hey guys the speedo on my ke10 has stopped working recently, the miles travelled counter still ticks over but the speedo stays at 0. ive checked that the cable is still connected at the dash and followed it along into the gearbox and its still connected to the box and hasn't snapped. I'm unsure what else to check for :P. also my reverse lights don't work, do ke10's run some sort of reverse light switch? or what triggers the lights to turn on? i had a look at the globes and they are not blown. is there a fuse for the reverse lights? cheers for any help!

haha ye new daily jono, got it during the week. will keep me occupied while stuff happens to the ke26 when it eventually goes to get the body work done. looking to drop a 5K or 7K (if i can find one) in it once i get it registered.

far out cool ke20 dude, i should buy another one one day. looks the goods with the 14s and celica mirrors. not liking the exhaust though, not really my thing but the rest is overrated.

hahaha thanks guys, its getting there more each day :dance:. finished the roof and bonnet today, just got a couple panels left n I'm all sweet. iv seen a couple cars finished off in bare metal and it looks insane, but costs an absolute overrated to get it as good as that apparently, would still prefer blue tho, but ill make my mind up when it comes to that lol.

it mite b going blue but haven't decided what shade yet, will be mixing up a custom colour for it. definately wuldn't be going blueprint its more suited to oldskool commodores lol. i was also thinking of a gun metal grey, i don't see many corollas (if any) in a nice grey, n might put some extra pearl in it etc. after seeing it going back to metal it would look cool in a grey i reckon. gonna get stuck into it tommorow so will try get the roof and tailgate all finished. my gf has a new set of shoes which are prety much the exact colour i'd want it sprayed lol.

thanks for the comments guys :lolcry:. done abit more this week, slowly getting there. the roof is halfway done n started on removed the rear window n started on the tailgate, found a couple tinnny rust holes in the tailgate window frame which isn't much of a big deal, apart from that theres no other rust in the roof or gate so I'm happy. should have the whole thing back to metal next week hopefully!

lookin good bernie, nice to see my old wagon is in good hands. i regret selling that sometimes, might have to try find another one one of these days!
