  1. I couldn't handle the whine so I went 4AGE. haha I believe the new owner of my box is still using it and going strong though!
  2. Take a look at the picture attached. The belt should be mounted higher up. Having it as low as you have it will kill your collar bones if you are using it and happen to crash. Just remember reading something about that somewhere.. :bash: But if they're only there for looks then doesn't really matter. I'm not sure where you would mount it without having a cage. Probably same place as those child restraints but I haven't looked to see if the KE's have one. haha
  3. With your harness, is it safe to have it mounted that low behind the driver seat? I thought having it mounted so low would snap your collar bones fairly easy compared to having it mounted more perpendicular to your body or higher... :bash: Mounting it to something around the parcel shelf area.
  4. Yep, should be a straight swap over as far as I'm aware.
  5. Yeah, I wasn't really a fan of the madhouse lips, but since seeing Grant's car, I think I know why I've never liked it and it's because most others didn't trim the guard to match the angle of the lip. hahaha Thanks mate. Your ride isn't too bad either, I just haven't posted in it yet cause I don't have anything worthy to say! And the part about not needing to say it, I don't know man. I see the opposite, because it's my car, it's never perfect. haha People keep telling me to leave it as is cause it's enough and looks/goes good, I keep thinking that there's something missing.. I think you'll still need to chop the guard. :bash:
  6. Not a bad buy for $1.5k mate! Looks good now that you've cleaned it up.
  7. I personally think for someone to pull the Madhouse lip off, the guard needs to be cut and for it to line up (the angle to line up) with the lip. The angle of the arch needs to continue down to the end of the lip. I'll get a few pictures up illustrating what I mean. I don't think what I wrote above makes sense. Thanks mate. Would've been a long read! But I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cheers Edit: Alright lets compare Grants AE71, His guard is cut and the line of the arch flows down with the lip. In my opinion looks good. Here's another example of a car with a madhouse/madhouse style lip, but without cutting of matching the arch curve with the lip, The guards aren't cut to flow with the lip's angle, still looks good but I personally think it'll look better cut. Most people probably don't even notice it, but I'm a picky bastard sometimes. :rolla:
  8. The switch which controls how bright the dash cluster is.. is it plugged in? If this is left unplugged, the lights won't come on when you turn on your parkers/headlights.
  9. Edit: Ah.. thought you were talking about June 20th, Saturday.. :rolla:
  10. It depends which model 4AGE you get. The 20v seem to push out power fairly easy. I think it was a pair of mild cams with an ecu (you need an aftermarket ecu if you're going to put a 20v into your KE) it made over 100rwkw. My big port 16v on the other hand has TRD copy extractors, 2.25" press bent exhaust and a pod, made 73rwkw. haha I personally wouldn't waste money trying to get power out of an NA 4AGE. More reason not to mod it for you.. The R33 gives you the fun from power, the 4AGE should just help move the KE a bit easier. haha :P
  11. Good to hear the project has begun! I've seen this car a few times a meets, will be good to see another 4AGE powered E7 around..
  12. I was thinking about making a set up for my KE, just for shits and giggles. Have a feeling it'll look funny cause there's no kit though. We'll see how long it'll take for me to get defected.
  13. For a pair!? :fuzz: Really depends on specs of the wheels. The set I'm running on at the moment sets me back about a grand and I think my wheels are fairly decent widths and offsets.. :D
  14. I noticed you had your wheels fitted and they look good! A nice streeter ride height and poke. As for guard clearance and castor... umm you can kinda see my front guard is f@$ked. hahaha I'm running AE86 camber tops which reduce castor and when I adjusted my castor rods (back to as close to standard as possible), the wheels rubbed my guard pretty bad. I first pulled/pumped the guard out a little by loosening a few bolts here and there which hold that area on and it seemed 'enough' till I drove and the tyres pulled/pushed the guards and caused all those dents you see. I've since then just hammered it out roughly, there was no chance of saving the guard after a drive. Both sides are gone. :fuzz: Edit: I think the only way around it is to actually cut the guard. I wasn't game enough. :D
  15. :fuzz: I couldn't help myself. I'm currently trying to get rid of my old SSRs. A mate of a mate is keen on them, but I don't think he'll go through with the sale. I'll be posting a for sale thread for them if they don't sell. The new pair of meshies was a bit over $600 delivered if I remember correctly. They were purchased at the same price as the Hoshino in Japanese Yen, but with the current exchange rates, they're nearly $200 more expensive. Good thing you bumped my thread as well. I've cleaned up my loom, sprayed my new wheels black and have taken some photos. Wasn't going to post them up to be honest, but since my thread is already on page one, why not.. Engine bay before and after, Here are some pics of the wheels, camber and car, Feels like I post too many pictures, I hope you enjoy them. :D Edit: If you can't see what I've done to the loom, just take a look at the wiring on the firewall. My brother and I just chopped things off that wasn't needed.
  16. How come all the images are mirrored? Haha Any plans for the car or just drive it as is?
  17. I believe an RB20 box with SR bell housing will work? Shifter position is the same as standard as well I think.. Yeah, I can't remember the last time I saw your car. Think it might've been that night at Monash where the cops were just sitting around for someone to drive.
  18. Hahaha hrmm.. I didn't realise I told you about that. :jamie: Alright guys, here are some pictures. Looks much better in person so don't bag me please. haha The rear wheels are still to be sprayed black, that'll happen on the weekend. 15x7.5 -8 wearing 195/50 RE001s up front. Suspension wise, it has AE86 struts, about 190mm 8kg springs, Corona lower control arms, Cusco camber tops set to max negative, castor set to max. 15x8 -4 wearing 185/55 some random Hankooks. Wheels are only 2mm more aggressive compared to the 7.5's but being wider it gives more stretch and guard clearance. I might lower it a little more or get some 5mm slip ons. Let me know what you guys think. :D
  19. Yeah, the lip is a little different compared to my Hoshino wheels (will get pics up comparing the two). Personally prefer the way Hoshino did it, but either way I'm happy. I've got a spare pair of 15x7 +5's sitting here now, you can have them. :jamie: LOL.. Thanks mate, the wheels arrived 7 weeks after shipment. So a week quicker than the first time I bought stuff from Japan. There's something about purchasing stuff from overseas, you know the item's expected soon yet when it actually does turn up.. it's the best feeling. You couldn't have wiped the smile off my face both times my wheels arrived. The wheels have all been installed the way I planned and it looks tough. :D I'll try get pics soon for you all to see! Edit: I think the new wheels are too shiny. I like that weathered look. haha
  20. Nah, my parents use it to buy groceries. hahaha
  21. Hey guys, good to see you over on rollaclub. :jamie: With the SR, what cross member will you be using? Silvia cross member or modified K series? If modifying original cross member, go 86 struts and FC 4 pot brakes (bit of info around on this). If you're gonna use the SR cross member, I would say you're better off using S13 coilovers, brakes, etc. You'll get wider track though, but if you're gonna go Hilux or even R31 rear end, the increase in track wouldn't be too bad (not sure on what's involved with these diffs into KE). Wheels.. will depend on what suspension you end up choosing. Visit my build thread for some pics of my wheels. I'm yet to upload pics of my current wheels which came in yesterday though. :D
  22. Hrmm.. :D A few dodgy photos I took when the wheels rocked up yesterday. Tyres should be getting put on them today. :jamie:
  23. Wondering what had happened to this car, good to see you've finished the conversion man. Looks good!
  24. Good to hear and see that it's finally running again mate. You can hear the charger pretty clear..
