altho it is a mad build, it pains me to see such a overrated original getting hacked up by a grinder. tell me you shed at least one tear while doing that and ill sleep alot better. sweet work cheers scott

thank you all for the kind words. it makes it all worth while knowing that others can enjoy my car just as much as me. don't worry there will be endless videos for all once ive got it throwing down reliable 3 - 4 minute burnouts. keep ur eyes on the thread as ill post updates up until the comp. wel ive started pulling the engine I'm going to try and pull engine and trans at same time ive done it in a falcon and it wasnt to bad so well see how i go out of ke20. wel with brakes i rekon ill just go ke70 so i can keep 13" all round with nice hubbys and it sjust alot easier to bolt up. this car isnt going to be driven ont he road anymore so don't have 2 worry about stopping from 80kmph. only need to hold me when holding stand still till i get into mad helies. once engine n trans out ill prolly jsut rebuild both for the hell of it and keep it carby fed for gazzanats. no computers no worrys for the moment. but I'm now chasing a bigger radiator. spec 700cm wide x 440cm high x 80cm thick. ill keeps yall posted i havnt taken anymore pix i might get some on the weekend. cheers scott

hey misskittay 3k carby will be fine as it is dotn worry about rejetting it for know. when you wana upgrade id reccomend a32/36 2L escort weber as i ran one onmy ke25 and it went hard killed any other K engine powerd rolla i lined up. i have 3k carby on my 5k and it still goes killer. i can sit on 140kph in 5th and still accel if i need to without hesitation. f@$k off all pollution gear waste of timeand wieght ensureu still have engine oil breather which is usally plumbed back into carby(inlet man) and any vaccumm lines u dissconnect you block off if not used anymore. mechanical 3k fuel pump will do the trick as there is no differnce between the 2. although if you upgrade toa eber and will be used for higher RPM situations id recommend electronic fuel pump to be on the safe side. with your timing chain if you can be botherd changeing cam and crank pulleys along with tensioners you are more than able to run your double row chain from your 3k on your 5k. hope everything goes smooth for ya (but it never does) cheers scott

how much power you goin to have flowin through this thing? in my old ke20 i hada locked banjo diff with a worked 4k and it was strong as fuk. 2nd gear ringys aslong as i wanted every wkend and it just took it. in my ke20 with 250 iv got shortened and locked borg warner out of XE and its bullet proof. some food for thought cheers scott

went for my 1st drive in the monsta today :D HOT DAMN ITS INSANE 1st, 2nd, 3rd sliding its just mental. neighbours hate me even more now. but got home and found sump spewin out with oil so its back 2 square one and fixin it better. for front brakes I'm goin RA60 big vented discs twin spot calipers. i use RA60struts n lower control arms with ke20 strut tops. chop the springs and put sorter strut inserts in and shes sweet. only prob is i can't run any smaller than 14" on the front so ill have my work cut out me finding some cool hubbys. wel the sarga continues keep the comments coming peeps cheers scott

5k into ke20 is as simple as getting dressed or undressed which ever you prefer. with pulling bits off 5k just make sure you have all the required things like dizzy, fuel pump, starter. if you are still unsure just compare it to your 3k? as you pull it apart then you'll know what you need and what you don't. Now with exhaust manifold the flange on your stock 3k exhaust (if still fitted) will be different. so reuse the 3k exhaust manifold with the 5k inlet manifold and carby and you'll be right. now engine mounts, ke20 engine mounts are pretty easy to source second hand over here in s.a so I don't know about Brisbane. chances are they'll still be alright so just make sure you loosen them before you pull your 3k or you will tear them. with your box you running 4 spd I'm guessing you'll be right just to bolt straight up to 5k. new clutch? will you be putting a new clutch on while the 5k is out? if so just make sure the splines on box are the same as new clutch 21 or 19. will probably be 21 as 19 is pretty uncommon these days. when pulling the 3k pull the box out still connected that way you can pull it off out of car then bolt it onto 5k and throw it back in. its all pretty straight forward stuff use your head and you'll be fine as its only a 3-5k engine and they are one of the simplest engines to work with. sorry for the life story but hopfully it'll help you out a bit. cheers scott

hey nickZ it had crossed my mind about the RA40 upgrade but i wasnt sure what had 2 be modified to fit them in. any help wood be appriciated. and also a pick of what an RA40 loox like wood help also. hemi 6 hahaha I'm the 3rd owner of the car it was built years ago and had been sitting around at the 2nd owners house for over a yr. before i bought it i sure hope it gets up and boogies ill be going for my 1st drive 2morow night. keep the comments coming cheers scott

jamie mate I'm only goin to ke70 for the PCD and easy availability of brake pads. its not a street car it dusnt need to stop ona dime just gota be enough so i can control the car when I'm crawling alround the burnout pad. harley don't worry everyone will know which and when burnout comp I'm goin in. hopefully gazzanats but i can't find any info on entering its coming up in october. i get more pix and maybe a vid this wkend. keep the comments comin guys. cheers scott

ill take it for a spin this wkend but thatll be the only time on the road except for roadtests. grims once i got some spare cash it will be injected and superchaged :) then itll be mental and wont go anywhere near the road. also before this happens ill be puttin ke70 front brakes on it and be riding 16" wheels for a lil bit of traction. cheers scott

hahahahahaha FIREWALL ? whats that. this is the size of the tunnel which gives u some idea how much firewall is missing. no. 6 cyl is pretty much where the firewall used 2 be. but theres heaps of room in the bay i could go either way large turbo? or large charger? ill prolly stik with EFI and supercharger for betta low down torque. keep the questions and feedback coming peeps. cheers scott

hahah shit cheers for all the interest guys dint relaise id have so much replys. wel with the brakes I'm just goin to put ke70 front brakes on it so i got 114.3PCD all round. and the rear lines mite be connected wen i take it on the road. the car is strictly a burnout car BUT will be road registered as 3K motor. just so i can say itsa road registered BURNOUT MACHINE. :) hopefully it will be doin its 1st burnout since being in my possession this wkend. ill keep ya posted n that. maybe some vidz I'm now after some 13x6/7" 114.3PCD stockys if anyone can help me out would be much appriciated. go the walls n venetian its the only way. heres a couple engine pics when i bought it ill get more pix this wkend cheers scott
