  1. Even closer again is Paintmobile Preston. Address: 6 High Street Preston, Victoria 3072 Phone: 03 9484 6100 There are a couple of old boys behind the counter that are more than happy to offer advice if you aren't a smartass, are spending some money and not kicking tyres (or is that 'tins'). My old man would've been proud of that gag. Cheers, Sam.
  2. Did you use a new front windscreen rubber? Trying to source one for mine at the moment, Phils Rotarys or an eBay job out of Thailand seem to be the only options at the moment. I'm of the understanding that there is a specific windscreen rubber for KE36/38 so a sedan/coupe rubber won't do the job. Cheers, Sam.
  3. http://www.tccav.org.au/?page_id=20 Wants 3k for it.
  4. The plastic gutter moulds look shidhouse and break easily. I've found that the chrome gutter moulds off old Sigmas are the go, the gutter mould that starts from the front of the car actually fits perfectly, no need to even rebend them! Could probably get them off other cars of the period too. Cheers, Sam.
  5. I'd be weary of anything coming out of Taiwan as they can be partially made up of chrome plastic that can look a bit cheap and nasty and not very durable. They look nice and shiny in the photo though! I'd be interested in original mirror/s too as per the panel van above if anyone has any spare. Cheers, Sam.
  6. There was a thread last week discussing mirror options but unfortunately I can't seem to find it. I'm also looking at mirror options for my KE36. I thought that these looked ok and can be picked up at Autobarn or Supercheap, but may look cheap and tacky in person? http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=72221 I'm also looking at something like these (to suit Valiants) but not sure if I can justify the cost or if they'll fit properly as the kexx doors are basically vertical at the mounting point so the arms will stick out too far and the mirrors will sit quite low. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VALIANT-2-x-CHROME-STAINLESS-STEEL-DOOR-MIRRORS-/200603946388?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb4ed4d94 I strongly recommend against buying something like these as they will not fit as KExx doors due to the above issue with the mounting point being vertical and the short length of the stem. I bought a pair on a whim and the mirrors sat too low. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CLASSIC-RACING-MIRROR-BULLET-STYLE-RETRO-CHROME-/170593485694?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b82a037e If anyone has any suggestions or mirrors to offer up please get in touch. Ideally I'd like a pair as panel vans/wagons have an annoying blind spot. Cheers, Sam.
  7. I eagerly await the completion of your project, because based on your previous topics you're gonna have a 'throttle body turbo setup' on your '4age' engine along with an 'MR2 supercharger/carb setup' on your '3tc' engine which currently has '2 barrel carb' which your going to add a 'normal weber non side draft for a draw-through setup' that will 'mount the carb on the inlet of the turbo'. Seriously - Admins, can you please stop the pain? I rarely post but this is well beyond the joke. Cheers, Sam.
  8. Correct, this is also the case with KE7x. Cheers, Sam.
  9. I have a pair of Pedders Comfort Gas in the rear of my KE30 P/Van (Part # 8056), they do the job nicely. These will also fit your KE70. I see the leaf setup as been crucial in the rear of these because as you probably know they can get quite light in the rear. Have you played with the leafs at all? I think we removed 1 leaf in the end, and changed the shocks and now the rear seems to "hug" the road much more over slight dips and rises in the road. Something as simple as trying different tyre pressures in the rear may also improve things. How is the car behaving at the moment, and specifically how would you like to improve it? Cheers, Sam.
  10. Last Saturday, I not only spotted, but also went up and said hello (read: harassed?) KE10GIRL in slow moving traffic on Toorak Road in South Yarra. I’d been at the races and had a few cans up me, but still managed to claim her bright green beast from a couple of hundred metres away. So, I proceeded to sprint up Toorak Road in hot pursuit, and was greeted with a "Hi, GEEEEET ON ROLLLLLACLUB!!!!" Absolutely made my day, considering I got drenched at the races, lost my suit jacket, did my nuts on the punt, Starspangledbanner lost, and I stepped in dog crap on the way home!!! Cheers, Sam.
  11. Just saw the Hendo mobile parked on Malvern Road. Looking good. Missing some whitewalls though, or were they your "burnout" tyres on the rear?! Cheers, Sam.
  12. I have a pack a day habit, sometimes 2 packs if I'm not working the next day. As for the car, the badging on the rear look quite similiar to the KE10. I got all excited when I saw it, then got up close and realised it was *only* a Mazda. Still a overrated car all the same. Ok, so I'm looking for Leah (or Meaghan if you're in stealth mode). Do you know a bird called Brandy that works there? I used to work with her many moons ago at a place that shall remain secret. She's had a ride in my Rolla. :y: Cheers, Sam.
  13. Sure this wasn't a little Mazda coupe? There is a shmick one getting around sounds like your description. It looks very similiar to a KE10, easy to confuse. Meanwhile, Safeway Middle Camberwell is my hang out spot, I'm down there on a daily basis to pick up snacks (big fan of Sakatas). Cheers, Sam.
  14. If you have an ABN, keep in mind the 50% small business tax break too. Could help the cause. Money aside, I agree that the 2-posters are the way to go as described above. Much easier to work on one of these, and the beauty of them is you can park a car underneath for storage, handy for keeping those old rust-prone Rollas out of the rain! Or, you could always go the poor man's hoist and start digging a hole! Sam.
  15. On Monday spotted a young bloke in a beige KE20 cruising past the Tower Hotel, Burwood Rd., Hawthorn. Not 100% but I think it was the same bloke that used to work at the Beaurepaires right nearby. Lowered, venetians, nice droopy tip exhaust, sounded alright too. Sam.
