  1. you dnt need to cut the floor. at all it fits w a ke35 box into a ke20.
  2. u just have to make a plate to go around it using a hole saw for the shifter. fits nice and snug then . use a piece of aluminum sheet which u can get from a hardware store, easy to cut and can flex nicely to fit around the shifter and against the tunnel . drill 4 holes to line it up to the original mounting holes of the toyo shifter. quite easy
  3. u need a ke35 to 55 box to fit in a ke20 or ke10 so u wont have to cut the floor. he obviously has a later box with the longer extension housing to suit a 70 and later. this was done to adjust for the longer wheel base of the vehicle. get a rare as hens teeth 5spd from a 35 if u can . good luck , i found mine by mistake thinking it was a 4spd in a wrecking yard in melb. hunt around u may get lucky
  4. what engine mounts did u use? were they custom or the 7k mounts from the van. and why not a fuel injected 7k? is there a reason for this cos I'm thinking of injected myself. just wanna make sure there wont be any major dramas cheers
  5. thanks sounds good, was thinking along that line earlier today. Am just a little afraid about drawing the strut tops. guess ill havev to give it a shot and see how it goes. what material template did u use

  10. hi i have converted 3 corolla ke20s in vic, all were bought un reg then converted them from auto to maual . Had them re registered as manuals. there should be nothing to modify, it all bolts up off a donor car. the only bit of work is the hole for the shifter is smaller and a little more strengthened. . The shifter still fits with no cutting to the floor. just make up a plate and use a hole saw which suit the sized of the ball/boot at the bottom of the shifter where in joins the box. This eliminates noise also. then cover it with the existing carpet. And last last bit is the tail shaft. you may have to swap thew yolk over . had no prob;em with vic roads ever. if u need a hand let me know. should take around a day or so if your handy on the tools good luck
  11. try hoppers stoppers in melb for a brake upgrade kit twin piston calipers, but u gotta run 15' rims minimum
  12. hey I'm new to the club and am in melb that was the first question i asked. there a guy in QLD whos a fitter and he offered to re do mine for a good cheap price. I'm gonna give it a go this week and i let you know how it goes. he use nolathene bushes in em . ill keep u posted
  13. hey scot, thats true I'm nearly mental also. i had ke20 still have and now have a ke10 . chased it for years and finally got to own it . i love these rollas. i have since i dumped my xf fairmont ghia for one. i have been a bit of a loner with these cars. Everyone hangs shit on me about it. They just don't know what there missing out on. Got my bro hooked also. i just got a email from a guy in QLD who does em with nolathene bushes, I'm keen to give it a shot he is a fitter and turner by trade, ill try him and let you know how it all goes. but ke20s are still better for drifting. ***** love em
  14. hey love the paint on the rolla. I'm looking for a painter myself and am having trouble badly finding someone to paint mine. I'm getting ridiculous quotes of 10gs plus. My car is a ke10 with very mininal rust only in the bottom off the front fenders, in the usual spots. Do u have a name and contact no. for the guy who did yours cheers ke20nut
  15. hoppers stoppers does a brake kit that bolts straight to the existing mounting holes . its not cheap but its your life on those brakes . love this forum
  16. Hey mate at least you go with your own idea. i have thought about the v6 also. if you want a brake kit that will fit, there is a place in melbourne in the west who has the kits made up. its not cheap but it all bolts up to the original mounting holes , no drilling or modifying required. the only requirement is u must have 15' rims so the caliper will clear the rim. They are called Hoppers Stoppers the kits start at 1200 bucks and up depending on the stlye of disc you go for . i will be fitting this kit to a ke10 myself, and putting a split master cylinder from a early nissan patrol and a vh44 booster. it should pull up on a 20 cent piece
  17. nice car mate , got a shell in the garage. what size rims are they i got 15" rims same as yours on a ke10. neat nasty 70s colour poo brown i call it
