lanceishere replied to lanceishere's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion

5k heads have hydraulic lifters, as opposed to mechanical lifters in 3k's / 4k's etc. :)

A Few Ae86 Into Ke70 Questions...
lanceishere replied to lanceishere's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
some 86 struts are probably in the works too, they a straight swap? -
first off: this is a re-post, had it in the wrong forum... anyway... a few fitment questions, are these a direct fit into a ke70? all ae86 parts, if not a direct fit, is it possible to fit them? - adjustable lca's - rca's - steering knuckles - outer tie rod ends (power sterring) - tension control tie - lowered springs (front & rear) - traction brackets - rear 4-link - front swaybar why i ask when everywhere says "most front suspension parts are a direct swap" is because that is a tad vague, and all of those are adjustable / non-standard items... i found the parts this ebay store when casually looking for some cheap cambertops: http://stores.ebay.com/Techno-Toy-Tuning they seem ok, and they make mention of aussie customers and i was wondering if anyone had used them before?i mean, ebay and all...
-
thanks guys ;) now all i need to do is get yahoo working agian...
-
i've been looking through yahoo japan's auctions on wheels and stuff, and there are some beautiful parts going fairly cheap (set of 14" starsharks for $23!). i'm assuming they don't use paypal... so how do i order stuff from japan? any other places that are a bit easier to get things from?
-
ok, before i start my yabbering, i started this topic for some THEORETICAL discussion because i'm curious and i don't seem to be the only one... so, 4k-c fuel injection, pros? cons? is it worth it? what are the options? details? could one say... do a direct swap with parts from a 4k-e? or another k-series engine? or something along the lines of this? http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...3mb50mavvs5bsv6 p.s. i openly admit to knowing almost nothing about engines and related things of that nature... so i want to get learned! :P
-
tweak it sells dual webber manifolds for k-series engines http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.php?products_id=23

the rip-off is temporary, and i'm not expecting much for $100... if i like it i'll get a genuine one (the $400 price tag is the only thing stopping me from getting a genuine one, i'm one broke kid) i have big plans for my beastie, the only issue at the moment is money :P
-
thanks guys, i think i'll go with a nice perforated leather rip-off deep corn and see how it goes... :P
-
Hey guys, getting a bit bored with my standard ke70 wheel and I was wondering what I should be looking for as a replacement? At the moment i'm looking at nardi deep corns, but I don't know weather to go perforated leather or suede... And after that, I'm not too sure If it's what I'm really after, I just know it's pretty :jamie: I want a nice comfortable wheel I can use daily, but still have a decent wheel for the odd track day. A Deep corn do the job? Probably a stupid post, but oh well

Winding Tacho Dash Back To The Same As The Original...
lanceishere replied to lanceishere's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
uuuuuh... i was practicing my "rolling back" on the old one... and playing with the speedo like a little kid... still be good? -
bought a tacho dash for my ke70 last week, and it came this morning. when i was fitting it i noticed that the odometer reading was about 1000000km's higher than the original 2140232km's (which is going to annoy the living s#!t out of me) first of all, is it legal to change the odometer reading to the original reading? second of all, how would i do it? just take the front section off the dash and roll the wheels backwards? old speedo cable and a drill? i don't want to destoy it, just want it reading right...
-
roo, you are god! thank you  (that's the exact car i was thinking of) and i'm not really a big fan of lips, they look good, but everyone has one... i want something a little different, and boxy
-
anyone have some pictures of an ae86 bodykit on a ke70? i've seen it done (once) and i want some more info, like how well the kit fits/how much i need to modify it etc... if the info is kit specific, i'm looking at the d-speed style kit. cheers! :P also, other people's body mod ideas? P.S. i did a quick shop of what i mean (attached pic)
-
hmm... i had a simmilar problem, i made an account, but that was a month or two ago, and my account stil hasn't been approved by a mod... :y: that might be your problem?
-
haha, even i know that won't work, what a moron :|
-
http://www.otomoto.com.au/photos.htm most of these wheels need a bit of clean and a new lick of paint, but they're jap rims shipping is about $15/wheel depending where you want them
-
haha, interceptor, it fits that description perfectly
-
pretty sure we're not allowed to bag other people out, so i'm just going to say: wide wheels = heaps of grip :) they're for track racing
-
they come in gold too :)
-
