I sent them an email this morning Raven and they're going to look into it. If it bombs out again tonight I'll disable the ads until their server comes good again.

Yea their server seems to be crashing nightly now. Its for the castrol ad. I've changed the code so you can still browse where as a couple of days ago it made rollaclub non-responsive even though our server was perfectly fine. I need to get onto them and give them a hurry up.

Now you've got a post from that post it should be active again. There are a bunch of forums (mostly the for sale areas) that don't contribute to your post count. Disabling PMs for people with no posts is hopefully just a temporary fix. I believe spam solutions should present minimal impact to end users. Something such as reCAPTCHA (which is fairly useless these days) is about as intrusive as I like to get. Reviewing signups manually is a big no-no for me. If a user cannot register instantly then the system is too intrusive on their site experience. Unfortunately that leaves me walking a very fine line between being annoying users and giving spammers free reign.

Looks like part of the cause of this little spam spree has been because our upstream antispam data provider has been having network issues. In order to prevent major disruptions, if they go offline the site operates as normal without that data. Unfortunatly in the little bits of downtime they've had in the past week a spambot has managed to slip through on a couple of those occasions. They seem to have the problem sorted so we hopefully shouldn't see any more attacks. Regardless I'm going to diversify our antispam data sources to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Looks like we go back to my old system of requiring a post before you can use the PM system. My md5 checksum form method apparently didn't work. PMs stripped from the database.

Having seen a properly converted 7K just recently I can tell you its not any easier. It is pretty cool for the WTF factor but if you're looking for the best power for the least effort, 4AGE still kicks the 7Ks arse.

SR20 sumps don't have gaskets, they're just sealed with a liquid gasket from factory. Mines currently got permatex blue goo if I remember correctly. Nissan recommends a non setting gasket but the aftermarket equivalent just doesn't work.
