WOW it really is dead in here :hmm: I've got 2 mates who bought Corolla's a while back, will get them to jump on this site for some inspiration :y: Also where can I order stickers? Might as well start representing seeing as my car should be out of the workshop in a few weeks :P

WOW I totally forgot about this thread...... Was reading everything I said in the original post and just couldn't stop laughing..... damn I was dumb :y: Anyway, I am 16 no more :D turned 17 in May. Unfortunately I still have my L's, but will be going for my P test AGAIN in exactly 1 week. Failed the first time coz I did just over 40kmph in a school zone, I almost started punching myself! So I've had a lot of drama's with the car over the last couple of months, to be honest, I haven't even driven it in about 9 months :P It's been sitting at a workshop up here in Darwin for a while now as me and my dad rooted the car. As I had my L's and couldn't drive it on my own - and visiting the ladies with daddy next to you isn't cool - I let one of my "former" mates drive it. No way I would let him drive it alone so I was in the passenger seat at all times. So one night going to his place after a party we go around a corner and it just dies. Next day we call a towtruck to pick it up and take it home, so there it was, sitting at home with my dad trying to figure out what the problem was. Then every time he though he'd fixed it, he'd do something else to it :( At the end he ripped out the dash, cut ALL the wires from the ECU, and pretty much after the whole "festival" the car had NO interior. After that, I bought a MicroTech LT8s, individual coil packs, X4 ignition module, and a hand controller, which is now being installed. The guy fixing the car, called Dr. Josh, has told me it should be another 2 weeks until I get it back. I'll add some photo's from when I first got it coz I only just realized that there's one photo in the original post. Will keep this updated as I go :hmm: This last photo was just a joke, didn't actually take the car out like that..... Also forgot to mention that I've got a AE92 dash sitting here waiting to be put in, the guy fixing the Corolla told me it'll fit right in there, chances are really small that the mounting brackets will have to be modified a tiny bit though which isn't really a problem :P

I just had a read of this WHOLE thread. This is one amazing car. Can't wait to see more pics :y: Have you got anything planned for the car in the future?

Yea rollaclub seems pretty dead hey? Well if I can get some rollaclub stickers, I'll put them on both my cars, and maybe even my dads XR6 lol

Well my rolla should be running pretty soon (I bloody hope), so when I get my P's AND the car's fixed, I'll be out and about :yes: But if I get my P's before the car is fixed, I hope you guys don't mind me tagging along in a XR6?

Yea man, the car's got a few problems at the moment, I replaiced the distributor cap, rotor, coil, coil leads and ignition leads, then I bought a new battery, and it's still not working!!! Gonna go get a new ignitor today, let's hope it fires up! Thanks for the great comments guys, I don't' think I'm gonna be getting a dogbox, I don't have that kinda money... gonna be redoing the dash though, with a carbon fibre look, maybe airbrush the graphics on the bonnet and modify the wheels etc. I'll keep u boys updated. Nah parts aren't here yet. Gonna go check tomorow and hope for the best. I'm probably gonna go to the wreckers as well just to get the car running, I don't like it just sitting there.... she wants to be drivin, with her hands in the air, in a cloud of smoke... I better stop coz I'm just making myself excited. Car should be running by the 3rd, can't believe that 4 parts are taking this long... where can I get aftermarket coil, distributor cap, and rotor? Where is everybody gonna meet for the cruise? Or you still deciding on that?

Yea that's just to keep all the bolts in....... the coke and ciggarettes might give it some extra giggawatts though

Well not that hard really... The fuel I use is Premium, but I'll try using Ultimate... Only drive it at night most of the time, but now it's just standing in the driveway, I ordered some parts from Japan coz I couldn't find anybody who has the parts in Darwin. I'll send some photo's soon, cleaning up the engin bay and making the whole motor very shiny...

