  1. In relation to the topic of 4WD flexing, (you know what I mean Si) I bring you pics of me showing off and trying not to roll my old Taliwagon........ Much angle......... |blink|
  2. Ok, this is me showing exactly how little I know/understand about cars.........You lost me at control board........My C/L was a little black box in each of the front doors that had electric motors and stuff in it, it was actuated by the key in the lock and sent a signal to the opposite door's C/L unit, making that door do what the first door did, until it jammed.........That's it....... As far as factory systems go, I'm over my head, hopefully one of the other guys here will be able to be more helpful than me........ But if you don't HAVE to have C/L, my suggestion is to remove it outright, makes life simple.......
  3. I think the idea is not to even attempt any *decent/hardcore* climbs for the moment.......... I have a place in mind that I need to take Si to in the near future that *should* make a good motorkhana area with plent of options for courses and plenty of "minor hazards" like 6 inch diameter rocks on the very inside edge of some of the corners........... Maybe we could move them/avoid them a bit for starters....... But for those who are prepared to push the limits (in a controlled and semi-sensible manner, IE let's try to avoid getting killed) and put their shitter car on the line, I know of a few trails and paths *cough* *jumps* *cough* that will prove to be something highly entertaining and very photo/film worthy....... :) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That's probably for "cruise 2" though....... We'll have to see what pans out......... :( Come on people! Let's see some enthusiasm!!!!! OOOH, NEW IDEA!!! Let's do a "donut around a thrasher" competition, see who can hold the neatest, tightest donut(s) around a stationary car........ :) Something to think on.......
  4. I once had an issue with not being able to lock or unlock (depending on the cars mood) either of my front doors, sometimes they would lock and stay that way and sometimes they would be unlocked and not be able to be locked again, drove me nuts...... Oh, this is in my AE92 hatch........ I ended up pulling the doors apart and finding some dodgey-bagain-basement-aftermarket central locking system had seized and was holding my locks in whatever position they felt like siezing at on that given day......... I promptly removed said central locking system and threw it in the bin....... My point is that it could be the C/L unit itself, or it could be a fault in the wiring, My guess would be that one door has failed and is throwing the other door into confusion as to where the locks are meant to be sitting......... The other (somewhat unlikely) option is that your C/L is getting a voltage drop (worn wiring maybe) and is thinking the battery is nearly dead, this causes some C/L systems to enter it's fail-safe mode to stop the C/L from locking you out of your car, so it pops your locks using (the last bit of battery power available)........ These are only possibilities suggested to give a few things to look for......... Good luck.
  5. I'm........... :) :( :) FAMOUS!!!!! :bash: Oh it's so on now.......... People: this will be EPIC! Easy for starters tho, but good-wholesome-dirt-tearing-fun for the slightly mad.......... Although I have to point out that playing in the mud is equally awesome if not even more fun because the car gets dirtier, you get dirtier, and it's more challenging to keep your car pointing in the direction you want it to go........ It'd make for some interesting looks from the locals on the way home too......... Lines of cars covered in mud.......... Very cool.
  6. I turned this into a trip to Sydney and a Hilux........ (and trip home too, bargain I reckon) And I finally got this pic onto my comp, 5 off road beasts in a row!! :)
  7. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! *sniff* ;) hehehe *chuckle* *sigh* Wanna be really good locks.........
  8. +1 boganistic props son ;) .........Done it many a time before......... Go the mighty smokeshow!!!!! *ahem* Don't hoon kids......... :y: :bash: I'm not really sure why, but when you "rip a skid" on a patch of oil, you get lots of smoke, really quickly.......... popular choice of those in heavy, powerless, falcodores and massively underpowered/overtyred Daihatsu Charades *cough* or Evo drivers trying to do nuts........... <-----That ones funny to watch........
  9. That would be a negative. It can be fitted, but to do it properly means fitting it backwards, then modifying the fuel lines to make it all match up, then twisting the throttle cable all over the place to reach, etc. etc. etc. gave up, retuned the old one, runs suprisingly well now......... Washed it tho........
  10. YAY! The wagon finally made it into my backyard! Now the fun begins......... I begin work on it tomorrow, should be interesting........
  11. Can I bing a keto beater into your yard? Wet grass makes for epic drift contests.........
  12. Daikoku Futo: spiritual home/meeting point of the street drifter/racer innit? The sideways boys meet there before heading to the hills, and the big players head for the wangan for rolling start drag races and top speed runs....... For a true test of outright power, rolling starts are it...... It's like a staging area in between rally events. (apart from the part where they get raided by the fuzz) :jamie: That the one?
