Finally got my remaining $100 off sonsta yesterday. Was going to get the cops involved on Monday with the help of Commonwealth Bank, but I'm glad I didn't have to.. I just hope the camber tops arrive without any issues! :(

I know you mentioned wanting to keep it sleeper and not mentioning the 20v, but I thought 'WTF 20V' would be good..

If you can solve the bell housing issue, I believe the T18 boxes are 20 spline output so you can use your existing (assuming manual) tail shaft and diff.

What Is The Wheel Offset On The Toyota T18 (te72)
adam-__- replied to alex.wilson's topic in General Mechanical
Your wheel specs should be printed on your rim if it's the standard wheel. On the inside barrel or on the outside lip area. Should be something like '13x4.5 +32' (standard KE70 wheels). If you can't find it, measure it up yourself. Shouldn't be too hard if you understand how offsets and widths work.. -
Nah camber tops haven't arrived yet. Haven't been sent yet either. Some problems with the bank transfers. The money got returned, only just resent the money. Hopefully by the end of next week. Not 100% when I'll be heading over your area next, but I think this weekend to change a clutch. No idea. haha Yep, steering wheel is GKTech item I think.

Cheers, but I want a Nardi Deep Corn! :) Hahahaha thanks man. I'm still not done with it just yet. People keep telling me it looks good, but there's something missing. Once the new wheels come and are installed, I'm hoping I, myself, should find it looking tough. Hopefully.. If not, well I honestly don't know. Haha! Ah I don't quite understand what you're asking or saying man. :D Edit: He's engraved his name on the wheel already. :jamie: I like it, but really want a Nardi. hehe Edit edit: ** drools **

Here we are... It's just a temporary wheel. It was my mates, but he sold his car off so he lent it to me for a while. Feels a LOT better than the standard wheel. Love it how it sits so close to me now as well. Indicating was an issue to begin with (boss kit and deep wheel moves you away from indicators), but you get used to it. Nah no chance the new wheels are flipped. The air valve thingo is on the outside. If it had been flipped it would be on the inside. I can't wait till these wheels and my camber tops arrive. :hmm:

Copper must've checked how many Ks the car had when he transferred rego/owner or something and then checked what it currently said. If it reads lower than obviously someone has winded the meter back. It's not gonna kill anyone, but fraud? Do you reckon you could get away with it by saying you changed your dash cluster? :P Clock to tacho...

Check oil, see if it's a normal colour. If it has a slight milk look to it, it could be head gasket. Watch coolant while motor is warming up, do you see foam forming? Possibly a blown head gasket. A completly blown head gasket would normally stuff your motor up if you kept running with it, but a small ' lightly damaged' head gasket can still run without any serious issues. Just blows a bit of smoke here and there. Make your oil/coolant dirty.

New rims do have the stepped lip though? :P I don't know, it looks like it has a stepped lip from those pics, but comparing it to my current wheels, these just don't have a noticeable step but it does have a step. hahaha Ah I guess I'll just have to wait till they arrive (they get sent out either today or tomorrow). Big shame if it's just the reverse mesh.. Edit: Here's a picture comparing my wheels (yahoo auction pictures) side by side. 1st are my new wheels, 2nd are my current rear wheels(Hoshinos), last is current front wheels (SSRs). It looks like it's in between the two. =/ I'll just have to wait till they arrive, but I purchased them thinking they were Formula mesh. haha

Yeah, I thought I would've been fine purchasing off him because he was well known and has been on there for a while, I guess not. No notification of the money as far as I know. Just checked bank account and there was more cash then there was supposed to be in there. hahaha
-
My Rudd cash has come in and it's used to pay off the wheels I just bought. :y: I was supposed to use that money to help Australia's economy, but I bought stuff from Japan meaning I'm helping the Japanese economy? :D I've also purchased a pair of camber tops, paid for them this morning and hopefully if the guy's not dodgy I should have them by the end of next week. With the seats I was meant to get (mentioned a few pages back), it was purchased of Sonsta over on DC and well.. he tried to scam me. Didn't even send out the seats and kept making excuses for everything. I've got a hold of his personal details and he's so far returned $150 out of the $250 owed.. Another $100 to go. My advice, DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SONSTA! If you've been scammed by him and he still owes you money, let me know and I'll get it back along with my remaining $100. Anyway, nothing interesting will be happening with this car until wheels arrive..

