Can anyone confirm if Holden starfire lifters are the same? I mean they're the same motor minus 2 cylinder/? If they are i can get some for free from my mates old sunbird motor -

so i copied this from another post "If your running a dished piston 5k with hydraulic lifters you'll need a 4k cam or your current one reground, a 4k-c head, adjustable rocker gear, the holden 202 red motor lifters and the A12 pushrods" (is this all? will it all just "bolt together?") -
Hey, Looking to build a boost happy 5k, want it to last with around the 20psi mark I keep reading about 4k head on 5k to lower comp but i want real answers. I believe i have the d dish block but have been told to use precision hypatec pistons (i called and got a price but there are two types apparently) anyone know what part number i need to keep low comp? ALSO, when fitting the 4k head what is the easiest and most affordable way of the rocker gear to match? what is needed etc. and what to do? what else would be recommended to do to the motor? its goin in my ke10 so all help would be good (especially if you have done it) its not going to be a race car or get thrashed daily, but i would like it to handle some abuse on the odd occasion. and I'm thinking of the most affordable way to make it handle some fun.. what other issues am i going to hit with the 5k + 4k head going into ke10 Please help me make a dummys guide for people like me, becuase i have read a LOT of info on here about it... But none really has helped me... and yes, i know its been covered before but i can get the simple answers I'm looking for.... cheers

I love it too.. but probably will sell it when the other one is done.. or ill keep it because a shed looks cool with a couple of old rollas

Its the wife's.. just put a 1600 with cam. ported and some other stuff done in it.. so hopefully now it keeps up with traffic

hey, i think i may have found myself a 5k, but i thinnk it may be a forklift motor.. would need a rebuild and i would be turboing it so it will be getting different pistons anyways.. are there differences between the motors? are they the same? help??

found pictures of how it used to look.. and bought myself this turbo setup that seems to do the rounds on here.. i just need a motor and box so i can put the motor in so i don't have to keep pushing it when i need to move it.

spotted a red *e7* on the back of a trailer today along with a willow green ke20 i think in the back streets of para hills.. the ke20 looked nice.. had white walls and looked original from what i saw. if its your car, nice car..

will there be a northern meeting point also? because id like to take my car to go down and meet but i don't think it would make the cruise.

Hey all, I just recently re purchased my old ke10. i owned it a fair few years ago, i bought it as a green running/registered car. Then Painted it matt black. Then got bored of it a bought a turbo corona and let it sit around for a year or so. Fit a 4age in its engine bay but never got it running. then i sold it... LINK :How i sold it.. Now i bought it back, its a little more stripped to how i sold it.. and has a few less parts to when i sold it... I believe its been through about 3 other owners since me, but never registered under another persons name. This is how i got it back! But all in good time :)

So the ke10b I got is jap diff and my ke11 is aussy.. which diff is stronger? Not that either would be :)

cheers for the replys.. havent got a motor yet but i figure i may as well go 5 speed straight out instead of having to change it again later. and also how is the easy way of telling what diff is in a ke10?

Hey I'm just wondering if fitting a ke70 5spd would mean that you would have to modify the tailshaft? if so what are the options for gearbox's in a ke10 with standard tailshaft? cheers

pull the wrx turbo off? and have a non turbo wrx? then it would be even more boring than it is. My rexy has a td05 so maybe a bit big. out of curiosity with a dodgy turbo setup blow through with a dodgy j pipe does it actually make a decent power increase? I'm thinking cheap turbo setup would be cheaper than s/c.. so ill probably go 5k turbo just for a bit of a laugh... depends what bits i have laying around at the time or what bits i can find stupidly cheap..

yeah, still got the boat motored rolla.. its registered at the moment... but never driver it.. don't wanna get pulled over. so i gots to build a fun daily ke10 coz i want something i can drive..

yeah, i got a wrx as a daily too.. but i prefer ke10's so ill sit the rexy in shed and drive ke :)
