  1. Finally had a chance to read your thread.Your plan sounds awesome. Matt from Hi- Tech didn't tell me too much about it! Did tou end up getting the crystal headlights? I bought a set about a month ago from autoparts world at Richmond. I think they were about $70. You have to change the plug on the back so they fit the corolla wiring. Keep it up mate.
  2. Thank you HIGH ROLLER. I am so motivated to get it finished!
  3. Awesome pics. They sure know how to build them clean in California! Some interesting engine swaps there too. Wishing we had that many old schoolers to drool over at our ToyotaFest!
  4. Just thought I'd start a thread here rather than updating in the KE20 members section. If you look in that thread you will see photo's of were I'm up to. Basically 1974 KE20 4age, T50 box, Lancer diff and painted in Blood orange 2pack. The bodyshell, door and boot jambs, engine bay and underside have all been painted. In the engine bay we tried to hide as much as possible, as I wanted the bay to be very smooth and clean. The driveline is all in and the car is at my mechanic getting wired up and a few other things done. I painted the bootlid last week, so it is ready to be fitted. Tonight I got the rear bumper bar and taillight surrounds painted. I painted them in silver. I plan on painting the grille, bumpers, light surrounds, bonnet vents and door handles all in silver. When I fit the bootlid, rear bar and taillights I will post some pics.
  5. I'd love to see Lowndes and Whincup repeat last years awesome effort!!!
  6. Thanks Mic. I took the bootlid to work and got that painted last week and spent last night smoothing the rear bar and taillight surrounds. Hopefully I'll get them painted this week. I am so motivated to get it finished for ToyotaFest next year!
  7. Here are some pics
  8. Did anyone make it out to the ToyotaFest at Auburn today? It was quite a good day with about 100 cars there. There was a good amount of Corolla's in attendance. The majority were front wheel drive, with half a dozen old schoolers representing. Standout Corolla's were the green 94 model 20 valve turbo, orange BNS-70Y 02 hatchback, Silver turbo AE86, Scmick restored KE25, SR20 KE20, two KE30-35's one turbo 4age, one FJ20 and a very clean current model hatch painted candy red on 20 inch wheels. Besides the Corolla's my favourite was the IS200 Lexus packing 1200hp 2JZ, minitubs, mega fat Simmons, and plenty of chrome and polish. I promised myself my car will be there next year!
  9. Hi guys. Here is an engine bay pic for you. Please note the photo was taken with my phone so the colour is not quite right. Mic, my intentions for the car were originally a clean street car. As you know, things get out of hand!!! If you neaten or hide one thing something else stands out and then its a snowball effect! My mate Matt and my brother have been a great help with a lot of trick ideas. Again thanks for the comments, I am more than happy to answer any more questions.
  10. Hi guys. Thanks for the positive comments! I really appreciate it. I will try to add an engine bay shot in the next few days. The brake booster is located where the glove box was. I now have a flat one piece dashboard, so no need for a glove box! The master cylinder is from an XB Falcon. It required an extra plate welded to the firewall for strength and obviously new holes to be drilled. The back edge of the manifold was trimmed approximately 15mm for clearance. Specialised Brake and Clutch at St Marys did it for me.
  11. Name: Jason Car: 1974 KE20 Motor & Driveline: 1600 4age, T 50 5speed, Lancer diff Suspension & Brakes: Ke55 front brakes, lancer rear drums, falcon master cylinder, remote booster, pedders front springs, koni shocks, new steering components. Wheels & Tyres: undecided at this point. Most likely to be Showwheels. Interior: So far: Laser Tx3 seats, smoothed dash, VDO gauges and some billet accessories. Body: Painted 2 pak Ford Blood Orange. Quarter vents filled, alloy fuel cap, roof gutters filled in. Other: Obviously car is unfinished at this point. I hope to have it completed this time next year! Engine bay is fully smoothed, all wiring, brake lines and most hoses have been hidden. Many thanks to Matt and Chubby at Hi-Tech Modifications and my beautiful wife and daughter.
