  6. Hey guys thanks for all the comments heres a link to a video of it on the dyno. The car is being dynoed ant B.T performance Swan Hill the guy in the car is the owner/builder and driver of a 3500hp top door slammer and was impressed off the build on the motor i did not have to alter a single thing :lolcry:
  7. Hey guys had her on the dyno today and also some dramas while she was on it. When he went from 2nd to 3rd it dropped one of the cylinders off :y: and was imediatly shut down after a bit of stuffing around we found that one of the carbies had lifted off a little and the first cylinder wasnt getting fuel. After all that was sorted it was worked out that in 4th gear at roughly 5500-5800 rpm at 100mph it was running 75 hp at the rear wheels. Due to it being an old dyno i was unable to get a print out of the results. Now its just a matter of running it in then go for it. I would like to take the time to thank my father for his many endless hours spent on not only my engine but also for the majority of the work that has been done to the car itself i would hate to know how much i would have had to pay some one to do it all Thanks Dad.
  8. Thanks ken and the oil cap was just on one of the motors that i got at home thought it looked pretty cool so i put it on
  9. Hey guys thanks for the comments just took it for a lil run up the road couldnt help ourselfs the whole town is going to be thinking this of me :) haha cos is very noisy. and i will post dyno results as soon as it has been done.
  10. and a few more
  11. Hey guys got the new engine in after some stuffing around had it in then had to take it back out due to the five speed hitting in places and also had a problem with getting the clutch to engage but dad was able to get around all of that and we now have it running. (very bloody loud running straight out the extractors haha) Going in tomorrow to have the exhaust fitted back up and hopefuly dyno tuned on friday to get her runnung smoothly. Here are a few pics. :)
  12. Hey guys the old motor is now out and engine bay is being cleaned up and gatting a fresh coat of paint on a few bits and pieces. I took the advise from a couple of you guys and painted the rad support and in behind the grill and so forth black asel will be posting more pics as it all comes together.
  13. Hey guys here are some more photos of the motor build the manifold has been built for the carbies and they are now fitted up :D . Have bought all new gauges and also 10 mm top gun ignition leads an also a pro comp electronic fuel pump and regulator :D . The radiator has been tripple cored and dad built a new bracket to hold the thermo fan rather then going through the radiator.Dump pipe on the extractors is for travel purposes only to get it to town to get the exhaust done(will be a noisy 11kms).Hopefuly all going well with the long weekend it should be all fitted up and ready to be dynoed tuned later in the week will put results up once done.
  14. Hey guys got the manifold plate cut out and also a few spares, we have spaced the centre of the carbys out to even them out on the inlet ports so that all four inlet tubes can be made the same lenght (this should save a lot of stuffing around). Will be running four chrome 54mm pods. Dad's realized with modified sump we wont be able to get the motor in with it on is there much trouble in fitting the sump up from underneath(believe philbey you had this problem??? and was able to over come it) More progress and pics to come hopefuly all finished by next week getting the radiator tripple cored, and my cousin who is an auto elec is building me a bigger alternator(between 80-120 amp). Also in the process of building a alliuminum centre console to fit 5 inch tacho and 2 inch oil temp/pressure, amp, water temp gauges(what is best to use mechanical or electrical???)
  15. Thanks mate um where abouts do you mean to build this just onto all the runners?
  16. Yeah thanks philbey will be using mechanical advance to over come that problem didnt get the manifold cut out over the weekend so hopefuly tomorrow it will get done so we can work the rest of it out.
  17. The two end carby's line up with the two end ports so theres plenty of room only trouble now is there is no where on these carby's to connect vaccume hoses from the dizzy????
  18. thanks stu um the rest of the cam specs are as follows. cam lift/ duration adv/ duration @050/ valve clr/ valve lift/ cam lift tdc/ phase<) INTAKE 0.268 276. 218 0.009 0.393 5.868 107 EXHAUST 0.268 278. 218.5 0.009 0.393 0.048 and yeah I'm going with the quads manifold is getting built as we speak. also here are some pics of carbys and new clutch and pressure plate.
  19. Hey thanks Doogs, and i got the extractors from an exhaust center in swan hill was going to cost me $260 for them to make me a set but then he had a look in there stock and turned out they had these ones sitting in there so i got them for $100
