  1. 4age sheep it is then I suppose :/ might look into a 2tc though
  2. so I love my ke70, but I'm not the biggest 4k fan... do I've been toying with the idea of an 18-RG keto. why? - carbs! fuel injection just isn't sexy... - twincam - good following, proven performer - something a little different now, I know it's been done before, and I'm a bit of a rolla n00b, so I was wondering if anyone had some pointers/ rough projection of costs/ knows where I can get one/ general information I might find useful? cheers, lance
  3. >>first parts car was a te71 gt >>parts car te71 gt >>te71 gt WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!???!!!?!!?!!?
  4. did you have any troubles fitting the '86 kit onto the flat front?? i was thinking about doing the same thing at some point down the track, but i wasn't too sure about fitment etc.
  5. haha, 4k with minor mods (twin sidedraughts, little head work and a nice exhaust) untill i'm off my p's... or untill i get a new car and take it off the road, i'm just planning for now :D would i want to convert a 7mge if i was worried about it being cheaper? lol, i'm all about that old-school carbed-cool :P
  6. hey, if i could afford to buy one for shits'n'gigs, i would... it has HEAPS of potential!
  7. lol, i knew that... ;) but the 18rg does seem to be the most logical option so far... (aside from a 4age, but EVERYONE has a 4age) and it keeps with my plan for carbs ;) ...re-naming topic...
  8. this kind of deal in a ke70 would be more realistic? i want more power... but i want something a little different, and it has to be n/a. i've managed to hunt down a 1G-GUE and everything ($850 at brisbane motor imports if anyone's interested) but at the moment i just want to plan from every angle and make sure it will work without too much fuss... (like cutting the fire wall :blinks: ) if it comes to it, i'll put in a 4AGE running ITB's so i can at least slide it round a corner :(
  9. haha, oh well... some things just weren't meant to be... as far as the 1g's go, would a 1G-GEU fit?
  10. i've always liked the older supras, even back in the days when i thought painted flames made a car go faster :hmm: and more recently i've been doing some surface research into putting a 7mge into my ke70. the thing is i want it running triple side-draught webbers (so it'd be a 7mgc?) and all i can seem to find is this picture: will a 7mge even fit in a ke70? and can you convert it to a carbed engine? (without losing too much power) even a 7mge running QTB's would be a wet dream... so if you have any info / advice, please share it!
  11. bought some pretty mad dragways last week, 13x6 about +5 offset 4x114.3 pcd. they fit PERFECTLY under my stock guards, and i love them, but they use nuts that go back into the wheel along the sud bolt (don't even know what they're called). standard wheel nuts are ok for test-fitting, but there's only about 5-10mm of thread in the standard/taper wheel nuts, they're a bit of a pain to put on, and i don't know where to start looking for replacement ones... any help? :) so basically: - what kind of nuts do i need? (what are they called?) - where can i get them? - what size do i need? (car is a 1983 flat-front ke70 if that's any help) thanks guys
  12. overrated brown flat front keto, in a garage on a corner in ormiston... nice :)
  13. thanks everyone! got the little bastard of a bolt out... found a little bolt extractor in tin of old drill bits i have while looking for a small drill bit... drilled a ~2mm hole and just used the bolt extractor ;)
  14. i screwed it the wrong way, the top of the bolt (which was all that was stopping it from screwing further into the hole) snapped off, thus releiving the tension on the bolt, it is now no-longer tight, just in the hole =D
  15. thanks man, have a few of those lying around... and i wanted to pull the boots off, kind of impossible without pulling the stick apart
  16. so... in theory... if i drilled a small hole in the centre and tapped a sharp phillips head into said hole and i should be able to unscrew it?
  17. Member Name - lanceishere (lance :) ) Area - Alex Hills Daily Drive - my feet... but i'm working on my stock beige ke70 cx 5-speed
  18. so i have some new shifter bushings on the way because my gearbox feels REALLY sloppy, and i can't seem to be able to pull my gearstick apart :D i managed to pull the shifter assembley off the gearbox (and snap one of the bolts in half! :) ) and then i pulled the assembley off the stick (looks like i'm missing a bushing) but it's all a real pain in the hiney with all 3 of the rubber boot things on the stick still. so how to i pull the upper part of the gear stick (that the gear knob screws onto) off of the lower part of the gear stick? it looks threaded, but i can't get any movement from it. also, how do i pull the busted bolt out of my gearbox? i don't like the thought of only having 3 bolts holding my shifter on... pic is of the busted bolt, and he top of it next to a good one
