Hey mate, have a little play around with this offset calculator, http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp Just type in your current wheels specs and new wheels then run outside to see if they'll fit.

The 9515's would've been crazy. The 35 series is more than enough for me. hahah Cheers man. Just need a camera and someone to hold it for me then there will be a youtube link. :D I went on a Holford Motor's cruise on Sunday (cruise through hills), first time I actually pushed my car and I have to say that I was quite happy with it. Having the car run for a few hours (think it worked out to be 7 hours straight), the motor started to get a little smokey. hahah. Got told it was blowing a bit of smoke, not too sure what that means just yet. Hopefully nothing serious. Apart from that, nothing else interesting that's happened with this car. Will do my best to get a video up of the car. Cheers

Suspension Setup Reference For Your Rolla
adam-__- replied to crazyrob's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Super Cheap Auto stock Gabriel parts. Not too sure as to how good they are, but they're on the cheaper side of things as far as I know. You could also go for some TRDs. Second hand most likely and go for quite a bit. I honestly have no idea about suspension brands and that, don't have enough money to experiment different brands.. :P -
Suspension Setup Reference For Your Rolla

AE86 struts with ST185 Celica KYB shocks, 210mm 8kg springs up front and Sierra KYB shocks out back with ~180mm Falcon springs. Front shocks need spacer and new gland nut, they don't hold springs captive. Rear shocks keep springs captive, a little too short for my liking though. Edit: Part number for the Excel G shocks I bought are, 365077 for the Celicas and 343185 for the Sierras. -
I'd be worried about having the fuel pump there once you lower the car again. From when I was looking at places to mount my pump, I had a feeling that when the springs compress, the diff could touch the pump mounted there. It'll depend on the spring rate and height, but I wasn't confident mounting it there myself.. :P

Did you have any troubles installing the rear shocks at all? The ones from the Commodore wagon? I remember reading in the 'rear suspension' thread on AE86DC about using the wagon shocks and thought you had to get the bushes pressed out. Was any of that needed? I'm thinking of going to those exact rear shocks you bought, the Sierra's are way too short for me..

Have a little search through google for people who have done the SR into *E7* conversion. The first link that pops up should be some help. Some people modified their gearbox tunnel, some didn't. Not sure what the reason was with that. Mounts, a little modifying here and there, you'll see when you look at some other people's builds.

SR20DET, done plenty of times and can get the power you're after pretty easily.

You wouldn't be the same 'kproln' as that other guy who has the purple version of this are you? Same style and similar name.. Personally not a fan of the car, but looks like quite a bit of money's been put into it.
-
Why'd you dig up a 3 year old thread for man? Should've also mentioned that you've got a T18. :hmm: Edit: You'll have to use the A series crossmember, it'll bolt straight on. Change bell housing on the gearbox then it should bolt straight onto a 4AGE. Not too sure on what's gonna happen with the steering side of things though. Might have to get a custom rack and pinion made up.

bahahah come on guys... Everyone's got different tastes and ways of modifying their car. I'm personally not a fan of everything that's been done to this car, but if everything everyone did was the same, modifying car's (or cars in general) would most probably be boring. If you can't respect the way other people modify their cars, you're not a car enthusiast. I think that's how it went!

Wheels are looking good mate! Should look sweet as once the ride height goes back to normal.
-
Your Longchamps look so tough. Give them to me!!
-
If your only options are to either 4AGE it or paint it, definitely 4AGE conversion. I personally went down the suspension and brakes path first cause it seemed more affordable (and I hated the handling of the standard suspension). Once the basics were out of the way, I went and bought new wheels, then I did the engine conversion. I would do paint last.

Hahah yeah, the whole car minus the drivers door and front guard's paint is gone. Clear coat is all gone giving me a matte blue look. ;) Some parts have even started going white! I'm a bit over the car audio side of things. I got into a bit early, before I even had a car and yeah, just not into it as much as I used to (used to buy things and put it into my brother's car). I've still got a sub that's just sitting in my room, but it won't fit in the car. hahah. The box is ~120ltrs if I remember correctly and weighs a fark load. It's a Digital Design 3515 sub. 1600wrms  My old 15" Pioneers behind it. If anything, I'll probably just get some decent 6x9s and a head unit. I tried to fix up the diff leak today as well. Still yet to find out whether or not my job was good enough.
-
I was thinking of getting some sort of sound system going on, but there's better things to spend that money on. If anything, I reckon seats and a new steering wheel will probably be the next mod. Sliding out of the standard seats isn't all that fun. haha Will get a video up of the 4AGE running and driving real soon.

There's a guy over in the Philippines who can provide you with new (near new) chrome bars with all the brackets and end caps. Not cheap, but they're overrated! I'll get some details if you want them.
-
Thanks for the comments guys. I honestly don't know what else to do to it. I've thought about badging the boot, but it leaves holes. Respraying it, I will no longer have the matte blue look. haha. Quads.. I can't afford and everyone's going to them. Maybe if they popped up cheap like the chrome bars. Next thing to do on the list would be to just replace my clutch master cylinder because it's now leaking and reseal the diff. Oh also need to find out what's wrong with the dizzy. That's leaking too. ;)
-
Anyway.. I ended up getting the diff in last week. Luckily the axles came out pretty easily. Probably took the longest to refit the new centre and bolt the axles back in. What a pain in the arse that was. I think that'll be the last modification I do. It looks good enough for me to be happy with it. It goes hard enough for me to be happy with it. All I need to do now is pick up some driving skills! I'll get some updated pictures up of the car soon.

It's much easier to open the doors when there's gas struts in the car. We took them out and once we closed the door, we couldn't open them back up! (too weak.. :y: ) Centre Rd sucks lately. :o
-
When I was playing around with my strut, putting spacer at the top, the shocks would've been TOO short. For it to be captive and still have some sort of droop, I think you would have to have half spacer at the top and half at the bottom. But yeah, my shocks don't keep the springs captive at all.
-
I'm running the ST185's. Part number 365077. 490mm extended, 346mm compressed. Cartridge size is 332mm with an OD of 44mm. Taking a look at that beautiful paint work of mine, the black box is strut, red box is shock, silver is the spacer, the blue colour thing is the gland nut. I hope you can kind of see where I'm getting at. :y:
-
With my Celica short stroke shocks, they don't keep the 210mm springs captive at all. You'll be able to make it captive if you put the spacer between the gland nut and shock though (mines currently sitting with spacer at bottom). Here's a picture to show you what to expect with your springs. I'm running 210mm 8kg, so yours will be slightly lower.

All I needed to know. Thanks for the quick reply. :y:
