  1. Damn, don't see many of these cars in this condition in Cyprus. I have a place in Paphos, this car is definetively worth a 160 km drive each way :D
  2. I've got a 3k (I think? 60 bhp or something), I usually fill it up with the most simple 10w-40 or 5w-40 I can find. I occasionally fill, the two last times it's been dry. Approaching 300k km :D
  3. Just remembered this thread and felt it should be revived :locked:
  4. A compliation of some of the previous owner's pics and mine taken throughout the winter. 'To wreck' is kind of a joke, the car will be back stronger than ever as soon as this snow goes away. It was the previous owner who painted it white. I'm only driving it, so far.. Anyway, here's the vid. The first vid I've ever made, so go easy on me :lolcry: http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h319/eir...astory_0003.flv
  5. Are two-door KE70s rare? There's one for sale in Norway right now.. :P
  6. http://trdparts.jp/english/list_ae86.html Coil springs and shock absorbers for racing sounds good. Not that they are coilovers, but they should go low enough.. If not I could cut the springs I suppose.. Do AE86s and KE70s differ in the rear suspension?
  7. I hear AE86 coilovers fit late KE70s.. Now, what coilovers to buy? :) I've found K-Sports (I've seen some bust and start leaking), Megan Racings, T3s and GReddy Type Ss. I hear TRDs are an option, but I don't find them.. If anyone can lead me in the right direction I'd be happy :D They need to be able to drop the car about 100mm, maybe more.. I can just cut the coilover springs or have the ones I'm ordering the coilovers from use shorter springs, I guess that's not the biggest problem.
  8. Yeah, it's the worst thing about winter.. ALL daily driven old cars here are rotten. I don't like the idea of salt on my car, but I'm comforting myself with that I'm not ruining a overrated car. There's for instance a hole into the boot beneath the rear bumper.
  9. Driving around in the snow is the best thing about winter, I go sideways all the time. We have local woods making our own rally tracks, we have empty parking places full of snow and ice. Hell, on a good day (like on Monday), all the main roads are filled with snow. I moved it last night, it had been standing since Thursday or Friday.. Fired right up, all you have to do is to choke. Right now it's not cold, around -1 degrees. It stood for two weeks over Christmas, it was -10 degrees pretty much every day. It was dead when I tried to start it, then you just need to charge the battery.
  10. When I went outside today, I couldn't find my cars. I found my Rolla ;)
  11. Indeed. Thanks a bunch :| Boost+k, can you take a picture of your rear arch/wheel? That'd be awesome.
  12. Will this work on a KE70? I know it barely works on a Japanese Charmant, and then it should on the KE too? I know a guy in England has got 8Jx14 with about ET10, that's pushing it. I'm gonna roll and roll and roll, just to get that clear. ET23 on a 9" will push it as far out as ET10 will on a 8, but it'll give me 26mms less clearance to the strut. Do you guys think it's room for that? The car will be as low as the Charmant:
  13. I undid the two 17mms at the back. Doesn't move an inch. It almost looks like you need to take the part of the caliper closest to you off first, and then you're able to slide the part furthest from you off some mounts. It's what it looks like, and I thought if it's not as simple as just removing the two big bolts and smacking them with a hammer (as I've tried that and they are shit stuck), I'd ask around before I f@$ked them up :)
  14. Thanks guys :) The rear camber is pretty wack. It's multi-link on these cars, so the beauty comes naturally. The wheels are Ronal Turbos :y:
  15. Do you need to remove the pins (one is seen in focus in the pic) for taking off the caliper?
  16. The pads now clear the discs. Enter new problem: The caliper and shield seem to have a very close relationship. They don't want to be split up, it's almost as they're a happy couple melted together over the years :D
  17. I'm struggling with the calipers on my KE70 atm. Posting up some pics of my other car, so you know I've turned a wrench once or twice before :D
  18. An old Lite-Ace (I think) in Ireland, pictured with my parents' daily grind.
  19. Okay, so I got the clip out. Are there any tricks for removing the calipers, or you just pull them out after removing the two long 17mm bolts? I tried, they are sitting pretty hard. It's logical really, but I just don't want to break things, better to ask around :D
  20. It's the clip at the hard/soft line change that's been put in the wrong way, no space behind there really. I've already drained the fluid, noticed that the outer skin on the soft lines is starting to crack, so I'm replacing lines as well. There's a garage just down my road, I can just use the handbrake down there. Letting them bleed the brakes.
  21. It's a late model, I don't know if that means any changes? All I know is that the top bolt won't come out because of the brake hose is in the way. The clip is mounted like someone has just pushed it straight in, instead of turning it and pushing it in from behind. Then I could of course just have used the screw driver and hammer approach.
  22. Thanks guys. Started undoing the join. So far I've undone the 'bolt' holding it, but I need to get that clamp/tightener (whatever you call it really) out. Usually I just hammer them out, but there's too little room here. Any tips? :D Your help is much appreciated :P
  23. Hiya people. I've figured you need to remove the brake hose in order to get the upper caliper bolt out. I've loosened the hose at the caliper, and where the hose meets another hose at the strut. But when I try to undo the hose at either connection point, both hoses (from caliper to brake pipe) just start to curl up like into a spring.. Any advice for what I should do? Would be really helpful :'(
  24. I made a thread in general discussion, but can't move it so I'll make one here as well. What to do to solve this problem? I don't know if any of you have encountered this, maybe it's due to road salt (which I don't think most of you have a lot of), but I hope some of you will know. It's the front left caliper that's seized.. Thanks in advance if anyone knows, it'd be great :) Need the car this week, so you can say it's urgent.

It's the front left caliper that's seized.. Haven't had a look at it yet, way too tired (2 am). Of course it happened now, just when my summer car is going in storage for the winter and I depend on the Rolla. Thanks in advance if anyone knows, it'd be great :lolcry:
