  1. not the clearest but read able. don't have a scanner or my cammera with me atm just crapy phone cam
  2. i can take a photo of my ae95 they are exactly the same. they are also in the owners manuel if you've got that somewhere.
  3. 1 I want a bullbar does anyone have one in Sydney Australia? They want to sell brumby bar, early 90's nudge bar of a camry bolts on with little moddification. you can buy a 2" alloy bar from http://www.ama4wd.com.au/ for $500 waste of money imo a bar isnt worth more than looks on the ae95. i love mine still without one. 2 The diff lock dash light does not come on, does this mean the solenoid is gone and i have to remove the gearbox? check the locker manualy, i had the din unit locker it didnt work i found out the board in it had snaped from heat and stress over the years. i fixed it with a rocket switch with and led in it. used the accesory light to light up the switch and the lockers relay switch with the rocket switch. if the solenoid is dead i've seen someone replace it with central locking actuators. the diff lock really isnt that usefull tho unless your stuck in a bog 3 It makes a thumping sound at the rear under acceleration,is there a way to determine where in the tail shaft it is worn check the tail shaft by going under the car like trev said. mine thumps under acceleration in the rear only if you dump the clutch, drives smoothly and it wont. 4 The A/C heater fan only engages on setting 3 and 4,what is the best way to fix this? pull the switch apart (bitch of a job) grab some emry and polish the gunk off the terminals.
  4. half way up the temp gauge is fine, mine only gets higher than that when I'm letting it climb up the 4wd tracks to go mountainbiking. the only cooling issues mechanicly i've come across is the relay for the thermo fan keeps dieing, I'm yet to find out why. you only really need to worry if the gauge gets to the red about 80% of the way up the dial. EDIT: i let it climb up the tracks it doesnt always decide to go tho. :P
  5. got a fair bit of work done since i was there last. going to look awsome once you've got the paint job finished. tell me if you still need seats i'll keep a look out when i go looking for some bits of dash later in the week.
  6. hey mate. sorry havent been on the forums lately. my build has almost completely been given up on due to my car being my daily and by weeken takes all trhe boys up to the mtb trails. easiest way to work out the polarioty is to get a spare LED and touch the anode and cathode both possible ways and lable the polarity of the wires that way. glad you found my incomplete list useful make doing i seem worth while now. even easier is to use a multi meter if you have one, if not the LED and just holding the contacts together will work perfectly. post up some photos of the dash when its in. the contacts on the dash loom just slide out with a small screw driver.
  7. hey guys, I'm getting further into a 4agze convention for my little 4wd wagon, and i really need some suspension advice. so getting down to it back when i put the thing back on the road i replaced most of the bushes and the rear shockers, i put kyb gas shocks in the back but i never touched the front end. as far as i can tell it has the original struts which would be close to 22 years old now. i want to replace the front struts as they are well ant truly dead, would new standard struts work well? or should i be looking into harder springs to stiffen the front end as it bottoms out alot. I'm not sure if standard ae series struts will work as of the extra added weight of the transfer case cheers guys
  8. ok after finally having some time to investigate. my ae95r (89 model) can't have an ae92/03 cluster installed in it, the looms are different the one in mine doesn't have a taco feed wire in it at all. and has a fuel light switch that works off the electromagnet in the fuel gauge. the electro magnets wont work with the potentiometer gauges in the ae92's and 93's. all in all first generation 4afe looms suck. hopefully the loom with my 4age will work after i do the conversion. thanks for all the help guys.
  9. ae92 pin out is as follows A right indicator engine light park brake speedo active fuel gauge active speedo/fuel/taco gnd n/c left right indicator/highbeam/demister gnd left indicator high beam B n/c park brake/oil check/taco/temp gauge/fuel cap/fuel gauge/engine/ o/d off battery active oil check n/c oil gnd n/c n/c fuel taco c temp de mister o/d off door cluster lights cluster lights temp still need to work out polarity of the taco and some others, plus link'd gnds
  10. i think it might just have to be another wiring tracing exercise. i'll post the loom convertions when I'm done for anyone else who needs it. i also found a full ae92 sx cluster pin out diagram on twin cam and an ae92- ae92 sx convertion pin out diagram for anyone who needs them (both off twincam)
  11. sounds like yours is switched to 6 cyl or its only for 6 cyl cars. and a 12v 100uf capacitor should smooth out the movment but just wire in a diod in line to the capacitor on the positive to be abit safer
  12. well i just made a pin lay out for the taco cluster i've got here (out of the ae92) and since my current cluster is still in the car being my daily driver i havent had it out to check the wiring. but when i just pluged in the one from the ae92 random lights in the cluster worked, i had a hunch that my open door lights shouldnt turn my indicator on so i just put back in my old cluster, but with the taco cluster just pluged straight in the taco didnt move at all
  13. hello! i need some help wiring up an ae92 taco cluster to my ae95 non taco cluster. i've also got the cluster up for sale in the parts for sale section if i can't get the wiring right anyone got a pin payout for the ae92 taco cluster or the non taco cluster (I'm hoping they are the same as the one in my ae95)
  14. love it, great clean install, nice to see a falcon that can breath with that intake, makes my tickford el looks worse than it does now ;P
  15. i fixed up my heater fan the yesterday, took the passenger side foot well fuse box out and rebuilt it, got my fan speeds back by taking apart the resistor switch and giving the terminals a scratch clean with some emry paper, little bit of a stretch in the springs to give them back some force and it works perfectly now from 1 fan speed to all of them :no2:
