  1. Everything off the front. Took all the wheels off and put the car up on stands
  2. Over the last 2 days i've done some more stuff, Got all the trim off, all in one piece aswell as those grill/fin thingos on the back. My dog decided he would help.
  3. Car project finally started, the rubber seals around the tailights fell to pieces and my dog thought they were delish. The high-light of my day lol.
  4. Yay stuffs happening. :P Got the garage, weatherproofed it and stuff. Then today... on the 17th of march... The Project finally started, on Saint Patricks day too! :( removed pretty much everything on the back and organised the bits in bags and stuff, took photos to remind me where stuff goes when i put it all back together. I did it on my own, yeeeeeeaaaaah boiii! and my old man helped me with a few tricky bits. BEFORE: AFTER: Now i have to go do my english homework... will update soonish. Thanks! edit: pretty much i will be dismantling it with help from my dad, restoring panel by panel, then the shell, paint it a nice colour (havent chosen yet, mebbeh gun metal or silver or something shiny?), fix up the interior, fix up trim-shiny-little-bits-and-pieces and mebbeh some day i'll put some nice gadgets and soooop-up the engine.
  5. Read in the paper that they think the toll might rise to 230 deaths. Hopefully it doesn't. What we don't need is more grief.
  6. My computer just glitched and decided it would take 466317 days and 13 hours to move 179 files... but it was moving them at a normal speed. :D
  7. My old man got another subaru, he missed his old L series and hes always wanted a brumby. Been a while since i've gone 4x4ing in one, can't wait to go on a trip in it instead of a Prado... They're too easy going up hillclimbs. :D
  8. My webbed toes... 1 in every 2000-2500 people have them
  9. Wow, lucky you man! Those are some schmick cars, i haven't seen a TE 71 that clean before! :jamie:
  10. HAGGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jamie:  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: i want to skin "haggle boy" alive.
  11. Also i forgot to put in: Locator dimensions are: Outside diametre 77mm Inside diametre 60mm Sorry my mistake. and the local wheel shops we all checked only make up to 73mm on the outside so no luck so far. :P
  12. OK, i have some new rims and the stud pattern is fine, BUT the hub center thing is bigger on the rims are bigger then what is on the car and i would need a 17mm locator to fill in the gap. What i would like to know is that: Is it alright just to let the rim sit on the studs or does it need the hub thing to rest on as well? Is it legal to do that? Would i need to get the locator machined? and where? If not, where can i find them? Over all if just letting it sit on the studs is ok and wont do it any harm is what i really want to know. Thanks. :P I'll answer any questions if i can.
  13. found em. tomorrow we're gonna see what they look like on the car(still without tyres.) Doesn't look as good in the photo with the caps on.
  14. OK then, its been a while but at least somethings happened recently. Some new rims off of eBay for $100 they have a bit of crap on them, but i think we're gonna get them sandblasted or something then paint the spoke-things. Not sure what colour we're gonna paint it, but i'm thinking of painting the rims goldish and the car black? Anyway heres a pic. (Might get some of the whole set and the inner hubcap things.)
  15. Well I'm a newby with the corollas and i need some info, what engines for KE55's are bolt in? I'm guessing up to the 7k-c? ATM i have a 4k-c thats sitting in it and a standard 4 speed gear box, we will probably be doing a conversion to 5speed. All that we don't want is engine mount changes and nothing over the top that will be money consuming.(Yes i know, high standards, but i'm not the one with the cash) Sorry if theres a thread already like this, but i REALLY cannot give a rats arse to spend hours looking for it.
  16. And then theres all the stuff in the garage....
  17. Well, can't really do much because of the garage! It is going to be the workplace for fixing up the corolla, but it needs some work. Firstly we have to put some sheet metal along the top to keep the weather out and stop fence jumpers stealing stuff. (not that anythings been stolen.)
  18. I didnt fill out and of the forms dad did, where you sign the papers it has his as well, could as easily been somebody else's since it was already there. And dad talked to optus. As i said before, scammers are getting pretty smart, could have been something else. Apparently he's been in adelaid for 2 days? he flew over from sydney apparently. He's probably legit... I'm just paranoid.
  19. Yeah he had a card and crap. Works for optus "apparently" had some massive indian name. But them scammers are pretty smart these days...
  20. Well I think we just got scammed. An indian comes over and says he's working for optus. Its 8:15pm, a bit late to come doorknocking? Well he offers dad all these things like a free phone, faster internet, cheap phone bills and other stuff. Dad gives him all this info... Including medicare numbers? Well me being the paranoid idiot i am, i go outside and hide behind my rolla. he says goodbye and walks to the sidewalk half way between our house and the neighbours. So meanwhile i'm lying on the cold wet grass being the sneaky bastard I am and watch him.  :hmm: after what feels like 5 minutes of him talking on the phone a taxi-like van turns up (but without the taxi lights and stuff) He gets inside and the van and they drive off. Now i feel like an idiot for telling you this.... *Sigh*

  23. Today i vacuumed the interior and it looks so much better. At the start of the trip from melbourne to adelaide it was FULL of clean oil, when we got back it was almost empty. which means we have a problem. Recently it has been running on 3 cylinders or idling rough, which i think means somethings broken on the inside and leaking oil, maybe the head gasket? I'm not too smart with motors and neither is my dad. Smelt the exhaust and we can't smell coolant so it aint the radiator. No oil evident on the outside yet so its leaking on the inside. Anyone experienced a problem similar? Any tips may be helpful. Cheers.
