I used to be a driver for them too, epic fun, licence to speed too....... Gotta love that badge....... :no2: You need a wing on your trolley, and a diffuser under the rear, you'll be generating too much turbulence with your current set-up, do it for better quarter mile times  The ultimate pizza delivery vehicle.........Well, worked for me.......
-
Chucked a pair of sizeable washers in to space things out, and behold! It worked(just), so I do in fact need a new cable, time to start fishing I guess.......
-
While a good idea, it doesn't explain why there is play with the clutch fork where there wasn't with the old clutch, I'll try spacing it out with some washers first just to make sure though....... Had a chat with some Toyota technicians today, and they said (I expected this) "streched cable or incorrect clutch, try a genuine one", thing is, I've had the same problem with a genuine clutch, after that they decided that they could only tell me what the problem was if they looked at the car, not helpfull........ I'm gonna have a play around, see if I can figure out some dodged up way of making this bastard work........

Yes, I had a complete and untouched matching gearbox sitting beside the one I was working on for comparison, everything matched and there were no missing/leftover parts, it went back in in the same condition that it came out, which is why I'm confuddled. Everything is exactly as it should be and yet it doesn't co-operate....... :fuzz:

Ok, here's the scenario: Buy brand new clutch, drop gearbox, install new clutch as per instuctions, re-fit gearbox, fit clutch cable, test. At the point of "test" I discover that I needed to adjust the clutch cable out as far as it would go just to (only just) be able to engage forward gears, can't get reverse at all, I've double checked everything and nothing seems to be wrong at all, but there are a few things I need to know, 1: Should there be any play in the clutch fork on the cable side of the gearbox? I can pull the thing forwards a bit by hand and that seems a bit weird to me because it hasn't happened before........ 2: I'm quite certain that the cable isn't streched, as I was using it in the same car only days ago, but now there seems to be too much cable, wtf? 3: Has anyone else encountered this before? I've managed to replicate this problem twice on 2 different cars and I have no idea what to do to fix it, if anyone can shed some light on this I appreciate the input....... Ta, Yoda.

"come Play In The Dirt....or Maybe Mud...day"!!
Toy-Yoda replied to Taz_Rx's topic in Tasmania / Hobart
Assuming I can get this BASTARD CAR :fuzz: :P to move under it's own power, I can meet up with you all at either the entrance or the "bowl" itself, up to you, just need a vague idea of when you're planning on making your way out there....... -

I'm going whether anyone else is coming or not........ :fuzz: I just gotta get this car moving........ Fingers crossed for tomorrow....... Besides that I'm good, just need confirmation from Si as to whether he can remember the roads exactly or if I'm meeting you all at the entrance to the "Play area" Yoda out. -
"come Play In The Dirt....or Maybe Mud...day"!!
Toy-Yoda replied to Taz_Rx's topic in Tasmania / Hobart
It would have been $109 even if it got sent to me........ Mine was posted tuesday or today I think, not too sure...... I'm thinking we have set locations and times to meet up with everyone as we go, but it'll take some ninja timing to get right...... As long as everyone has mobiles and/or a watch we should be good though........ I'm thinking we aim to be there and ready to get into it by 10-11, and if Si remebers how to get there fully, I'll meet you lot out there...... There is a trail I haven't fully explored yet, and I need to set up quite a bit of stuff, so we'll see....... ORB hasn't even got the interior out yet, or a gearbox, or a diff, oh shit, I really need to get working on it soon........ Send me a text if you can't remember EXACTLY where to go Si, and I'll work out a timing thing so we all end up at the entrance at about the same time........ Or a map....... :) -

Toy-Yoda replied to Taz_Rx's topic in Tasmania / Hobart
This is WAAAAAYYY overdue, but we have a date set! 27/07/2008 for dirt skids....... Si, I'll get in touch soon about a meeting point etc. for the run, might try and organise a BBQ too......... I'm going to start compiling a list of the people who are keen to come along, so hit up my PM box, and I'll go from there. -
Yup, double the weight up the front, and a little extra power, means more skids! YAY!

^^^^^^^^ I know how you feel, I was driving home tonight in the inlaws 118i with the cruise conrol set smack on 110....... I was getting passed as though I was in second gear or something, hopeless........ Oh, and a big "f@$k YOU" :( to the dozy bitch in the silver Hyundai Exel for sitting so close to the rear bumper that I could count the number of fake gold hoops she was wearing in her ears........ (4) I swear next time someone does something like that while no-one else is in the car I'll *test* the ABS by "avoiding a rabbit" or something see if that wakes them up a bit........ If not, I find out how a BMW airbag tastes, and the other sucker gets to spend the rest of the night pulling their own teeth from their steering wheel.......... Full comprehensive insurance is the win........

I saw, I roffled.

Randomly late night cruising tonight, spotted a corolla, In Newstead(ish) area, possibly Erina street, connects to Abbott street, KE70 shape, with a 1.6 badge on the front passenger quarter, AE71? Looked pretty clean, and just down the road, another corolla, KE70 this time, parked in someones yard, also pretty clean from just a quick look...... Anyone owning up?
-
7shades: Where do I start.......? Fark you air..... nice, random stickers FTW. :lolcry: Mind out of gutter......... But now that I look at it better, let's assume it got delivered to a wrong address........ That is all.......