  13. Nice, mine was wired off the ignition barrel itself, kinda for security, you had to key it to "on", then push the button to wind it over. I'm impressed, it never occurred to me to wire the starter itself to it's own button....... Any plans for the old thrasher??
  14. Wow that's ghetto, reminds me of my old keto........ it had push button start too, lol. Is your wired so you have the option of keying it or push button? Or is it just one or the other? :hmm: From the look of the engine bay I'd say your not afraid of the odd dirt road/trail, therefor, much respek. :jamie: Love it, kinda makes me miss mine, *should find another one............* Many props.
  15. Please excuse my display of porn on this otherwise clean site....... You can't go past it, it's quite simply a work of art, there will never be anything quite like it again. Ever. It's a Supra, it has a twin turbo V12, it's designed to do 400Kph, and it's built by Top Secret. Nuff said. It's loud, mean, impractical, violent, pretty, and the Stig crashed one. All boxes checked, park it next to the Supra thanks james........ It's an icon, one of the last of the true supercars, no electronic aids, no bells, no whistles, just you and your (lack of?) common sense, plus in my opinion, the sexiest shape to hit the roads. period. Finally, the venerable Hachi Roku......... I mean seriously, someone offers you the keys to a overrated one, you gonna turn that down? Or a genuine Shuichi Shigeno model.......
  16. Yeah my bad, typo FTL....... Under $30K, almost worth it for the looks the Falcodore boys would give you when you tell 'em your running a V8 too........lol
  17. $30K(ish) Almost woth it when you think about it, plus you can turbo it easy enough, it's essentially 2 hayabusa engines joined at the crank, and the hayabusa enghine is known to be able to put out about 500hp when set up correctly, so imagine the potential of this H1........... 10,000RPM V8+ 400 hp+ uber lightweight corolla= street legal F1....... lol
  18. Yup, but only if your expecting it, I've driven *reasonably* conservative up that hill before and gotten crossed up on the lower left hander (quite regularly, until I turned to the darkside and went FWD, *looks at the wagon and thinks "soon, RWD will be mine again!" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!*, never worried me too much as I was travelling slow enough to control it easily, good fun in moderation.......... But I've nearly parked a car shiney side down in that paddock due to monumental understeer coming down the hill a little too fast........ Saved by the handbrake, lol. (That one had me genuinely worried) Moral of the story is: Drive to the conditions, not to your ego.......... And don't speed *cough, cough, splutter, cough* :hmm: And understeer FTL.
  19. Ok, I recently purchased my Hilux from Sydney and drove it back home to Tassie and went through a similar thought process........ Here's what I know from my (very limited) experience...... If the car your buying has rego, You have to hand in the plates as you re-register the car, it will have to go over the pits and get inspected for a roadworthy cert BEFORE you can re-register it, there is no straight swap of rego like I thought there would be....... If it doesn't have rego, You'll have to get a permit to drive an unregistered vehicle ($50ish), then put it over the pits to get it rego'd It cost me $60 to get it fully inspected, then $250ish for 6 months rego, I assume you'll be looking at a similar cost. (barring anything the car fails on) I hope this answers your questions, but please bear in mind that this is my experience from Tassie, the rules/costs/methods may vary between different states......... Happy buying! :hmm:

Olmeca Gold Tequila Ardbeq Islay Scotch Your f@$ked (triple infused vodka for the record........ slightly potent) :) Beer for after work and chillout moods, sprits AND beer for the odd party/wake (new years, birthdays that matter, funerals, etc.)
  22. Just found this pic on my old phone, I was wandering through EB one day shortly after the release of Need For Speed Pro Street looking for a new keyboard and I saw this, thought it was priceless......... It's either a subtle ploy by the government, or an explaination for the level of dangerous drivers on the road right now.........
  23. @ WinKE55: Overconfidence in the ATTESA ETS system? I backed the Hatch into a roadworks sign once, nearly the council worker behind it too, I scratched my bumper, wrecked the sign, and got a WTF look from the council worker, I apologised profusely, bent the sign back into shape (sort of) and moved the car into a mates driveway 20 odd feet away down the road........ Boy did I feel stupid....... I just honestly didn't see the sign or the guy........ Right in my blind spot......... Lesson learned.
  24. Overtaken on Henry St. AGAIN....... P plater, green bombodore, way too quick, he would have been half blind because of the sun setting directly ahead of him, WTF is so important that people have to do 90+ in a 60 zone AND overtake by pulling into the oncoming lane? (just for reference, I was sitting on 61-62 maybe, only a needle width above the 60 bar anyway in the Hilux) Again, no cops, probably too busy serving warrants on top of said hill, either that or stuffing themselves with HJ specials.........