Thanks for the info, this other guy told me about the "racing version" and so on... and about the prices... for me it's pretty expensive as I don't have a job and so on, but yea, I obviously spoke to the wrong people when I tried getting the parts. I went to AutoBarn, and they said something about $1000 but clearly he got it wrong... I appreciate the advise... I would like to catch a ride with someone, that would be awesome, how's that gonna work though, do I just go the HungryJacks or what? Also... I was thinking about getting the Corolla twin turbo'd... do you think that would be a good idea? Thanks again

I am extremely pissed off at the moment... I don't think I'll be able to make it to the cruise, my car won't be running for at least 3 weeks, I ordered a new coil, distributor, rotor, and ignition leads from Japan, but it won't be here for another three weeks, hopefully I can get the car running in time... apparently a 4age motor is like a "racing version" or something and parts for it are pretty rare, and VERY expensive... I paid about $500 for the above mentioned... and I'm only on my L's, which means I'm gonna have to get a job really soon... Hope I can meet some of you guys soon.. My name is Quinton by the way

Well what do what do I have to do to join the rollaclub? I bought Stephens Corolla, so I want to make the best of it... is there any joining fees and stuff? The car should have some more "balls" in about a week... not much though...

Yea I'll also be going, and as I'm not driving, I'll probably be drinking..... my Pepsi..... where do I go and what time does it start? I know it's in Katherine, but exactly where? Maybe we could follow someone there? I'm just worried about the fuel... getting 170km on a tank, and it takes $60 to fill it up... is that even normal?

Hey guys, I bought Stephens Corolla about a week ago, and now it's giving a whole lot of trouble, it's coughing up black smoke, and the timings out, I'm not so worried about the timing, but the black smoke worries me a lot, I think black smoke means that the motor gets too much fuel, if that's the problem, what can I do about it? If anyone can give me any advice, I would appreciate it so much. Thanks Quinton

Yea I bought it off Stephen about a week ago, and I've had to put fuel in every day since I got it... I've got some plans for it.... but I'll keep everybody up to date... but there's some problems, it coughs up black smoke, and I think that it means that it gets too much fuel... and then the timings out, and then I set it right, and then the pulleys moved about 20 degrees out again..... that can't be right... it sounds like a rotary motor... and it kinda scares me.... The 26th sounds all good, I'm in, no matter when it is, I just can't wait for my first cruise... not that I'm even alowed to drive the car... which sucks... unless I can find someone with a licence to come with me, my dad pisses himself everytime we go driving...

This all sounds cool, exactly when and where is it gonna happen though? I only got my L's about a week ago, but one of my mates can drive my car... this is gonna be my first cruise... can't wait!!!

i think it's a great idea... I've been in Australia for about 7 months, and i've been on the internet for over a month now, looking for car clubs in Darwin, and I couldn't find any. As I am still in school, I'll be able to attend meetings and so on if they are held after 15:00, but I would definately be going to every meeting! I'm 16 at the moment and I'm getting my L's on Monday, the 18th, so I'm pretty excited! One of my mates has his P's, so obviously he'll be driving me there and back, and going on cruises... have you thought about adding motorbikes to the whole idea... I think it could work, a few of my friends will be happy to hear about something like that.... Great idea by the way!!!

Hey everyone! I'm buying a AE82 Corolla this week... it's got a few mods, and it doesn't look too bad, but I'd like to do more to it. I'm new in Darwin, I'm actually new in Australia, I'm from South Africa, so I don't know much about this whole country... and was hoping that I can learn some new things from this site seeing as I'm now a Corolla owner :P: It's got a 2.5" cat back with canon, standard 4-2-1 extractors, pod filter, Monza racing seats, AE86 front lip modified to suit the AE82, 17" wheels, 2X MTX 12" subs, 2 amps, splits, and a Kenwood head unit. Just updated this post so that I don't look like a complete ass :lol: Will hopefully be updated frequently :cool:

I know a guy with a vinyl cutting machine, so Teddy, if you're interested in having 24"+ sized stickers, let me know if I can do anything. I'm a 16 year old student at Darwin High School, and I'm buying a '86 Corolla, so I'd like to get into the motorsport scene, I'm from South Africa so I don't really know what's going on in Darwin.
