How Do You Get Ke70 Calipers And Brake Hoses Off?
rundell replied to eiriksmil's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Yeh you should be able to get the caliper off with just removing the bolt at the bottom and top brake line shouldnt be in the way you only need to disconnect brake lines for taking the struts out then you have to have the pain of bleeding your brakes so try do it withoiut disconnected brake lines -
that short burst would prob blow headgasket and if you lowered it to the psi of a supercharger for that brief moment wouldnt be all the hassle of setting it up and stuff when you could just wack on a turbo or supercharger and run boost all the time  haha
-
cheers for all the help will have to give it a go tommorow jsut a lot easy to swap engines then try to get out a bolt stnapped in the block as nothing worked(N) ill learn this time not to snap bolts ahah. Ohh just checking will a 4k-c be fine to swap into a ke55? theres not much difference is there?
-
Got myself a manual most of the engine is out already was just double checking. Thats what i was thinking using a pole and some chain and lifting it out but uncles got a engine crane so might give that a wack. 0hh hour awesome i just got sick of trying to get snapped bolt out of engine block so just thoguht it would be a lot easier to just chuck it and put in another 4k
-
Probably been covered heaps but hey just checking whats the best way to pull it out? With gearbox or without? And how long does it take about a day? Or does anyone in adelaide want to do it for me? :P haha
-
Haha yeh hose was just for the test runs before the headgasket blew. Hmm might look into the efi system once i get it running

Burnouts (clutch Dropin) As I Call It
rundell replied to shauns ke30's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
a 3k holds stand stills:O what i did with my ke55 was unplug my window sprayers and put longer piepes ran them under my car and hooked them to the wheels arch so when i spray my window sprayers it would spray oil on my back tyres blew a stock tyre with it haha. -
Nice job this is starting to look sick!Well done. pity my engine don't look like that (N) some of the oil lines were too short so had to use garden hose :jamie: ghetto spec much. Finally got those bolts out so will rember to lock the dizzy this time :P How much is efi's for k engines?
-
Just make sure when you take the head off you don't snap a bolt like i did haha
-
haha thats what i do wait for rain. They just body roll a lot with stock suspension
-
Yeh i have easy out screws that for the bolt i snapped in the block didnt have much luck with my head bolts might get some new ones made up before i put them back in these ones where quite rooted. I'm gonna try all these ideas tommoro hopefully somehow i can get it. Hopefully ttheres a mobile thread doctor in SA haha never heard of them lol
-
ohhh looks like I'm going tool shopping today haha. If all else fails ill just angle grind the top off then put another 4k head on top if i damage it
-
Or if anyone knows where to source one one of these metrinch sockets in adelaide???
-
yeh tried that seen where the front head bolt is thoght not much clerance :bash: this is on a 4k. So far my desisions are try carefully angle grind the top off the bolt then use pipe wrench when head off to undo. Or mate came up with good idea to find a nut that will fit over it then use a socket to get it off
-
Yeh i was gonna do that but instead use easy out screws but beacause the bolts in tight it wouldnt work or rip the tread or something
-
great no tool place has those sockets :y: oh well might bring out the trusty angle grinder and cut bolt off then use pipe wrench. to get bolt out once heads off
-
Hmm any idea where to buy one of these? and is it just a socket to go on any wrench or do you ahve to get a certain set? cheers