What colour is the smoke? That'll help us identify what is wrong with it. Black = running rich White = water 'burning' = cold or blown head gasket Grey/blue = oil burning, piston rings, valve stem seals, other stuff I can't remember at the moment.

Ah damn! I just did that joke in your thread! hahaha Yeah the wheels should look good. Current rear wheels are to be put up front and new ones coming to be put out back, the new wheels are only 2mm more aggressive out back so it shouldn't look too different. I'm happy with the rear wheel's fitment. It was just the fronts.. 7AGE is a bit ' :D ' at the moment.

Polishing up wheels is the worst. :D You have good tastes in wheels...

Thanks mate. Not much has been done to the car since the last update. Have just installed my mates GKtech dished steering wheel and bought a new pair of wheels from yahoo auctions. The Aussie dollar sucks ass at the moment, but couldn't help myself. After seeing a few *E7*'s pics from Japan, I couldn't pin point what my car was missing compared to theirs. I'm putting it down to slightly more aggressive wheels up front and a lower ride height. So I went and bought a pair of 15x8 -4 SSR Formula mesh last night. Thought it was going to get out of my budget easy, but when there was a couple of hours left and it hadn't risen, I got Jesse Streeter to bid for me at the last minute, I ended up winning it at 22,000yen. :D Link to the wheels are below, http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b98181283 And here are some random shots of my car since the last update, nothing special.. Plans are to wait for new wheels to arrive and search for camber tops. Hopefully these wheels will fill in the spots the car's missing out in. Edit: I forgot to mention that I also purchase another big port 4AGE head for $40! Was pretty complete, came with the cam shafts, gears, shims, valves, etc. Only missing cam covers, dizzy, rear water temperature sensor and water outlet pipe thingo. Plans are to put a 7AGE together on the side.. =]

If you measured it correctly and got 2cm or 20mm, that'll be your offset. Rim diameter by width with an offset of +20mm.
-
To find offset, measure entire width, lip to lip. Find the centre (divide the lip to lip measurement), measure how far the mounting of the face is from this centre, that is your offset. I'll draw it out for you if that doesn't make any sense to you..

Some good information in here. :lolcry: I know of a mate with 86 struts and brakes, etc, pretty much whole package to go into your car for sale. He's in Tassie too so that'll help. I've sent you a PM.
-
How's your wheel alignment? Usually toe out at high speeds will make the steering really twitchy.
-
Very nice mate. It looks like having problems with the motor before going into a E7 is normal these days. Good to hear everything's up and running though. I agree 100% the 4AGE in a KE makes a HUGE difference, so much more fun to drive. Sounds like you've got similar plans to me. Need a seat to hold me in and really need a new diff as well! All the best with it. :D
-
You need a modplate (I think that's what they call it up there) for the 4AGE being in the AE71 or AE86 if you've got one of them. Therefore it's illegal when you're on your Ps. Getting caught for it is another story.. Both blocks have similar engine numbers (both starting with 4Axxx). It'll depend on the cop who pulls you up.
-
It's good to see some aggressive wheels under this thing. Only thing it was lacking previously in my opinion. Wheels may be a little too aggressive though, guard work looks nice, but I don't think it's enough. Might get away with it in a IRS car, but definitely not a live axle. Looks good so far mate, both the motor and car, let us know how it goes.
-
That's not too bad at all mate. I've always wanted to do something like this, but instead of pictures, videos put together. From the first day I bought a car video, then every single 'worthy' mod after that, video again then finally a 'finished' video. Thought about this quite a bit back when I didn't have a licence, it was a Supra video which made me want to do it, but when I got a car it didn't cross my mind.. :lolcry: Maybe for my next ride. But yeah, not too bad for a first video at all. :)

RA23/28, RA40, RT132/XT130. They're all 300mm compared to the standard KE70's 290mm ones.