Seen a picture of one? Hells no, I've held the sucker in my hand........ The bands are about twice as thick as the regular "garden variety" slingshot bands and are nice and strechy, much fun. I think I know the hand held throw type you're talking about, and this is essentially an automated version of one of those, but still handheld, I'll be picking it up on Monday, so I'll post pics of it when I buy it, during my modifications to it, and the end result........ For the record, I have no intention of shooting Quails at these little pricks.......

^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said. :( I can't remember precicely, but I think you need the 7K engine mounts too........

Ramflo Filters - Anyone Recommend, Or Advise Against?
Toy-Yoda replied to philbey's topic in General Mechanical
I've used Ramflo filters in the past, and besides having had to reinforce the foam filter with chicken wire inside the filter itself due to my own dodgey half-hacked attempts at "performance tuning", I've never experienced any trouble with them at all........ They are my #1 choice for a Ram Air Induction setup, and a close second for anything else (within reason, diesel trucks don't count). Just my opinion though, and I genuinely know SFA about anything mechanical...... -
The other name for the Ghillie suit is a yowie suit, so you could say "we got attacked by a slingshot weilding yowie!" :) And yeah Si, it's been fecking cold these last few nights........ I have confirmation on the slingshot, due to them being slightly illegal, they can't actually be bought over the counter, period. But, you can legally buy (no licence or registration needed) a Clay target launcher, which is actually a slingshot with a metal "arm" that does the actual throwing for you......... You can also legally buy the slingshot "bands", just not the slingshot itself, go figure...... :y: So I'm getting one of the clay target launchers (perfctly legal), and modifying it to take the slingshot "bands" (not quite so legal)...... Insta-hunting slingshot! :y: Here's the other funny thing, I went to a gun shop today and asked if it was legal to sell me 1/4" slingshot ammo over the counter no questions asked, the guy handed me a box loaded to the brim with 1/4" lead shot....... He didn't say a word.......

I'll happily wear that suit to work....... On a day off....... Just casually stroll in, grab some V, and act like nothing is unusual....... Thing is, I don't think my boss will even raise an eyebrow at it, I've turned up for a shift before in a bunny suit (Nesquick Bunny FTW), and a few months later I showed up in a cow suit....... Only problem I've found with the Ghillie suit is that it's not very safe around sources of ignition, it's not even flame resistant without a special spray on flame retardant, the end result is, if I'm wearing it, I can't even so much as light a ciggarette else I set the suit on fire because it'll go up like a box of tinders....... Oh well, at least I'll be stealthy until it goes up......... That suit when set up, bedded in, and worn correctly, should render the wearer virtually invisible even in broad daylight, they are awesome fun once you get used to them......... The Ball Bearing hurling device I'm hoping to have shipped in from the US, but it's beginning to look like customs won't allow it into the country........ Something about shipping weapons being illegal or something......... f@$k it, I'll just pick one up off some "sports enthusiasts" and save myself the trouble of those stupid things called "laws" that always manage to get in the way of my fun....... *update* It seems it was too cold for the pussies to show themselves tonight, I mean, how soft do you have to be? My fingers have only gone purple after 3 1/2 hours out there....... It'd take at least another 2 hours to turn them blue, at which point I'd probably start to get a touch worried for my personal health....... All good, same again tomorrow........ A couple of display pics of the professional use of a Ghillie suit..........
-
:y: Ok, starting from Falken KE30 1: Yep, proof on tape>my word Vs. theirs. :y: :D 2: Launceston, near Kmart. 3: Tom? I don't follow that..... But yeah, some awesome places to hide, places where I can see them, but they can't see me...... *Update* It seems I may have been mistaken about the van, it *MAY* be the local paper delivery vehicle from Invermay news and lotto...... But the 3 kids who stopped dead when they saw us are now my primary objective....... I'm looking at picking up a ghillie suit soon if this keeps up, :ninja: <---This is for those who don't know what a Ghillie suit is. then I'll be able to literally hide in plain view of these dopey pricks and nail them in the thighs at up to 200Mp/h with a 1/4" ball bearing from something like this.......(also picking one of these up soon) This is actually becoming fun........ :)
-
No hope of that happening, like I said, we being properly ninja about this, hiding in the shadows well away from the house, but with a clear view of the cars..... +10 stealth..... :) Now, the update...... We all cased the whole area quite effeciently, and now we have some new ideas how to operate for next time...... The van came back again, around about the same time as usual...... But, earlier on in the night, we spotted 3 guys walking down the hill towards the street, soon as they saw us crossing the road (we hadn't started the stakeout at this point) they stopped dead, waited at the corner for a minute or so, then turned tail and f@$ked off the way they came from....... So tonight, we are getting out there earlier, and waiting again, one way or another, I will catch these little bastards......
-
Ok, no-one has come forward, but I have a few mates who have agreed to help out tonight...... So tonight is stealthy ninja hide in shadows and hope these pathetic pricks are stupid enough to come here again....... I'll update whenever I end up getting out of bed....... Tonight is going to be a long one.......
-
I know you're keen casey, shame you can't make it...... I've got one confirmed helper, one I'm waiting on a final answer....... Come on people, who wants to help get some scumbags off our streets? :)
