Currently Telstra boy, working in the shops; great short-term job, couldnt do it forever - was self-employed fixing computers out of school, lost my drivers licence and sold the business, best decision of my life. Computers are stressful and i'll be glad to never see one again. Except to surf rollaclub on... :jamie: Uni this year.....find out tomorrow if i got my pref. Crossing fingers. 8/ P.s - Sabmac; we may have spoken on the phone?

2nd Annual Rollaclub Great Ocean Rd Cruise
pixelated_goat replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
$40 transferred! looking forward to this, finally got the go ahead from work - should be a blast......again. rolla MAY be registered, fighting some chasis rust atm, but if that prevails and i can get it inspected by vicroads in time, bring on the mighty ke20. either way, it'll be awesome. be good to see a few of last year's peeps again also. was a good crowd. -
come on tate!! mine is in, starting.........and idling as of yesterday!! with the help of a few rollaclub members *cough* pozman, webers, kickin5k *cough cough* hehe
-
fair enough, i want a day in VIC (or drivable distance) with a wet track and some rollaclub'ians sliding around everywhere, would be fantastic - you can even get a stock rolla with a 4k sideways in the wet!! not exactly thrilling but it's still fun :)

Paperwork For Changing 3k To 4k In Ke20
pixelated_goat replied to Vaster_KE20's topic in General Mechanical
I'm from VIC so i'm not sure of the process in QLD, but just ring them, best way to know exactly what you need to do. Number - 13 23 80 -
Looks awesome man, very similar situation to mine, good luck with it, keep us posted on the progress!! =D
-
Yes indeed I do, was quite surprised on how similar our outlooks are on our cars when i was reading through your thread a few weeks back!! As i say, can't wait to cruise together. :D
-
Thought i'd express my interest also. Cheers :D

I'm giving 10/10 for those pics, what an experience eh - not everyone gets to see Elvis flying over - scary stuff though. Finding it hard to top that one  One recently from the Great Ocean Rd Rollaclub trip on Aus Day weekend - taken from the back seat, hand out the window during the windies, I was happy! :D
-
I'd like to go down the 4A road, until i have the money it'll be a 4k with 3k (bigport?) head, extractors, webers (big enough to bolt onto the 4A when it comes along) - not sure how far my cashola will stretch getting this body done first!
-
Exactly, panels are still very straight - trying to track down some new front guards in VIC as they're rusted out as you can see - but apart from that, it's in great condition - just need to get the groundwork right now so it stays that way for ANOTHER 30 years :D
-
Ok managed to get most of the interior stripped, only dash to go - also got some pics of the worst spots of rust (not pretty) - got time off next week so should be able to get more done then:

The Fastest Car Youve Been In?
pixelated_goat replied to LittleRedSpirit's topic in Automotive Discussion
- Fastest car I've even been in is probably my mate's 2001?? Clubsport, 255kw model - soon I'd like to be able to say my KE20, we'll see - Fastest I've been in a car is in my mates E34 5 series BMW - 215km/h (public road) - Fastest I've driven is 190km/h in my first car, '93 TR Magna (public road) And yes, this is why I'm currently serving my much deserved license suspension until further notice. :D I need to attend more track days or something  -
Raven's Ke25 Corolla Memorial Rebuild - Now Parting Out
pixelated_goat replied to Raven's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Hey Raven, lovin the 25 seriously, had a good read of your thread just now, a lot has been added since I last took a browse, very inspiring, can't wait to rock up together at cruises - all we need now is for someone to bring a 4 door sedan!! Turns out we have very similar plans for our engines, I'm looking to pick up some big webers (or similar) for my existing 4K just to give it a bit of grunt whilst I save for a 4A conversion, and then bolt them straight on there - but body is main priority right now, not even thinking about engine for another few months. Lookin good :D -
Thanks Lee, yeah I'm very stoked about it, the high has been running all week - basically stripped the interior Tuesday evening, i'll be taking pics as I go, more work on Sat if I get time. Thanks for the offer, no doubt I'll need a hand down the track so I appreciate it - good to know someone thats done it before!! :D
-
I'd be in for for the extractors, hell yeah :D
-
Very reasonable i think, compared to others around

Upgrading Ke20 To Ke55 Brakes
pixelated_goat replied to pinpinade's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Keep us posted on how you go with this upgrade, I'm most likely doing the same thing very soon - where did you find your information for the upgrade? Cheers, Shane. -
I emailed him last week, he specifically asks for part numbers and then email backs prices - I pretty much got a quote for every rubber on the 4 door KE55 and he emailed me back the following: (match these up with the previous link) 322.030 $11.94/metre 530.051 $64.54 ea 530.052 $64.54 ea 260.042 $8.77/metre 322.061 $35.48 ea 351.439 $19.72/door 216.042 $14.92 each 217.405 $25.37 ea 217.414 $27.02 ea 613.008 $10.37 ea 607.004 $50.75 ea 607.005 $50.30 ea + freight. Might save some people (and Scott) some time if you've got a KE55.

Ok, today I managed to get some pics, they are just quick snaps to get the idea - body is very straight, minor dings on LHS around the join of the door, apart from that rust is the area that needs most work on this car. When i start work on the rust i will post pics of the affected areas. Aim for the moment is to strip it to a shell, and get it right from the start. Started work for a couple of hours tonight, but spent most of the day stripping my KE55 of all its goodies, that will be going soon.... such a shame, but I only have room/money to support one car. Anyway, enjoy the pics! ;)

EDIT: After posting this late the other night, I realised that I've been reading these forums for quite some time now, but I don't think I've officially introduced myself because I don't post all that much..... I'm Shane, I live on the Mornington Peninsula in VIC, I purchased a KE55 approx 1 year ago for motorkhanas etc, and joined these forums. I had it on the road for a little while, but I never really saw a future for the car. (Loved my car a lot, but I prefer the earlier generation corollas) So buying this KE20 is a dream come true for me, and the KE55 will most likely be for sale soon. I attended the VIC Australia Day Long Weekend Great Ocean Rd Cruise (try saying THAT three times fast) organised by 'TheNobbler' this year, and I'm looking forward to many more. :P My original post: Yep, I am now the proud owner of a KE20 - I have always loved this generation but being so rare now, i knew my chances were pretty slim of owning one. But last night, thanks to a stroke of luck browsing the trading post, and many thanks to pozman for driving me the 4 hour round trip through Melbourne to Geelong, with my beast strapped to a car trailer during long weekend traffic ;) - it's now safe and sound in my garage. I havent had a chance to get any pics just yet, I've been flat out today getting my garage cleaned up and sorted out - hopefully i'll get some pictures tomorrow to post up. The first thing to tackle is the rust, not too bad, most is just surface, but a few awkward spots will prove a bit of work but we all love a challenge. :y: -Shane.

Yeah i'm with stu, looks immaculate, love to see it up close - sounds like you've got yourself a tidy car now, congrats - thanks for the info! Anyone else got any recommendations? :P
-
Hey i'm also looking at resprays, just searching the forums now for any previous recommendations, came across this thread, if anyone does know of any joints in VIC please let me know! r0ck3t - did u end up finding anywhere? GZE82 - i looked at the pics of your car, looks nice!! did it come up as well as you'd hoped? How much did they sting you for it if you don't mind me askin? I'd like to get my KE55 done, and I'd prefer to go through someones recommendation because it's a lot of money if you're gonna end up with a dodgy job!
