as its time to put some more hours into my 12A ke55 corolla i wanted to know what people think about welding the diff as a new diff is not on my money right now i wanted to know if it will hold the power of a stock 12a and can i rip a skid with out f$!king it. is it hard to do? also is it safe to cruise with. if it was your car and you didnt have the money for a bigger diff would you do it ? i had a mate weld his rx3 diff hardcore and it went sweet but i can't get in touch with him to ask him about it same with a gemie with a 308 motor with stock diff welded and it got punished all day but the diff went awesome cheers guys steve

I'm in canberra. the reason for no progress is because i want it done right so that means money. need a new gear box so thats 700 i don't have but in the next few weeks ill be swapping them over and the rad goes in aswell as over flow, oil catch can, hoses and a gilmer drive kit. oh and a weber. no dramas with the law its got good mounts and will have every thing done i.e brakes suspension. just hoping it will go well for a stocker with a web on it. other wise ill crack it open and port it.

they could have put up with it one week end. i went but i didnt enter my car my rotary roll will be in it next year. i did some burn outs in my mates hilux but that was in the camp ground. the ke10 was funny i went round a coner and only saw it but i herd the ss camero with the procharge and was like wow but when i got the the nats found out its got the 3k motor.

Wtf!? My 4kc Gets 250km Out Of A Full Tank?
chappo12 replied to Evan G's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
buy a can of carby cleaner and flashlube injector cleaner i did that all the time. and a clean fuel air filter. i don't think a 3k carb is worth it. rebuiling carbs is easy. and you have no flat spots -
only prob with taking the lead is if they realy want it they will run it on 3 cylinders and use the lead that your go to the spark plug for a col dizzy lead lol i don't know how much effort they would go to but yea

take the rotar button out for the time being just don't lose it
-
just wanted to know if you could use selleys instant gasket for intake manafolds
-
need to paint it all and neaten it all up but thats it so far had to cut the corolla xmember to fit the rota in
-
you prob don't care but i got a pro to do my welding. i weighed up the cost of the welder and course and time and metal vs a pro and he one hands down. use 8mm steel for cross members very strong prob over kill for a stock 12a but a poor man pays twice
-
oh yea and fly wheel $88 and clutch was $130 slave and master i think $140
-
sorry grammer was really bad there
-
lol its a ke55 no non turbo just for now. cost so far isnt to much but the time i spend thinking about it is heaps. ill prob go Ts diff like you said. I'm not chasing huge hp. the gear box cross member was the easyest (my welder said) just used the corolla one cut the middle out see were the bolts sat and welded the whole up and drilled to new wholes looks really good i just need to work out how to post pics and ill show you all cheers steve-o
