  1. I'm currently running Cressida rims which are 15's, alloy and sit correctly on the centre hub. I don't know the year but it was the last 4 stud Cressie.
  2. I bought a brand new combo switch from Phil's Rotary's in Brisbane. He sells them on ebay for about $125. Solved a few of my electrical problems.
  3. If you look on the right side of both sr20 and rb20 boxes, you'll see that there is one bolt holding on the speedo drive. These simply pull out once you have removed the bolt. I know they are interchangable because I needed to do this on my RB20 S13 conversion. Just watch out for the oil as you yank it out.
  4. His name is Gary Le and I got his name from the VASS list on the Vicroads website. He is located in the Wantirna or Dandenong, I left the list at work so i'm going from memory. What information he didn't give me was what the maximum allowable power to weight ratio is. He also recommended that I get a second opinion but I didn't bother because he'll be the one approving my engine mod, hopefully.
  5. Hate to rehash an old post but......... I just rang up an engineer here in Vic who said he will approve ANY of the Jap import engines for my AE71 as long as: - all the components are stock - factory ECU - suspension and brakes upgraded to suit - there's no cutting of chassis rails, firewall etc. He said that because all the jap import engines have a stock power output, in theory, of 206kw the power to weoght ratio is within acceptable limits. Hope this helps the Vic modifiers on this forum.
  6. Nice wagon mate. I've got an AE71 panno and the hi-top is the best thing ever as it doesn't mess up my spikey hair. Id say stick with the standard mirrors.
  7. The spring diameter for the AE86 is 140mm lower and tapers in to 112mm at the top of the spring. Strut outer diameter is 50mm. Hope this helps.
  8. Height of the KE70 low springs are 325mm. Here's some other useful part numbers. Kingsprings: Front springs low KE70/AE71 sedan (KFRL-16) AE71 Van/AE86 (KTFL-33)
  9. It's great to know that my suspension is identical to the AE86. I wish I knew this BEFORE I ordered the springs and shocks. It might also be worthwhile mentioning that the struts are not interchangable, unless you also change the lower part that connects to the ball joint and tie rod end. I don't know what it's called :) Here's a pic of the brake pads as well.
  10. I thought that some people here might find this useful because ordering suspension parts for the front end of AE71 Panno has been a nightmare for me. The parts were listed as fitting KE70/AE71 and as the pictures show, they are different. My car is a 1984 AE71 Panno and the KE70 parts are off a 1982 model sedan. KE70 parts are on the left. AE71 stuff on the right Tyres are 195/50/15 King Springs Low (part no. KFRL-16) and Stock Springs Low (part no. Makita angle grinder) Strut clearance pics of AE71 and KE70 KE70 spring on AE71 Strut
  11. On the wheels front, I'm still undecided on what style to go with (obviously a set of racing style wheels won't suit). So for the time being, the GSR rims will stay. Thanks for your help guys. I'll post progress pics as they happen.
  12. Ok so I went to Big W today and bought some brown and gold contact because I couldn't find any place that had a timber look contact. Here is a mockup of my 3rd colour/style choice which was also suggested by Chobis. Is it a winner?
  13. Lucky I stumbled across this thread because my bonnet is doing the same thing with it's glue. Sikaflex should be available at Bunnings too. (For those that like to do late night shopping on Monday to Wednesday)
  14. Here are some pics in it's current state. Left side: Front suspension removed: Will eventually get new bushes throughout: Thanks for the opinion CHOBIS, i'm gonna try and get some timber look wallpaper/contact tomorrow to see what retro will look like.
  15. Hi guys, I've got an AE71 panno that I'm currently building up and I need some advice on what colour to change it to. It is currently beige (with black primer and rust highlights) and so far my options are: 1. Gloss black (Silhouette from BF Falcon). 2. Midnight purple (R33 GT-R) 3. Beige with wood look side panels (with gold lowrider style wire wheels) The respray will be done roughly when I get my tax refund this year. Any thoughts on these options (or others) will help me out heaps. I'll try and put some photos up shortly.
